@DN React. I haven't seen a broken backboard since Shaquille O'Neal days. The NBA made a rule about breaking backboards. Backboards have gotten stronger over the days because players have been hanging on the rim a lot lately. If i had to make a bet, Zion Williamson would be closest in breaking a rim.

That last play sealed the championship for his team. It's from the 2016 Finals. The final few minutes of the 2016 Finals are widely regarded as the best several minutes of basketball. I HIGHLY recommend checking out that video. Thanks for the awesome stuff, y'all :)

It was also significant in that it was Cleveland, which is basically Lebron's home city (he's from nearby Akron). He was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers, but after a few years of getting knocked out of the playoffs, he went to Miami where he hooked up with Wade and Bosh and won some championships. But he'd always promised Cleveland that he'd be back, and that he'd win them a championship, and so this was him keeping his old promise. Cleveland's economy is based on manufacturing jobs that are gone, and so it's a depressed city, and so the two-way loyalty between him and the city made this championship, again, against a team that held the greatest regular season record of all time, probably his personally most meaningful win.

When you look at where the play starts, Lebron covered 80ft (about 25 meters) in something like 2.8 seconds. he hit 20 mph running down the court.

#1 is just called "The Block" and it happened in Game 7 of the NBA Finals to keep the game tied. Then right after that, Kyrie Irving hit the game-winning 3pointer to win the Championship for the Cleveland Cavaliers, the 1st ever in franchise history. It will go down as one of the greatest plays in not only Lebron's career, but in NBA history period. #ClevelandThisIsForYou #BIFC

As surprising as it is, 3 pointers have sort of been Lebrons weakness throughout his career but he’s gotten so much better at them, to the point where he’s hit many iconic threes like you saw. He’s an all time great passer and all time great defender as well. As complete a player as you’ll ever see.

@@D1Krshout For sure, both are/were somewhat weak, but the threes impact more when doing the math overall I think. But yeah pure shooting overall was a weakness, if he has one.

Even still, he led the league in all-time playoff 3 pointers made in the playoffs, until Steph and Klay passed him a couple years ago. His “weaknesses” are really only relative to his strengths, not really relative to other players. If he’s average at anything, we call it a “weakness”. He has had like 3 random awful seasons when he’s shot in the low 30’s or even the 20’s (one of his first few years, 2015 I think, and this year). But he also has as many or more seasons around 40% or just below. I consider him an average to good 3point shooter, overall. He just goes through big time hot and cold streaks sometimes. But he’s usually shooting around 37%, give or take, from month to month, it seems like. That’s as good as a lot of 3 and D players, who are supposed to specialize in it.

Actually no it’s been free throws, free throws are his main weakness. 😂😂😂😂 Lebron can hit 3’s, he’s NOT a Ray Allen but he can hit 3’s. He just mostly scores from inside the paint. As he’s gotten older he’s shooting more 3s probably to save his energy.

That last block was game 7 of the NBA finals with under two minutes to play. Golden State had just posted the best regular season in league history and were trying to repeat as champions. I (a Celtics fan) watched this game on vacation in Cancun and was cheering for the warriors, but LeBron almost made me a fan with how he took over that game.

Some of these rankings are based on the impact they had on the game or series as opposed to how amazing the play is in of itself. Hence why #1 is a block he's done many times. It helped seal their 3-1 comeback against the warriors in the 16 finals.

I've only recently become interested in basketball, but you can tell just by watching this guy how much skill he's got. Dunks, shooting, 3 pointers, whether on offense or defense it doesn't matter, the guy can and will make the plays that lead his team to the championship. Incredible athlete, plus everything I've heard about him just makes him seem like a stand-up human being on top of it. He's always giving back to the community, does tons of stuff for kids and youth sports programs. King James indeed. 👑

Hey guys! I absolutely loved the video I really enjoy seeing your reactions. I am a pretty big Lebron James fan and Im just here to provide a little bit of context to the play at number 1. The play itself was impressive but the context behind what is actually going on here is incredible. This was game 7 (the last possible game of a championship series) of the NBA finals and the game was tied at 89 with just under two minutes left to play. After this block, the warriors did not score another basket and one of Lebron's teammates (Kyrie Irving who is also a good player) made a 3pt basket to give them the lead. Lebron then gets fouled on a dunk attempt and makes on of two free throws to make it a two possession game which ultimately lead to them winning the championship. Now thats just the play itself. I am also going to tell you why this is the greatest championship ever won in NBA history. The Warriors were on pace to become the greatest team in NBA history. They had just won a championship against Lebron the year before and started the next season 24-0 which lead to them breaking the record for most wins in an NBA season winning 73 out of 82 games. In the finals they had a 3 games to 1 lead and only needed one more game to win what would have been a second consecutive NBA championship. Lebron then put up back to back 41 point games to force a game seven. He help his team win 3 games in a row against to come back from the 3-1 deficit which had never been done in an NBA finals against a team who hadn't lost back to back games the whole year. With that block, Lebron stopped what would have been the greatest team ever and broke records to do it! The record in question? He lead both teams, yes both, in ALL 5 MAJOR STATISTICAL CATEGORIES. Thats points, assist, rebounds, blocks, and steals; this has never even been close to been done before!

