I feel like all the original ss 54 needed was a gun and a better chest and here they are. The fact the gun blends into the jet is a huge bonus. I look forward tomorrows review (hope it’s tarn he’s one of my favourite transformers and I am so glad we are actually getting a figure).

I really wish there was also an articulated mace. It was so iconic how he deployed that thing and started swinging it around. It wouldn't make this kit worth $30 but it would at least make the price seem a bit more reasonable and I honestly can't think of anything else this figure was lacking.

When the DK-35 upgrade for the ss54 was announced back around July or August, I was bit disappointed that there wasn’t one for the premium one as I planned to get the premium finish one at the time. After it was announced there would also be one for the premium finish version, I was happy to hear that because there are fans who don’t have the original and have the premium only and want to upgrade their premium.

The only thing it's missing for an upgrade of 2007 Megatron live action Studio series is his thighs and the part of the leg to look more like the CGI rendered Megatron design movie.

Can't wait to get this for mine! This is a great set and greatly improves the figure, my biggest issues with the regular figure were the chest and chunky legs. There isn't much to be done with the chunky due to the transformation, but this fixes the biggest of those issues and give us the cannon. Awesome stuff!

I was thinking about buying the Premium Finish for Megatron but I was hesitant just due the chest looking weird, I guess using the same mold from ROTF Megatron is what threw me off. Now I think I'm confident in my decision to purchase Meg, with the forethought of the upgrade kit in mind alongside it Thanks Prime! Helped a lot!!

When I first got the SS 54 Megatron, my first hope was that they would make a more accurate flail weapon, like one that actually is on a chain or something. I need to look into getting this set.

I don't know if you're going to be looking at any more bei wei figures, but if you are you have to get the Megatron. It's essentially the premium finish with the DNA kit but I think it has better painting then that to be honest

The funny thing is that awhile before this set came out, there was an entire KO of SS54 with the correct chest and the cannon - I dunno, I think that you may have actually reviewed it - but the chest on the KO was done in a way that somehow made it a little taller, but it threw the proportions off a bit (arms are still in the same spot). That said, this looks better... despite the horrific price hikes.

Just looking at this figure yesterday. Wondering how much a new chest would change the look of the figure. Quite a lot. But don’t think another 30 bucks is worth it for this figure. Maybe if the set came with a few other accessories. Like some real chains or even some ice effects. Also anyone else remember that fast action battler Megatron? That look the most accurate in Bot mode out of the 2007 figures.

Tbh the thing with this figure is the legs, I really don’t like how the legs have had to be done to make the wings, I’m not to sure how I would have changed it to accommodate the wings for vehicle though

To be honest, man, the MPM Megatron is a bit of a dumper for me. The backpack is just absurd and the fact that it passed for MPM while their SS figure looks THIS good is equally absurd. I’m just blown away by Hasbro is all when it comes to that. For me, it’s the SS Megatron. Blows MPM out of the water, and with this upgrade kit? Bruh. It’s over. The competition is officially over.
