Shock came in yesterday. Can't wait to get it installed. Couple questions for you. My shock pins seem awfully tight going thru the DNM shock. We're yours tight too? Next question is about the extended front brake cable. For now I have it mounted on the left side because that's the only way it will reach. You had said a KLX110 extended cable will work right? Is that what you used?
@realmmfc4 жыл бұрын
Yes to brake cable. KLX110 extended will work. As far as shock pins go, mine weren’t terribly tight. Used a little grease, but otherwise fine.

After having it for a while, what are your thoughts on the 350lb spring? Do you think the 250lb spring on the same shock wold be more appropriate for 180lb adult?
@realmmfc4 жыл бұрын
honestly, the 350lb spring rate is great. i have a buddy who is 165 and likes the way the bike rides also. Totally your call. I've never sat on one with 250 lb so i cant really say.
@tk2stroke4 жыл бұрын
The 350 spring seems exceptionally stiff after now having ridden it hard through my test area of rock garden and down stairs. Half way through the stroke it becomes very harsh and I suspect the spring may be cause . I ordered the 250 spring to see if it provides a more compliant ride. If that fails I'm going to crack it open and see if it can be revalved

@teeszy41283 жыл бұрын
@@tk2stroke well, how's the 250 spring treating ya?
@tdrewk153 жыл бұрын
@@teeszy4128 excellent, far better than the 350lb. It's a much more compliant rate for everything from regular salt flat racing all the way up to pit bike jump tracks. For a 180lb rider like myself and down to my son who is 120lbs the 250 rate is ideal. Not once have a felt the desire to use the 350spring. If I remember right, the rebound damping is 6-7 clicks out. The shock clickers are very broad and going out any more than 6-8 clicks makes it a spring board

It aggravates me how people these days call any small bike a "pit bike" used to a pit bike was Chinese bikes. Starting out they were mini croch rockets and then the 110 and 125cc Chinese bikes. But at some point people started calling all small bikes even the Japanese bikes pit bikes. Used to the ttr an Pee wee or "PW" by Yamaha bikes like that were not considered pit bikes. Its crazy how the internet has changed things.
@realmmfc4 жыл бұрын
Daniel Beavers lol what are you talking about bro. You have it all wrong. The term pitbike has nothing to do with China! A pitbike was actually any small bike ridden around the pits at races. Considered a luxury amount racers so they didn’t have to ride their race bike in the pits. You’re out of your area clearly brother!
@danielbeavers87014 жыл бұрын
@@realmmfc np shit. But it wasn't a thing until the Chinese bikes came out. Trust me I drag race I know all about riding anything with a motor around the pits. But if thats the case any bike or golf cart or atv would be called a pit cart or pit wheeler. What iam saying is that the nick name "pit bike" used to was not a thing. It started becoming a thing when the mini crotch rockets and small bikes started coming in. Think about it back in the day we didn't call a rm 80 or a yz 80 or a kx 100 a pit bike. We called it a dirt bike. It was when the mini bikes from China that the shocks and parts were useless on the dirt. It was only good for riding around the pits. So came the nick name pit big. You must be young my friend?
@realmmfc4 жыл бұрын
Daniel Beavers maybe in your world, but they have always been called pitbikes to me. When I started racing moto on pw’s in 1995, my dad has a Honda z50 he would rise around the pits.. aka a pitbike. Either way, not sure why it bothers you so much lol.
@kyleberry5004 жыл бұрын
