It's interesting you mentioned the shutter sound that you cannot turn off in phones sold in Japan. I learned that it's SIM-card dependent. If you use a Japanese iPhone outside Japan with a SIM card from a non-Japanese carrier, there is no shutter sound. Though... I was just in Japan recently as well and a lot of my friends who live there had iPhones where the shutter sound didn't go off. Either they bought the phone overseas or they used an app that does not trigger the shutter sound.

What's the warranty situation since you bought it outside the States? Do you have to send it back to Japan so Apple can service it, or will they honor and service it within the States?
@Denki Жыл бұрын
I'll probably have to get it serviced in Japan, but I am there often enough where I can make that happen should issues occur.
@bubbledoubletrouble Жыл бұрын
If you purchase AppleCare+, you can get it serviced wherever there’s an Apple store (barring lack of parts; each phone actually has four variants); otherwise warranty coverage only applies in the country you purchased it in.

The 15 Pro is fine, it's just the 15 Pro Max that's really suffering. If you haven't watched the JerryRigEverything video for yourself, I recommend you do. @wd8005 Жыл бұрын
If you’re in the US just take a trip to Canada and buy a Canadian iPhone 15. Same model number as the Japanese iPhone but you can turn off the shutter sound whenever you please. You can turn off the shutter sound of Japanese iPhone as long as it’s on iOS 15 or higher, the phone is located outside Japan AND you insert a Sim from a non Japanese Carrier. Even if you use your Japanese iPhone outside Japan without inserting a sim, you can’t turn off the shutter sound again. You must insert a non Japanese Sim Card to be able to turn off shutter sound. Beware that if you put the Japanese iPhone in Airplane mode, you can’t turn off the shutter sound again same thing if you visit Japan even if you have a non Japanese sim card, the iPhone will detect you’re in Japan and you can’t turn off the Shutter Sound again.

14 pro is not a good deal at all. Since the port change has happened, you should go with regular 15 if you wanna save money or if money isn’t an issue, go for the 15 pro. Since you’re coming from 12, you won’t feel the 15’s lack of pro motion display. I’m currently using the 13 mini and have an iPad Pro with pro-motion display and even I don’t notice the differences. I’m hoping they bring back the mini by the time I’m ready to upgrade 🤞

It's not happening to everyone but there's definitely a lot of people complaining bout overheating for the 15 pro series. Of course we can never know how many are actually experiencing this but it's common enough to be a concern for me personally, along with the worse durability

I ordered the 15 pro and after transferring everything over from my 13pro it got pretty warm and it was concerning the next day also on my first full charge. Now it’s fine. I had one in my cart a few times right when preorders opened, but couldn't proceed with my US credit card. So a friend of mine helped to open a Rakuten Mobile account, since I was in need of a Japanese number anyways for hobby stuff. Rakuten phones are also SIM-free on top of being cheap service to maintain, and yeah it was about an hour outside of Tokyo. Funny enough though, on release day they had 256GB of every color available without preorder
@JMMeneses Жыл бұрын
@@Denki Gotcha! Rakuten’s option sounds pretty tempting since I find myself here 2-3 times a year, but I’ll try pushing my luck even more for the sim-free variants since I’m going for that Tax Free discount. 🤣 Aside from checking out stores on the golden route, I’ve been to Kobe, Himeji, Okayama, and even to Kurashiki… And yup. Still out of stock even in those rather rural places. Haha Oh, and I appreciate the tip man. Thanks!

I would consider UrAvgConsumer the pinnacle of sellout reviews. My guy even going as far as calling out companies in other videos for not reaching his prices and calling everyone broke. MWB is more cringe than anything. He’s basically MR. Beastifying his channel with that adhd level of energy. It seems like he is forcing excitement out of nothing.
