Did you enjoy this full-length machining process? What other CNC processes would you like to see up close?

Hello Dmg Mori really liked the video, a really cool addition would be to give information on the speeds, feeds, depth of cut and so on.

Top machine!! Very interesting main spìndle chuck, quick change and posibility to work with bar feeder or 3 jaw chuck with robot load and unload, first time i see it and amazed about the posibilities and flexibility of this system

I'm surprised at how nonconcentric the handle appears when being center drilled at 4:26, it obviously was an optical illusion considering the next steps. What a neat machine, what an expensive hammer!
@illusiver28 күн бұрын
it wasn't an illusion it was running out a bit maybe 20-30 thousandths. When they turned it after putting the center in that will make it run perfectly concentric again.
@georgejackson479020 күн бұрын
It was probably because of the extreme heavy roughing or internal stresses In the material especially after the heat from extreme roughing. Very awesome machine though

why would you have the shaft counter rotating from the c'drill instead of holding it stationary?
@DMGMORIАй бұрын
Hello, we do that to ensure that the bore is centred in relation to the axis of rotation and therefore, in the middle of the axis and not offset in one direction. Your DMG MORI Social Media Team

Gonna look in the comments for the button punchers thinking they are actual machinists. You know, the type that say they can cut the cycle time in half and with half the tooling.

to remove the chamfer with a ball cutter, are you even crazy?! you spent a lot of time on an operation that could have been done in one pass.
@squirrelwood8008Ай бұрын
This is a demonstration piece. They are not pressed to minimize cycle time for mass production. Yes, there are better ways to do this for sure but that would not allow them to show what fancy things the machine can do.

Drilling should be done before rough turning, when the material is more stiff

but the drilled holes would knock the inserts to bits, and cause vibration marks ;)
@zupazdzichaАй бұрын
I don't know who the technologist is there, but I think he's some kind of fool. Do you make the overlay in after roughing as the shaft is flaccid???? Bravo, congrats on the idea, you can see in 4:16 how the shaft is crooked. A machine for 500000 euros and it makes a bubble like an old unrepaired machine tool with slide clearances of 0.5mm. Mori Seiki used to be a company, after the acquisition dmg is not the same - you can see the savings everywhere in these machines of yours.
@squirrelwood8008Ай бұрын
What you see at that timestamp is youtubes inherently flawed image stabilisation in action. The flashing background makes it think stuff is moving when it is not and it compensates for that erroneously. But you are free to believe otherwise.
@ironmask5308Ай бұрын
You sound like the average button puncher who dreams he is a real machinist.
@AlMg1SiCuАй бұрын
That is likely from internal stresses in the material. You can tell the person programming this knew what they were doing, as they roughed it out _before_ putting in the center hole and then finish turning it. Had they done this before roughing the final part would have become a banana as soon as the center was removed. They also spun both the part and the center drill to help ensure concentricity.
