Klokov is a great lifter with a great spirit and he is indeed a great sportsman character, but when talking about spirit and determination I have never seen someone like Akkaev. He is indeed the underdog. against all the odds in 2008, being pushed to compete in group B he still managed to get on the podium and I think, was he given the chance in group A he would have gotten at least silver. He managed to go up in weight class and win the world against other long time 105s.
@BrentstyleVibes12 жыл бұрын
There is no way to do that. The lifters and their entry totals are available from several weeks out of competition. For example you may find this on allthingsgym or the website of the olympics. And yes, Klokov vs Akkaev vs Aramnau (vs Dolega) would have been the battle of the century, I've spent 4 years waiting for it.

The premier event that never happened! I was so disappointed except for the Kazakhstan Ilya Ilyin who was an awesome surprise as was Svetlana Podobedova for the Kazakhstan women. As for Klokov and Akkaeve...Not sure if either man can continue at previous levels, though their prime years may be maxed out with recent injuries. So much stress on the joints and spine. Still they will be among the best ever.

i dunno if between the russians they'll try to break snatch record, i'm sure aramnau could edge them both in snatch, and most likely cj too, but it'd be interesting to see aramnau struggle for second consecutive gold

@MaximFIN88 I haven't heard that, thanks! But that's awesome, I hope he's back to his old self, if so, the 105 lineup will be beyond epic!

Might be, especially with big legs the calf and hamstring pressing into each other can affect the knee in a negative way.

He does some very unusual, extremely difficult training exercises: Jerk with a long pause in the dip position, Front squat with very long pause in bottom position, Snatches from a low platform. He does all these with big weights. Obviously he is building tremendous reserves for his competitive lifting. He also has superior speed and flexibility. Looks to me he has a very good chance at gold.

good thing for russian and most other eastern lifters is their qualifying events and national competition are typically untested, so they have free rain of use prepping for the olympics, which is why very few canadian and american lifters do well in the olympics, too much bs'ing around avoiding tests to qualify to really prepare properly, a lot go to mexico for this purpose...but still isnt enough
@dan7edan7e12 жыл бұрын
180+220@111 is very, VERY low in terms of Olympics. I understand he will peak out during Summer, but nevertheless that's a huge gap he has to cover. London 105kg weightlifting will be super-intense, and if you are aiming for medals - absolutely nothing to do there with less than 420kg sum.

@MrShady20999 жыл бұрын
silver lemons I dunno man honestly people only really started talking about Ilya Ilyn since the 2012 games, and again with his 242CAJ. But if you look he won by bodyweight... Look at Liao hui, Lu Xiaojun, or Kim Un-Guk. Liao won by like 25kg, in 2014, and something similar in 2013, Lu also something close to 20kg in 2013 worlds,and Kim by something close to 10kg in 2014. They dont just win their categories, they dominate it. So no I dont agree that Ilya is the best lifter of the century. The only competition Ilya crushed everyone else was in 2012, yet he changed of category out of fear I believe. If you actually watched the Khaza nationals youd see that theyre were 2 other lifters in the 94KG that were just as good as Ilya I believe.

anything over a gram a week of test is a waste for strength purposes, 1g of test say stacked with 500-750mg of tren, and maybe some halotestin last few weeks...if you have to blast more than that you were never gonna be world class anyway...plus not to mention a decade of use on top of consistant training to be anywhere close to this

David Lendl Yeah... well a fiew things wrong with this statement... well first of all, There are other great russian lifter, like Apti Aukhadov, Ivanov, who won olympic silver medals as well in the olympics. Hes not even the best Russian lifter of his weightclass! Look at Akkaev who was in the same weightclass as Klokov and beated him. Hes famous for looking good, not being the very best. You obviously dont know weightlifting.
