How is it still standing now? Have yog had any issues with it at all? We are building a lean to conservatory it's a full glass upvc, we already have a concrete base that was only put down last year, we want to put a second concrete base over the top of this to bring it up and 3 footings at the front for support do you think this is adiquate for what we are doing? Or would you advise taking up the current concrete base and starting again?

We use it as our dinning room all yeah round, we have a heavy 3 seater leather sofa in there and the kits are always playing in there all day and it's as good as it was when I built it only thing is coldest room in winter but that's all

Hi David, I didn't see you attach the wall plates to the inside of the walls. Did you not film that bit or is it not necessary to do it? If you were doing decking from your house you would use some bolts and physically attach the wall plate to the outside wall

No dpc under floor joists covering bare earth floor and the insulation is bare with no vapour barrier?

Damian G lots of doe under every joist the bear floor you will see if close is 8" hard core which is on a membrane which was done as part of the original house build but Damian you know if there's no UV there will be no growth even if it was bear earth as so many full houses of the old days had this and with no issues

moisture is was what i was wondering about not weeds aa there is no vapour barrier between earth and floor.

Damian G and nothing to retain the insulation and no air bricks for air flow , no mastic was applied between wall and frames, Cill and frames or frame and frame instead relying on external mastic seal and DPC under cill wasn’t bedded , and wooden packers under joists on damp slabs not a good idea either these small things add up and make a big difference

yes i got it from a guy on ebay and i had to take it down as part of the deal with some help

nice video David when l took up the hole of down stairs floor to put underfloor instillation l was advised to leave a g gap of about 30mm to help the air circulation

Harry Randles yes you must leave a gap under the floor and insulation for air but not above as any air flow above the insulation would transmit cold or it will just be dead air which will do no good, as you will see with mine a gap under of around 180mm but none should get to the underside of your floor or no point insulating in the first place, sorry a bit long a answer

Bikka UK no its not the main one is a toilet should have 2 door between a kitchen they are other issues as well but thats enough to say no dont do it

that would be hard to say as i had to do in any spare time i had but i started in November and we was using it fully by Christmas. so about a month
