I’m so proud of you having gotten the upgrade kit finally Bert! It’s a real beauty isn’t it? I love it so much and I’m gonna get it once I get Legacy Animated Optimus! I love everything about it, from how it completes the truck mode and adds to the robot mode. I loved the Water cannon homage to Cybertron Optimus (knowing Hasbro, it’s no coincidence!). The mouth plate is what I wanted for the figure from day one and (I know you don’t like it, but) I don’t mind the X-ray goggles (the blue ones), I think it’s not necessary but Hasbro went ahead and did it anyway. You did a great job going through every single detail! 👍

To add some context about the Kirby Captain America/Thor ish visor that Optimus had it was from Animated's original concept name Transformers: Heroes and the G1 Ultra Magnus lookin' feet are from Eric Siebaneiler's concepts for a Powermaster Optimus Prime from Animated's unmade 4th season.

I miss when we regularly got upgrade forms for characters, and I am glad that Hasbro is finally bringing them back. And I am even more glad that dedicated fans are ready and willing to pick up the slack whenever Hasbro forgets.

I get mine tomorrow just having animated Optimus be the complete fire truck is already enough of a sell for me but having it turn into the wing blade form is a great bonus

i just got this kit today and i have to say this is a really good kit. also Bert the back pack is notched so that his cannons can be pointed strait up. also his ladder accessory is a nod to Cybertron Prime. even the Galaxy upgrade in siege. particularly the left cannon. really cool kit. i recommend. great review!!

That’s a great looking upgrade kit! It’s been a while since I’ve seen one as great looking as that. I almost wanna get that Prime figure just to pair it up with the kit. Even with the price for it in most places I’ve seen online looking a bit scary. If you want to fix the loose joint problem on your Animated Prime here there’s ways to fix it. Ranging from putting in some glue or floor polish into the joints or some dedicated joint tightening fluids being sold online.

This version is ok. I still prefer the original 2010 takara Wingblade Optimus Prime. I own that toy and it weighs a ton. Thick plastics and no holes or gaps. Good old times.
