And don't forget you can turn the compression and rebound every Pop-Pop. Louis crew on the bottom part on the piggyback you can get a needle adapter to your shock pump and you can add more air pressure inside of them to
@twilliamrc4wd Жыл бұрын
No you just needed the tool to tighten up the spring tension and you'll be fine
@BFBMTb Жыл бұрын
I've compressed it about 3 to 4 full turns. I'm not sure what the true stroke is before it binds. I ended up getting a 650lb fox coil which is much better. I'm thinking about getting a needle adapter to add more air, but would you happen to know the stock psi?
@TE_53349 Жыл бұрын
@@BFBMTb believe its around 60psi

12:52 is that a generic derailleur hanger from amazon that broke? maybe it's not strong enough for ebike.
@BFBMTb Жыл бұрын
Yeah it's one of those generic derailleur extenders. It's definitely not strong enough. Funny thing is is that my derailleur is just a deore rd and isn't even a clutched. So I'm guessing a clutched derailleur would've made it fail even faster. Anyways, I got a longer b screw coming in. I'm just happy that the derailleur didn't take out my wheel.
@specagent999 Жыл бұрын
@@BFBMTb Not sure if a clutch would make a difference because the motor pulls the chain from the top, not the bottom. But then again it didn't look like you were pedaling when it snapped.
@BFBMTb Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I wasn't really pedaling when it broke, i was just pumping and shifted my footing. I always thought that the rd speing tension played a role But i think you might be right about the motor causing the wear though since I've broken 2 of these before that were on ebikes and The ones I've used on regular bikes havent broken.
@specagent999 Жыл бұрын
@@BFBMTb Are you replacing it with the same extender or something else?
@BFBMTb Жыл бұрын
@SpecAgent992 i actually was going to install this back up extender i had but I ended up just installing a 25mm b screw yesterday and so far its working good.
@twilliamrc4wd Жыл бұрын
What type of derailleur know is on a frame is it the original one or different one cuz that derailleur should be back way more at standard that rear derailleur is way too forward
@BFBMTb Жыл бұрын
I don't remember which derailleur I got to replace it, I think I put on another deore on it. But, this time I used a smaller but better extender along with a b screw
@Mountain-Viking Жыл бұрын
Jeez. I never seen a hanger break like that. What's it's made out of ? Alloy ?
@BFBMTb Жыл бұрын
Well it was an aluminum alloy derailleur hanger extender that snapped. I've snapped 2 of these before on emtb. I think maybe the force of the motor has something to do with it. But I wasn't pedaling when this one snapped so I'm not sure. I'm just happy the rd didn't take out my rear wheel though. I ended up just getting a longer b screw and so far it's able to reach the granny gear without need for an extender.
@Mountain-Viking Жыл бұрын
@@BFBMTb Yea you got lucky with your bad luck, it could've been much, much worst. Those extenders aren't the best for full swing MTB. Glad you could work it out.

Where did you put the battery?
@BFBMTb Жыл бұрын
Battery was placed under the downtube. I used a triple bob mount to make the mounting more secure. The triple bob was secured to the frame using steel rivnuts as well as a good amount of jb weld.
@marklouieadame Жыл бұрын
@@BFBMTbwhat kind pf battery did you use i have the same frame. Yours looks like its inside the downtubes or just the battery is so slim can you share the battery model you used i wanna setup mine as well the bike looks good
@BFBMTb Жыл бұрын
@Mark so the battery I currently use is a upp r049-2. 17.5ah battery. This battery is huge and weighs alot. It's pretty more battery than what I need for my rides. But I choose this battery because the mounting base has metal that reinforces the whole length of the base. I just ordered a new battery that is slimmer and lighter and uses the same mounting base as the r049-2 called the hailong g56. Unit power pack also sells it but they named it as s039#

@@BFBMTb ok thanks like your setup gives life to regular mtb to the next level so this setup is like more of a mid drive style right? I just need some assist but not looking for super strong assist will check what you recommended. Thanks again
@BFBMTb Жыл бұрын
@Mark I feel like many people automatically disregard older bikes but many are still capable bikes. yeah all my ebikes are mid drives since it's just so much better for mountain biking. Mid drives works on your bikes drive train which is great for climbing especially if you have a decent climbing gear. Not only that but the weight distribution is much more central and low, compared to a hub dribe where all the weight is situated on a wheel. you also don't have to worry too much about breaking the motor from jumps or impacts. I previously had 2 hub motors back in 2016 and I busted both of them. I haven't had any major issue with the mid drives and I don't remember my friends having any major issues as well. I also took off my throttle a few years back so I'm 100% pedal assist. I normally ride at 60% power levels but i bump it up to 80% if there's a really steep climb ahead of me. The motor has more than enough power and the only times I have to walk it up is if I'm about to flip and wheelie over Lol. Let me know how your build turns out.

How did it work going uphill? I saw those and noticed they don't have a lockout.
@BFBMTb Жыл бұрын
I have another burner on my regular bike and I actually turn the compression all the way up to stop the bobbing and increase my Climbing efficiency going up hill. Climbing isn't bad when I do this. I'm impressed with this shock especially since it's so cheap.

This spring was a 550lb spring. The bikes geometry was altered so it required a higher spring rate than usual. I've since made changes to the bike that a 450lb spring feels better.
