For what it’s worth, I appreciate your explanation, not just with the music, but the culture. Keep going. Your questions come across as something obvious sometimes, but in America we’ve grown up with a very national mindset, leading us to believe the rest of the world is lesser, as well keeping us from understanding the global world. Asia is huge, even within China, there are many different languages (Mandarin is just the common one) and dialects. Not everyone’s first language is mandarin in China.
@MissSmartypants5555 ай бұрын
Different asian countries have different histories and cultures as well as different languages and alphabets. Chinese, Japanese and Korean languages are all different. For example Estonia and Ukraine are right next to each other but their languages are completely different and aren't even related.

To some people your questions may aeem like things you should know but i appreciate your willingness to ask publically. There are no stupid questions, and I think it is great that you have the interest to ask. I appreciate your honesty about the song. You are not going to like every single song, and I would prefer an honest reaction than pretending you love everything. I definitely recommend you watch Festa Room Live 2021. It is a medley of parts of B-sides, one from each album from 2013 to 2020.

It’s a fair, if ignorant, question. English IS spoken across multiple Western countries. Spanish IS spoken across a LOT of countries. Portuguese is spoken both in Portugal in Europe and Brazil in South America. At least you made it clear it was a real question based on lack of knowledge, not because “it’s all the same!”

BTS tend to release albums in three part trilogies. This is from the Love Yourself trilogy--the first album called Love Yourself Her--this album talks about young love/new love/puppy love/immature love/etc....that kind of vibe. The second album in the trilogy talks about more mature love and the "dark" side of love with all the pain and anxiety, etc that comes with love. The 3rd album talks about how you have to love yourself first before you can love anyone else. So, when you know some of the background about the themes, the lyrics make more sense.

Hello guys, good night on this side of the world. I am a 48-year-old ARMY, and I have been following the boys since 2017. First of all, thank you very much for giving BTS a chance, listening to their music and getting to know them. Second, if I want to hear only good things about my idols, I look for a fan channel. If I go to a reaction channel, I go to that, to see the reaction of someone who is seeing something for the first time. And if you are going to see something unknown, it is very likely that you will speak from ignorance, and make unfortunate comments. The rest, we followers, will see if we follow and guide you, so that you educate yourself on the subject, or I simply didn't like the comment and I don't see you anymore... But as the Tanies teach us, do no harm, if you didn't like it, step aside. You continue with your channel project, as you want and see fit, if you follow them good, if not, good too. I hope with all my heart that you continue watching the boys' videos and lyrics. They can react to... I didn't watch you enough to know if you're joking, but just in case...korean and chinese are very different languages, even the alphabet is different. It's not even similar sounding. BTS have many sounds but the music videos/ main singles from albums are many times the most pop-sounding songs for obvious reasons. Don't know what you usually like, but if you want to watch live performances- maybe try Outro :Tear (just the 3 rappers), Run BTS, Young forever (this one has an MV but it's part of a long fictional story so the video itself will not make much sense to you), I need you (also has music video, same situation with Forever young). They also have japanese songs btw, Film out is one of them (has a music video, I recommend live). If you watch a live performance just write BTS "song name" live eng sub , and you will most likely find something with subtitles, just follow the no of views (or make a post and ask the audience for a link and you'll be safe)

The Korean language actually isn't closely related to any other language, according to most linguists. It may be part of the Altaic language family, but even that is not certain. Chinese, on the other hand, is one of the major branches from the Sino-Tibetan language family. To put this in more familiar terms, English is part of the Germanic branch of the Indo-European language family. So Korean and Chinese are from separate families, just like Chinese and English. However, China and Korea had a lot of contact over the last couple thousand years, so there are now a lot of borrowed Chinese words in Korean, and the Korean language was written in Chinese characters until King Sejong ordered the creation of the Korean alphabet in the 1440s. Probably more than you wanted to know! 🙂

The language of Korea is called Hangul, and Hangul was created in 1446 by King Sejong for the people who did not know Chinese characters. That is why the Korean people respect King Sejong.

Hey bro, I don't blame time for being "culturally ignorant" and not knowing, because many people don't know, just like how many K-pop idols didn't know the difference between cultural appropriation and appreciation, especially from the past when they were not educated on certain do's and don'ts in neutral things that may potentially bother some people, and others not. So to answer brother man's question, yes there is a difference aside from the countries itself, they actually speak different languages. And even though Spaniards and Latinos speak spanish, one is more Caucasian spanish, being the Spaniards and have a different dialect, closer to latin, and others is more Afrocentric Spanish. That may have seemed a bit confusing, but there's dialects via accents, and then there's completely different languages as a whole. As well as the different cultures that stem from each country and have their own individualism so I'm actually grateful and thankful to you for throwing that out there because you're not the only one that was and is Curious Enough and Especially not shy, Tosimply ASK the question to Alleviate those ignorances. So KUDOS to you &yall 😁👏🏾. Keep up the True 👍🏾 good work guys.

the more and more i come across your channel the better you're getting and the less "hate" comments i see on your videos. keep going eventually the ones who are aggressive or slightly hateful will accept you or stop watching. a lot of armys internationally especially English speaking ones tend to forget how much ignorance they had when they first found bts the difference is most of us didn't film ourselves learning. ive been a army since 2018 and truly didn't feel like one until 2019 due to learning the cultural differences the ways of koreas industry and how different bts are comparably as well as learning about my ignorance and biased thinking due to our media, news, politics and overall representation of asian cultures through movies and tv which was very very little and most of the time incorrect information and misrepresentation playing off stereotypes sometimes even racist and since it wasnt called out many went on continuing to think it was ok to say or remembering information that turns out to be false and insulting. its not our faults for learning that way but it is our jobs to unlearn as we get older and research ourselves to know true information. which many armys and kpop stans in general did by learning about kpop and korea then researching more deeply while trying foods, watching movies and tv shows and learning the differences in what our history books say vs their versions in their countries because a lot of what were taught is u.s centric how it impacted us what we did during this or that time etc while they have so much deep history we never heard about and even things we learned are opposite or not even truth in their versions of course we weren't around for majority of old history so we never will know the truth but its better to not believe your own countries truth and never learn others regardless of who you think is the real truth changing perspective and learning about other countries helps us understand them deeper as people etc so hopefully you both continue your bts journey while continuing to learn about korea as well as many other countries in general. knowledge is power and leads to peace.

Hi guys I can understand his can confusion here is my best go at an explanation the language changes even by region some Chinese speak Mandarin and sometimes they speak Cantonese where as Korean people speak Korean but but depending on where you are in Korea the language changes a little. Like people from Busan may speak a little bit different then people from another province. Maybe if you start to watch some k-drama vs c drama you will be able to pick up the difference. Also its okay not to like every song if you can let us know what you usually listen to then we could probably recommend a song or five that you would like play for instance if you like a rock j-hope more if you like jazz v slow dancing also don't worry about the haters you guys are good at least you're trying to learn which is appreciated!
