Nice job ! To remove camshaft bearing, one tip is to push wax (from a candle) in the center with a wood stick.

Yes I have done that before. I have a video showing that, but it is not an easy thing to do.

Ha thanks for the tribute! 😀 Not much for a tea drinker (my wife is though) but no denying that its good healthy stuff. Actually my intro beverage used to be Diet Mt Dew but I got away from drinking pop...ill have a pop on occasion. But anyways, the finish on that engine is amazing!

Vapor honing uses micro glass beads, air pressure and water to achieve this quality of finish. It really is a type of resurfacing. Anybody interested can search KZbin for “ vapor honing”. Tons of videos out there showing the process.

Amazing have looked at some DIY vapor honing stuff in the past. Don't know if i am willing to go that route for something i would only need a few times a year. Got to find the magic brew for ultrasonics. Lol.

Well, knowing the number of folks that have been screwed over using LA’s Totally awesome cleaner I figure, someone with this type of equipment and knowledge might do some decent business with it. If they were so inclined. Honestly the finish Jay put on my FS-20 far exceeds what it looked like from the factory.

Looks nice and shiny again. The OS FS 20 is one of my favorite glow engines.

It would be INCREDIBLE if someone (your budddy?) could do a video on the tools/process to restore an engine to that incredible standard. Super impressive!!!

Hi David, this may be a silly question but here goes. I have an OS 26FS and a Saito 82a that i fly. both are mounted vertically. i never thought about this before but recently looking at the engines, i thought, how the heck do the rockers and pushrods get lubricated? fuel doesnt get up there, or is something pressurized to send it up there? i wouldn't think so with the crank vent letting pressure out of the lower end. would love an explanation of the 4 stroke upper end lubrication....... thanks!!!! - Chris

No, it is not a silly question. Have you ever removed the valve covers on a Saito or OS four stroke engine that has several runs on it? You will see oil up there. Oil migrates up the pushrods tubes through the course of running. Some manuals also state to lubricate the area prior to use. The latest Saito manuals mention to do it when checking the valve lash. I prefer to do it on a new engine prior to the first run. It is always a good practice to ensure any mechanical moving parts have a bit of lubrication on them prior to use.

Very cool. I really like these small four strokers. Curious, where do you get new gaskets for these older engines that haven't been in production for some time?

Is it possible to do a video that explains the vapor honing process of your engine? The finish looks fantastic. Not sure if your friend would record some content for you to share but that would also be cool. I have heard of it in the automotive industry but hadn’t imagined it for glow engines.
