The most comfortable iPhones to hold were 3G and 3GS. The rounded back was so smooth and curvy, that was a dream to hold. Never got a phone that was so comfy in the hand like the 3GS.

One thing that needs to be mentioned more are the storage markups. On all iPhones, going from 128GB to 256GB is $100, and 256GB to 512GB is $200. On a SSD, the price of those upgrades would be about $5 and $10, respectively. This is a 20x markup!!

Just compare the price on desktop SSD.. even the M.2 is more expensive like the SATA SSD, and this is what they minimalized in the phone.. Apple use PCIe NVME (M.2 also an NVME drive what communicating on PCIe port..) and Android use still SATA drives in UFS.

The battery is great, I average around 6-7 hours on one charge and it usually lasts me from 7am when I wake up to around 7pm but with a quick charge easily all day Though keep in mind I play a ton of Honkai Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero which are some of the most battery draining games on the iPhone 😅

It's great that HDR images seem to be better on this phone. Hope the new iOS makes them better on my 14 Pro too. I dislike being unable to turn off HDR for photos. The very least Apple could do to make up for this is to make HDR actually good. As it stands now, HDR overdoes it all and darkens everything to the point that I have to manually adjust the images later on.

You can use voice isolation on voice notes. Just lock the voice recognition to hands free mode and then open the control centre and turn it on once and it’ll be default for that app

About 3 years ago or so, there was this version of gcam mod which i used to have on my redmi note 7 which takes portrait shots when you take normal pictures. It'll give you your portrait shot in addition to your normal shots and save both of them. And with Google photos you could increase, decrease or remove the blur if you want

I’m quite interested in seeing the AAA games they have in mind for it. While I’m sure there’s more to be said about the length of the battery you’d get with it, game companies like Nintendo should keep an eye for these kinds of moves from tech companies such as Apple. I've just tried voice isolation on my 12 mini and it worked about as effectively as the video showed for the 15 (had music blaring and recorded a message with and without voice isolation and the music was completely masked when VI was on), so not sure why this is mentioned as a breakthrough feature for the iPhone 15! Other than that, great review as usual.

The volume buttons on an iPhone, actually are the shutter buttons as well. So if you put your phone in landscape mode, you can use the volume up or volume down button and that’ll take the photo.

The voice isolation feature is not a new one though. I have an iPhone 13 and I am using the feature for quite a few months now and it's super helpful❤. Works with most call related apps but doesn't work with in game microphones

The SmartHDR on the XS Max was actually very aggressive but looked unnatural in some scenes. Then Apple decided to dial it way down on the 11 Pro and so forth. I’m glad that the aggressive HDR returns in a natural way.

Yes! Your point about the bezels are so true! I use an iPhone 14, and i am blown away by just how small they managed to get the notch when I compare it to my dad’s iPhone 11. Even though the notch on the 11 isnt that big, me being used to the tiny one on the 14 makes it feel absolutely enormous.

although it's not the most concerning thing about iPhone , I actually really hoped that they would work on hardware designs.The main focus of Apple is on gadgets and there are so many software improvements since two years ago (not that I'm complaining but it's just way too much and most of the people won't even remember this features or they just wouldn't need them, they can even available them in an upgrade).Of course the quality of CPU and gaming experience is nice on iphone but the charging needs an upgrade which are in my opinion more welcoming by the iPhone users rather that just software improvements. *it's just my opinions and experience and I'm not that knowledgeable about this stuff and I just shared my point of view hope you wouldn't get angry about this comment

I think the main thing is though, the phone market is mature now. We're not going to get big changes because consumers have said and showed what they want, which is a : 6-inch phone + 4k Display + big screen area. *Also, what are you going to change?* Phones are mini-tvs with the way they're built because it makes the most use of their space. Every major phone has a look, and Apple has perfected their look. The only changes now to make are software changes, whether that be with cameras or general OS. So TLDR: Unless some MIT student finds a new way to store energy & make things *even more* compact, I doubt we'll be getting any hardware changes. I agree with the charging thing tho, that's kinda stupid.

lawyer trick. We were told to do something, you then say instead of a comply you say we have decided to add a new feature, the whatever as they have here. This way they can sell you the adapter for your old lightning cord and the new cords, which have a less stress woven cord. I have a question about gaming. Given that Apple is designing all the chips in house, won't porting games for MacOS, iOS & iPadOS be one and the same thing? The incentive for a game developer to develop for the three platforms combined (mostly the high paying consumer group of the iPad) should push the industry towards AAA games being brought to the iPhone, I hope. Do you think that's a plausible argument?

Yes it is like that especially if you consider that the iPhone A-Series chips are the same architecture and product just downgraded and compressed as the M-series chips in the Mac lineup

They created M1 and M2 and MAX versions and it did not push devs to create AAA games exclusively for MAC, not even mentioning ports. From my 300 games on Steam only around 20 are natively supported on MACs. I doubt.

Great review, but yeah I even regretted the iPhone 14 Pro Max. I just can’t justify the upgrade. I feel like the rhetoric around the new iPhone is always the same. “Such and such makes this a more compelling iPhone and it stands out for such and such.” Then after the luster of the new features fade away, it’s the same experience it’s been since the X.

The cableless iPhone is also more for the regular iPhone since the Pro would more likely want higher transferrate with a cable and other features. USB 3 doesnt necessarily bring in more charging power, it is first with USB 4 it is a requirement to do higher charging power than regular USB, but the USB C connector can support more charging power thereby it was an option for Apple to have implemented it. I guess we will first see higher charging with next year’s Pro that probably uses USB 4, lol.

i used to not to like iphone, but this time they're doing it right. if iphone is now capable of running RE: village and RE: 4 remake (even if it's not full quality) but still that's a powerful one, none of android can run that. the optimization of OS also amazed me, as a user of android for 12yrs what i noticed is in iphone you don't need to tweak too much, in android you need to tweak much which is hassle.

I don't use apple but do watch their release videos and this is a very minimal upgrade over the 14 series. Smartphones have hit a peak now where its hard to come up with something really special. Using galaxy s23 ultra and it's a great phone. S24 ultra will be very minimal changes over this.

Lumia had an "action button" for the camera that I loved and yes, it was in a better location to take photos without blocking the camera. Voice isolation has been around for 2 years if I am not wrong.

It failed to gain enough market share though so Microsoft killed it. It had its unique fan base at its peak. There was a video on this topic by Windows/Microsoft Central or something (don’t remember the exact name of the channel) in the last couple of years highlighting this, check it out!
