I am not sure if you are aware of this but Ancient Rules can only special summon normal monsters. You cant use it with DMoC. But you can use it with DM and then use the spell to tribute DM and special summon DMoC. And it doesnt have an animation because Yugi never used in the anime

Try using Peten the Dark Clown with Jester. Summoning Peten will more or less guarantee a monster on your side of the field for next turn, then summon a Jester and you can tribute for one of your DMoC or DM if you run it later easily.

You have to use the quick play spell that allows you to tribute DM for Dmoc. It's simple my lad, it helps to stop bricking. Gunsblazing and Duel Links Meta have really good decks for Dmoc.

This. Dedication Through Light and Darkness is key, as it lets you drop DM for DMOC during the Battle Phase, letting you get off an extra attack, or you can ditch a DM that's been hit by Wall of D., Floodgate Traphole, Megamorph, etc. Beyond that, Roll N' Boost is a good choice on Shady's part, but Mausoleum of the Emperor is recommended to make DM/OC easier to get out, and I'd probably drop any Traps that aren't Escape from the Dark Dimension, so that Nobleman is less likely to backfire. Also, Ancient Rules is not half bad for this deck, but it can definitely wind up a dead card, so don't sweat not having it yet.

Try it with Mokuba. Evolving Dark Magician Girl to Dark Magician or Dark Magician to Dark Magician of Chaos without using Sages or Dedication can be insane.

Hey shady of you really want to keep using the double coston, you could try a feint plan, and to go with that ready for intercepting or magical hats which would stop your opponent from attacking it, flip Dmoc the next turn get back econ or anti-magic and win

I personally also use 2-3 dak magicians and dedication through light and darkness to get DMOC it the game as quicly as possible if I don't draw DMOC and yami with yami yugi to boost him even more and give my trib monsters more survivability with wonder balloons and shard of greed as a backup if I dont get dedication or dm or DMOC

You should try & make a Mokuba De Evolution skill build.. The build can potentially otk by using Cosmo Queen (or a bricked DMOC in hand.. however Cosmo queen is also good since it can be used as fodder for Common Charity/Escape from the D.D. plays) for Mokuba's skill s.s. Dank Magician from the deck then chain Dedication through light & darkness to s.s. DMOC. (this combo also sets up Birthright plays) Decklist idea: (Minus s/t fodder like Econ/Anti Meme Arrows etc) 2 Dmoc 3 Dank Magicians (maybe run @ 2 if it gets bricky) 3 Cosmo Queen (maybe run @ 2 if it gets bricky) 3 Marmiting Captain (at least 2) 2 Blue Dragon Summoner/Jester Magician (search options) 3 Mausoleum of the Emperor (Mainly used to summon your lvl 8 beaters & trigger skill) 1 Dank Magic Attack 2 Ancient Rules &/or Swing of Memes 2 Dedication Through Light & Darkness 2 Common Charity 2 Birthright 2 Escape from the D.D. Magical Exemplar can easily get up to 8 counters if you run 3 Spell Power Grabs. Using that one card gives Exemplar 3 counters and it allows you to search another one, thus also thinning your deck. Spell Power Grab THE card that makes spell counters viable.