The last play was basically one of the two plays that won the Cleveland Cavaliers the best Finals in NBA history. They were down 3-1 (the only team to ever come back from that deficit in Finals history) and this was game 7 of that same finals. This and Kyrie’s shot won Cleveland it’s first SPORTS championship in like 50 years aswell. The longest any city has gone without a win go one of their sports teams. Lot of history behind it that made it hype

The best parts about lebron are his longevity and how he has adapted his own game. He has been in the NBA for almost as long as I have been alive, and he started off his career scoring more at the rim, but the dude is now in the top 10 of 3 point shots made all time. He can literally score from anywhere, is arguably the best passer of all time, one of the best defenders of all time, and has not shown any signs of slowing down at 38 years old. He is the king. Jordan may have been greater and a better winner, but one on one, nobody ever has been better at the game of basketball than Lebron James. if jordan is the G.O.A.T., lebron is the B.O.A.T. (best of all time)

Great reaction. Sports on the major holidays is a thing in the U.S. Even Christmas. Depending on the season. MLB on Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day. NFL on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. College Football on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. NBA on Christmas Day (usually a high profile team).

3:08 Tristan Thompson The thing about Lebron for me is that he came into the league with the most hype out of any player before or since. People were comparing him to Jordan and Kobe in high school. He came into the league as a teenager and met every bit of hype and surpassed it in many ways as well. One of a kind. You’ll probably have people in the comments here fighting about whether he’s the GOAT or not but in my opinion he’s the best all-around player ever. #1 is also my personal #1. That block saved the game in game 7 of the NBA Finals against the Warriors who had the most wins in a season ever. On number 10, the player who threw the pass to Bron was Kyrie Irving, if you haven’t noticed i’ve been suggesting the hell out of the player. But the two won a championship in Cleveland vs the warriors, and came back down 3-1 in the series. It’s arguably the greatest comeback in sports history. LeBron is the greatest all-around basketball player of all-time. No one else has 10k career points, 10k career assists, and 10k career rebounds in NBA history. LeBron already has 38k, 10k, and 10k. By the time he retires he’s likely to be at 40k, 12k, and 12k. He’s already the #1 all-time leading scorer in NBA history and he’s #4 in all-time assists. No one else is even in the top 50 in both categories. He’s also the only player to lead a team back from down 3-1 in the Finals, and the only player to ever lead both teams in all statistical categories in the Finals, and I believe he’s actually done it twice. He’s scored more points than anyone in NBA history and he did it in like 1,200 less shot attempts than everyone he passed, or something like that. The point is, He’s amazing on another level. I’m glad you enjoyed his highlights. The context for a lot of these, especially plays #2 and #1 make them much more unbelievable. There’s an ocean more of LeBron highlights out there to enjoy.

The main reason some people put MJ over LBJ is Jordan has more rings. But the reason Jordan has more rings is Lebron was hellbent on bringing a title to his hometown of Cleveland. He eventually did after numerous finals losses, against Curry’s warriors, with that block at #1. I’d argue it’s harder to win one ring by yourself in Cleveland than 6 in Chicago with multiple other hall of famers helping you.

