One topic I'd love to see you chat about in books in bed is the whole topic of character driven stories vs plot driven. Your opinions, thoughts on some books that fall into each category and seeing you talk about the pros and cons of each as well as some recommendations would be a super interesting topic. :)

Last Read: Fantastic Four (2018) Vol. 1: Fourever by Dan Slott. This was fine for a first instalment, but something felt off about it and I can’t quite put my finger on it, and I don’t recommend this for first-time Fantastic Four readers. Current Read: Rogues by Joshua Williamson. Can’t really say much about because I only recently started it, but it is about a bunch of supervillains pulling off a heist or some criminal act “one last time”. Next Read: Not really sure, I’m kind of a mood reader myself sometimes 😅

i feel like we always get a new books before bed episode at the right time. it's been a long day of work, i have a few packages to open (most of which are book related) and i needed something to put on in the background--what better than a video that brings me comfort. i honestly do love the night vibe but i didn't realize i was missing it until you said something lol. i usually watch before bed so it just fits, but daytime episodes can't do any harm. thank you for another books before bed!!

some topics you can talk about: - what are some of your favourite book adaptations? or books you'd like to see adapted? - books you love but don't talk about enough on your channel - bookmark collection run through - pin collection - if you could craft the perfect book for yourself, what elements would it have? (eg: genre, subgenre, tropes, types of characters,..)

Thoughts I had while watching: Not me being scared that you were going to DNF The Heroes of Olympus! 😅😂 I series I DNFed was Wings series by Aprilynne Pike. I read the first two books and didn’t enjoy either of them. 😕 I finally realized, “Why am I trying to finish when I don’t even like the series?” So, yeah. 😂 I’m currently watching Camp Cretaceous and it’s so fun! Hope you enjoy!!! Last: Princess Princess Ever After by Kay O’Neill Current: Perfectly Parvin by Olivia Abtahi Next: I’m not sure yet! The mood reader in me will decide. 😂 Suggestion for future BBB episodes: You could talk NA (New Adult) age category! Why publishers won’t make it, if it should be a thing, etc.

I love these videos. Very cozy, hanging out in your besties room vibe! Possible topics of conversation* -Maybe reading a passage from a book that made it your fav/ or not like it. Really break down the feelings it made you feel. - Talking about how mood reading works for you, what do you look for when your sad/mad/happy/anxious... - Are there books you can always re-read that help you with your reading slumps? - A breakdown of what you love and hate about audiobooks For other videos * - I would love to see you come up with a short soundtrack for whatever books you pick - More Manga!!! Or Manwah. Do you have an art style preference? Do you like long running stories? Or one and done? Is it as varied as your normal reading? Do you ever de-clutter them? Honestly just love your videos! Thanks for all your hard work!!!

I feel like there are three reasons we DNF series'. 1. We 'grow out of them' Sometimes you just feel like you've moved on from a series and you just aren't that interested anymore. It may be due to waiting a long time for a sequel or it could simply be that a childhood favourite isn't as good as you remember. (I personally feel this way about Fourth Wing and Iron Flame, I'm not sure if I want to go on to Onyx Storm) 2. Not enjoying the direction of a story or your favourite character dies. Sometimes a series just changes the main plot or the main end goal and you just aren't as interested in it anymore, and sometimes it can simply be anger at the author for killing off your favourite character (Ash Princess Trilogy, I'm looking at you!) And sometimes it's 3. You just get fed up. Maybe you've just had enough. You lose interest in the story or the characters or maybe you reach the end of a book and you feel satisfied with where the characters are and you don't need any more closure on the book. Maybe it's a book that didn't really need a sequel, or maybe it's a series that was continued later. (A ballad of songbirds and snakes and Family of liars fall into this category for me) Anyway, I think these are three of the main reasons we give up on series. Maybe it's just me but when I DNF it's usually for one of those three reasons. I hope this was insightful and thanks to anyone who took the time to read this. I hope you have a wonderful day

