All, one thing I neglected to mention in text on video is that all of my responses here are sarcastic and joking. If you don’t know by now that I have a rather dry sense of humor, I apologize. Just know that no silly poll is going to dissuade me from posting the content that I find interesting, informative, and enjoyable.

David . . . I think the Building and Covering segment is a very real need in the community. Old School Master Builder/Designers like me are a dying breed. Most interested in the hobby today are younger folks who simply do not have the skill set . . that said there are youtube channels out there that cover this subject very well. No need for you to go down that particular rabbit hole ;) Keep doing what you are doing.

David, do what you love or really want to do. We either watch or not. I didn't react to the poll simply because I had to make a choice. Have enjoyed most of your content. Edit the run videos and show the highlights. The nueonces are lost on video anyway. Most people don't hear the changes you make and are recording. Maybe why the run videos are not fully watched. Do what you love to do. That's what people want to see.

Dear David, when I returned to the hobby some 8 years ago I had to catch up with all the "new". Your channel gave me a good start in "how to" with the used engines I bought.. THANK YOU for that !! If you are interested. Reviewing various engine modifications like how the Saito R3 manifolds are done and how to convert in order to have the engines run better. In short.. MODIFICATIONS.

I have watched most of your videos end to end since I found your channel. In particular I have watched a lot of glow engine runs, tear downs and repairs. They have been really helpful to me. I like videos under 30 minutes but if well done watch longer ones too. Keep doing whatever you enjoy and you will find an audience. A little diversity in content is great. Thanks for all your hard work putting these together for us.

Dave, I believe I selected the building and covering but I really wanted to select all. I've really enjoyed all the newer "old school" videos, both plane and magazines. Please just have fun. Mostly I've enjoyed you renewed excitement in the building and the planes in these newer videos.

Hello David. I like your channel. It’s like an encyclopedia. I haven’t seen another channel like yours. I have learned so many things (mostly for 4 stroke engines) and I enjoyed it a lot. And I have repaired my O.S. FS 52 Surpass with a bigger ring but to fit it I’ve filed it and it’s perfect. I’m happy now.

David, your videos remind me of my childhood. Watching your videos brings back fond memories. I, like you have a love for glow engines. When I was a kid I read every thing I could find on the subject and my father who was an aircraft mechanic during WW2 also taught me an awful lot about how these amazing little power plants work. It's nice to have someone with knowledge and experience with model glow engines on KZbin. I love your videos! Keep it up!! P.S I'm also a cat lover.

Sorry I missed the poll, David. For me, the engine videos are priceless. Some of the engine videos I must've watched multiple times to learn how you did certain things. For example the videos on the Enya 46 4s were Extremely useful to me and helped me overhaul and tune 2 engines. I honestly love all your videos and i watch them all. Thank you

Please share those old magazines. They bring such joy. As far as building, I agree with you it’s a solo event that I am currently experiencing with a scratch build, don’t need to see it but I would watch and maybe learn something.

I enjoyed watching work on airplanes. It seemed like you were getting an enjoyment out of it and maybe returning to the hobby but you doing your engines is always what I find More interesting. As you have access to more engines than I do. It's neat to see which them run or what they're capable of doing. Also I did enjoy you going over the magazines and old ADS.But the pole only allowed you to pick one.
@louisianaredneck75352 күн бұрын
You put a poll with opinions we we thought they were all an opinion. I like the engine videos but other than that the most interesting opinion to me was the building and covering. It is old school and most people do not do it anymore. Seeing people do it is something I like watching step by step. Most people only show the highlights and a person can not learn much from completed steps sitting on a table. They learn from watching someone do them. I am not trying to sound rude but I like watching people build and cover RC planes. Thanks for taking the time to show and explain the things you do on your channel.

I'm as shocked as you are right now David. Your database on glow engines is a main resource for me when I'm planning to buy , just bought or need to refurbish an engine I have. In fact your channel has invigorated my enthusiasm for glow engines and the need for them. I want to thank you for your efforts and success at bringing relevance to the engines that propelled the hobby into the 21st century. There is a reason gas/spark ignition engines yielded to glow engines in the past and I'd like to think there is still a future for glow yet to come. Even if it will be for nostalgia alcohol engines produce more power and who cares about fuel prices. Hobbies... all hobbies are expensive every person I know has one and so what if it costs $100 more a year for fuel , I have spent 10 times that in a day unrelated to propulsion in this hobby. Anyway.... keep doing what you do!! I personally like the magazine articles and especially engine videos. Sorry I missed the POLL.

I voted for building and covering for 2 reasons. It is an area of weakness for me in the hobby, and after seeing some of the color schemes in the Sig catalog, I wanted to be able to cover like that. By all means, take the path you see fit.
@dmrcflyr22 күн бұрын
Well my covering schemes were always very simple. I never did anything elaborate. Never had the desire nor the patience to do that. By that point in the build I simply wanted to fly and be able to tell the difference from top and bottom.

Hey Dave, your response to the poll results indicate that the options you gave indicate that you had no intentions to do what you proposed and only wanted validation for the one option you truly wanted folks to support-- reading magazines on KZbin. I personally like your engine vids...which I voted for. I'm sorry you're upset that folks didn't want to go for what you wanted.

Oh I think I misunderstood the "building and covering" one, probably a language issue. I thought this meant the videos where you open engines or "rebuild" them, so opening them up, look inside, and so on.
@dmrcflyr2Күн бұрын
How do you build and cover an engine? Obviously I have been showing the SIG Kadet wing where I was ‘building’ the final parts of the wing and then ‘covering’ it with monokote.
@yanicks9040Күн бұрын
@ no idea I’m not part of the flyer hobby so I didn’t watch that video, I only care about the engines so I didn’t know those terms. I assumed the last option is purely running engines and the third one means the ones where you are working on engines.

@barryhobbs86952 күн бұрын
I probably wouldn’t read too much into the results because people could only select one result. I don’t think it means only 4% would watch a video on rc magazines, it means only 4% would prefer that overall. Out of interest how do your recent views look like on the magazine videos?
@dmrcflyr22 күн бұрын
Not bad really. Anywhere between 430-800 views depending on the length of time that have been released. That is why I was asking for those that voted in the poll to speak up if possible and explain.
