Innertia is still there but enemy step now resets your momentum, so you won't be able to jump cancel moves without stopping.

The inertia is never taught in DMC4 Dante skill guide when you purchase (upgrade) skill. It is purely glitch that Capcom themselves surprised it could be done. This inertia, alongside with DRI Distorted Real Impact is a glitch. That's why both mechanics doesn't exist in DMC5

You want to press the style button for Sky Star and then release so you can jump cancel into RG that's when you hold style. So the inputs will be, (In Trickster) press style button > switch to Royal Guard > jump cancel > hold style. I think using Full House (the dive kick) is easier to learn with though as you don't have to change styles and the range doesn't matter as much (the timing of the jump cancel changes how fast you Guard Fly) So start in Royal Guard, Melee (dive kick) > jump cancel > hold style Keep practising bro, you'll get it! Just don't rush and be confident with your inputs. If you can upload a video send me it and I'll tell you what's going wrong :)

@@SpawnShooter holly fuck,I actually did it!!!I went to a scarecrow I did high time both on air,I did 2 hits with swordsman style switch to trickster then skystar,NC, switched to rg and boom!!!!omfg!!but after that I dont even have an idea what to do,cause all happening so fast and I end on the ground but I was happy that I pulled one guard fly!thanks for answering my comment I'll keep trying!!

@@giorgoslouzhs8609 Yeah just make sure you're not locked on as you'll teleport if you press up Style while locked on. You can change direction while Guard Flying once by jump cancelling into Royal Guard again midflight (don't need an enemy to JC off) or twice if in DT yeah

Hi! Question about Sky Running. Do you have to use left stick to change direction where you wanna fly? Basically this: Sky Star towards the enemy -> Switch Royal Guard -> Left Stick on direction where you wanna fly -> JC the Royal Guard -> back to Trickster? If true, I find it extremely difficult to change direction with left thumb on left stick and at the same time to switch style to Royal Guard (which is on D-PAD).

Hey :) yeah that's it, if you leave the analog stick you'll just fly in the direction you're facing (usually towards the enemy which lags the inertia a bit). It is quite hard to get the hang of the speed at first, if you have debug mode you can try slowing the game down to get the hang of the inputs. Distance can also play a big part in it so try doing it from a bit further away (The closer you are the faster the Inertia is so if it seems a bit too slow don't worry you're still probably doing it) you can also try buffering it to make it easier so something like Air Rave x2/3 -> Sky Running. At first it kinda feels impossible to move between the analog and D-Pad that fast, but after a while it does get easier so don't feel dis-heartened by it, I'd recommend practicing things like side rave first as it feels like a nice stepping stone up to it.

Yusak Awondatu It's a debug mode feature, on the main menu there is an option for "Berials Flame" :)

Since SE is out I decided to finally learn Dante but I'm having trouble gaining Inertia in my combos. Especially with Full House. I feel as if im getting Full House to connect but everytime I JC it and follow with Rainstorm Dante never seems to gain inertia and just vertically dives downwards. Am I missing something when you said "JC a certain way"? maybe positioning or a height difference?

Mavari You're probably canceling it too early. The speed of the inertia depends on the speed you were traveling before you JCed, if you jump cancel Full House on start up before you actually started "moving" you won't get any inertia :)

Yeah Full House can be a bit odd to JC! but glad you managed to get it :) after a while you'll be able to hit it no worries. I'd probably try practicing against Berial or Mega-Scarecrows as they have a really big hitbox meaning you have more time to cancel the move, just bear in mind that scarecrows have their JC hitbox in their backs so try and do combos from behind or slightly above their head :)

Hey mate :) With Guard Flying you can actually pick the direction you want to "fly" in. But here's a breakdown to hopefully make it seem a little easier. The entire process is, (start in Trickster) Air Dash towards enemy > Switch to Royal Guard > Jump Cancel into Guard while holding a direction of your choice (You don't actually NEED to pick a direction, Dante will still Guard Fly regardless. But you can pick a direction here if you want to look flashy!) So the inputs are (with playstation default controls and starting in Trickster, let me know if you're an Xbox/Keyboard user) (Aerial) O > Down (D-pad) > Hold a direction if you want with the analog stick > (Jump Cancel) O and one more little explation of the etire thing, 1. Start in Trickster 2. Air Dash towards enemy (is easiest agaisnt Large enemies such as Berial, (the higher up you start everything, the easier it all is)) 3. Switch to Royal Guard 4. If there's a direction you want to Guard Fly in hold that direction with the analog stick (do not input to fly in the direction Dante is facing) 5.Jump Cancel into Style (aka Royal Guard) After you get the hang of that you can swap out stage 1 + 2 for other moves like Gilgamesh Dive Kick or a couple of others but for now just stick with that until you get a feel for things. It may seem tough at first but my best advice is just go slow at first and work on the inputs. If you play against Berial you have a fairly long time to do the inputs so it's best to get them right rather than try and rush. It's a strange technque that looks faster the quicker you do the inputs but you'll know when you've done it right even if you do it pretty slow ;) If you need more help with it let me know but good luck and let me know how you get on :D

Just one more thing, after stages 1 - 5 as long as you hold the O button (Style/Guard) you'll glide through the air If you want to change direction you just need to hold the desired direction and jump cancel back into Royal Guard. So, (While Guard Flying) Hold a direction with the analog stick > Jump Cancel into Style/Guard (Hold Style/Guard) It doesn't matter if there isn't an enemy to Jump Cancel off of in this step for some reason it still works

@khoaluong1861 if you're using Keyboard, make sure to use Mechanical Keyboard. Otherwise with regular membrane keyboard, some of inputs aren't registered. If you're using controller, PlayStation controller is better than XBox for Devil May Cry in general