ahha funny im actually reading brigid kemmerer books rn, i literally finished a heart so fierce and lonely yesterday and goin to read 3rd book next few days, and then start her defy the night trilogy. im enjoying her books so far but they pretty standard ya and insta love. but super easy and fast to read i love that chapters are short. im not into comtemporary books tbh i ve a few on my tbr but dont feel like readin em tbh haha i recently dnfed king of scars and unhauled the grishaverse trilogy, i read the shadow and bones trilogy and six of crows duology back in the day and i had king of scars duology back then but idk why i didnt start it right away i think bc i was just caught up on other books but yeh i had been meanin to every year read king of scars duology so i could be done with the grishaverse books bc i like the world of the books, and this year was finally the one i picked up king of scars a few months ago and idk i was forcing myself to read it even tho i felt like read other books/startin another series, but i got thru the middle of king of scars and i decided to dnf it just bc im just not interested and captivated anymore and just dont care as much. i wanted to read it to complete the whole grishaverse books and bc im curious how its gonna end but ig just not enough to read both of these books which are so big. im also unhauling all the grishaverse books trying to sell em tbh. same thing with all shadowhunter books (her last hours trilogy was it for me tbh i read em but they were soo boring and repetitive and long) plus all these books i just dont see myself re readin em and they take soo much space. i do think i wanna at least read wicked powers trilogy when it comes out but we will see. also i feel like sword catcher is gonna be similar structure to her shadowhunter books so we will see how that goes when i read book1. im also at that phase where ill read a book and ill put it in the pile to unhaul it even if ive enjoyed it bc idk i just dont think ill re read it and plus one less book takin space and no need to keep it. i wanna read red queen series ive book1. im also just buyin sequels after i read book 1. i also wanna try to get books from my local library, they dont have a lot of the books i want etc but for now its better (the library in the city is a bit far and wouldve to spend money buyin metro tickets which is annoyin plus the waitin dates are long but they do have a wide selection of books) it sucks i cant auto renew books in my local library tho :c so only have 21 days to read a book.

I think I’m more likely to finish an entire series if it is completed and all books are published and available. If I have to wait a year or more between books I’m less likely to pick up the next one because I feel like I have to reread the previous ones to pick up the details again.

I DNFed a series because I didn't love it and it was 11 books long. They changed who the main characters were in each book but kept them connected in one way or another to previous characters. I mostly dnf a series when they become highly repetitive. I read mostly romance, so there are lots of series. But each book needs to bring something fresh. I have found pacing out series instead of binge reading them has helped with burnout. My last read was Bromantic Puckboy by Saxon James and Eden Finley. Next read is Hyde and Seek by Layla Frost, which may be a dnf, but I just feel I need to see it for myself based off of a negative review. Yup I am that person. That would be a good topic: Do you ever feel compelled to read a book after hearing a negative review? Did it go well or should you have listened to the warning?

We often see continuations of series that feel like unnecessary additions. I wonder if there are any books or series that you actually think could use a sequel/continuation?

Really the only reasons I will DNF a series is if I stop liking the books, or if the author does something so heinous I don't want to support them in any way. I refuse to force myself to read books I'm not interested in just because they're part of a series; I will hard DNF that. My last read was The Lost Plot by Genevieve Cogman (#4 in The Invisible Library series, which I love), my current read is This Poison Heart by Kalynn Bayron, and my next read is either Soul of the Sword by Julie Kagawa or An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir.

I also DNF’d Red Queen so I’m glad I’m not alone!

I also dnf’d the Red Queen series after the second book for the same reason and I also have all the books past me believing that I would eventually continue😅

I thought I was the only one who felt that way about the Red Queen series. The third book was a struggle for me to get through, and by the time I got to the fourth book, book three was so bad that I couldn’t read the fourth one. It was painful to think about reading the fourth one.

I’ve had Red Queen sitting on my shelf for 7 years now and the more I hear about it, the less I want to get to it😂 should’ve just read it when I got ittttt
