The second Pally was a late joiner and showed up after the first one was splattered. The second Paladin was actually really fun though, he was a nature Paladin who was essentially PETA. He just got resurrected actually. They managed to beat the campaign.

My favorite joke is the timer at the beginning of the dungeon where the party is meant to panic and try and flip the lever but if they do they get laughed at and dropped in a pit.
@17joren2 жыл бұрын
I love the obelisk at the entrance, housing a nalfeshnee (pig demon). PCs can simply read the carved clues, shrug, and move on into the dungeon. Or you can have the whole party topple it for some reason and spawn a demon way overpowered for their level 😂 Puffinforrest’s channel has a funny video about this happening.

I only just started playing DND and this is the first campaign that i'm involved in and listening to this i can't help but feel that this is the wrong place to start, because i'm not even remotely attached to the character i created and i don't know what it's like to fall back on something like a revival spell if my character dies so when he talks about how the fact that you can revive your characters is essentially gone from the game and that helps drive home the fear the players are supposed to have as a result, i look back on the campaign so far and all i remember thinking when my character was on the verge of dying was "oh well, i guess i'll just roll a new character, no biggie" i probably wouldn't have felt that way if i was a slightly more seasoned player or if this was a character i played with for a long time.

@@VividGrease honesty after having run CoS it would be pretty easy if you started with it to convert to this story line because of the way the mist works in the land of Barovia, once the players are returned back to their plane of existence you could very easily drop them somewhere like the Port in ToA.

Kyle Hansen If you like dark themes or just good adventures overall I'd go for Curse of Strahd anyday, in my opinion it's by far the best official adventure to date
@kyleh13587 жыл бұрын
Jelke Ludolphy thanks for the recommendation. I can kind of gather from looking at them, general feel type themes. I know SKT is probably a standard high fantasy one. I think I'm wondering from a creation standpoint about the themes that were written in from the beginning. I wonder if Todd Kenreck could ask that as a question to the main writers on each adventure. What themes were they thinking of when it was written. It seems each adventure focuses on a monster type (dragon, vampire, giant, demons, etc...), and specific themes. The monsters are easy to see, but I'd be interested in a video about the themes in the writing process.

When we played it - honestly - the way to the tomb was sometimes wayyyyy to long. Most of our players got no energy left and their interest for the story faded away after sessions and sessions and sessions in the jungle. "Oh we are finaly at the tomb? I don't care anymore anyway but let's just finish it."

Hmm, I'll gonna have to retool this a bit, I don't allow revivify/raise dead/resurrection type spells in my game, they simply don't exist, when you die that's it. Maybe I'll make it so when people die their souls aren't going to the correct realms, they're being waylaid, and the powers that be track that effect to Chult. Or the great powerful people in the world who HAVE cheated death through some sort of magical clones, lichdom, wish, etc. are rotting away