For context on play #1: As MANY have commented, it was game 7 (the last game) of the 2016 NBA Finals: Cleveland Cavaliers vs the Golden State Warriors. In the regular season, the Warriors had achieved a record breaking statistic of winning 73 out of their 82 games, a record of 73-9, having surpassed the previous record of 72-10 set by the Michael Jordan-led Chicago Bulls in the mid 90s. Almost unanimously, this Warriors team was considered the greatest single-season team ever assembled, and were EASILY the heavy favorites to win every single playoff series and the Finals (the championship). Now, all that said, LeBron's Cavaliers were also one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference (Warriors are in the Western Conference), and so made their way to the Finals that year as well. Additionally, the previous year, BOTH these teams met in the Finals for the first time, but the Cavs suffered HUGE losses when their third-best player (Kevin Love) went out with a season-ending injury in previous rounds before making the Finals, AND their second-best player (Kyrie Irving) went out with a season-ending injury in Game 1 of the 2015 Finals. SO, it was only LeBron James and his role players playing against a formidable Warriors team facing off in the Finals. That series ended up with Golden State winning 4 games to 2. Fast forward a year later, and here we are. 2016 NBA Finals. the LeBron James-led Cleveland Cavaliers (his hometown team, by the way), along with his second and third-best players all healthy, facing off against the mighty 73-9 Warriors. The Warriors managed to actually go up 3 games to 1 in the first 4 games of the series, and it was widely considered that the Cavs had no chance of coming back, needing to win 3 games in a row, to win the Championship, as in the entire history of the league, NO TEAM HAD EVER DONE THAT. NONE. And yet, LeBron, Kyrie, and Kevin, and the rest of the Cavaliers played PHENOMENAL games to tie the series at 3 games apiece, with Game 7 to be played in the Warriors' home arena. The game was a back-and-forth heavy weight boxing bout. Both teams made runs to try and get ahead, but both teams made comebacks with stifling defense and savvy offensive possessions. In the forth and final quarter of the game, it came down to literally the last minutes and seconds of the game, and down to literally the last few possessions by each team to try to win the game. In this clip here, it shows Andre Iguodala of the Warriors on a fast-break opportunity to try to get a 2-point basket to put his team up by 2 with under 2 minutes to play in a tightly played and heavily defended game, in which points were hard to come by. Playing a 2-on-1 fast-break, in which the team with the ball has 2 players in the fast-break play vs 1 player on the defensive team, they seemed to finally be getting the bucket they desperately needed to break the tie score. Iguodala flies down the court as his teammate Steph Curry passes him the ball right on the money so he could get the layup on the only defender in front of him, JR Smith. He rises to the rim, trying his best to beat Smith's reach and make the layup. That's when OUT OF NOWHERE, BAMM!!! All Andre knew is that he heard a thunderous boom as LeBron James had not only caught up to him, but had out-jumped, and out-reached him JUST in time to block his layup. This is important because according to NBA rules, if the ball touches the backboard BEFORE a defensive player manages to block the shot, it is a goal-tending violation and the offensive team is awarded the basket. So LeBron HAD TO touch the ball literal milliseconds BEFORE the ball touched the backboard. Take into account this, the game that it was--the final game in the championship round--the greatest team ever assembled vs the injury-plagued team they beat the previous season, to this being one of the final moments of the season for ALL THE MARBLES, and one can finally understand why it's widely regarded as one of the, if not THE greatest play by LeBron James. It saved the tie, which then led to Kyrie Irving hitting a 3 pointer for the lead on the following possession, and then a defensive stop by Kevin Love on Steph Curry (arguably the greatest shooter in history) and the city of Cleveland won their first major sports championship in over 5 decades. This block saved the game, saved the season, saved LeBron's legacy, and cemented LeBron as one of the, if not the best, player in the history. Context. It really is important. (Oh, and yes, he NBA plays Christmas games every season, and there are two back-to-back clips of Miami playing in one of those games.)

The context surrounding #1 was that Lebron was on the other side of the court when the fast break for Warriors happened. He chased down the play from the other side of the court to block the shot that would have been detrimental to the Cavs winning the chip.

That last play basically sealed the game and the series for the Cavaliers against the Steph Curry's Golden State Warriors. The context is that the Lebron singlehandedly made the Cleveland Cavaliers relevant for years and he was the hometown kid. It sealed their first Championship ever.

Great video and reaction! Greetings from the US 🇺🇲 I grew up a huge basketball fan, so I remember so many of these moments like they happened yesterday and remember when I watched some of them live on TV! For context, on the number one play, that play came in Game 7 of the NBA Finals, winner takes all, and it was in the final minute of the game, and the score was very close, and the Warriors were going down the court for what would seem to be an easy basket to get a quick, easy two points, but LeBron sprinted down the court and came out of nowhere to block Andre Iguodala's layup, to help lead his team onto victory and winning Cleveland their first NBA championship in the team's history! @@DNReacts people forget to mention, the Cavs were down 3-1 in the series. They won 2 straight games to make this game 7, on the road. That's why the block is so significant. No team in NBA history at that time has ever won a finals when down 3-1.

The NBA season starts in October, but they have a slew of usually 4 games that feature either elite teams or elite player matchups on Christmas Day that's really the unofficial start of the season

One hand dunks are more common because you can reach for the the basket better while jumping if you extend with one arm vs 2 because you aren't being restricted with your other arm that you're also trying to reach with.

James has also done great things for charity. He is from a part of tge US known as the "Rust Belt", specifically Akron, Ohio. This area (not slamming on Ohio, I live in Dayton, Ohio) used to be the center of manufacturing in the US, and has declined economically for decades. He started a program in Akron that provides a 4 year scholarship to the University of Akron for kids who graduate High School and do community service. The price tag for this could end up as high as $87,000,000. Yeah, he has a lot of money, but still, that is seriously giving back to the community.

Number 1 play is in game 7 against the heavly favored Warriors for the NBA championship. That block setup the Clevland Cavaliers to take the lead in the next poissesion and ultimatly win the game. LeBron played 40+ minutes in every game this series. Having the stamina to run all the way down and pin the ball against the backboard shows how badly LeBron wanted this win. One of the most clutch defesive plays in NBA finals hiostory. (By the way Clutch means to perfom at your highest level in high pressure situations)

Yeah, he dunked on Tim Duncan. But the Spurs swept the Cavs in that championship series. Tim Duncan is one of the all-time great power forwards/centers to ever play the game. Nicknamed "The Big Fundamental" cuz he was so precise in his gameplay but rarely flashy. He won 5 championship rings from 1999 to 2014 (all with the San Antonio Spurs.)

The last play was game 7 of the 2016 finals. The warriors at the time had a 73-9 regular season record (best record in basketball history) and game 7 came after the warriors were up 3-1 in the series (a deficit which had only been overcome 12 times in nba history and NEVER overcome in the NBA finals ever) Lebron comes out of nowhere with the block to keep it tied in the final minutes of the most tense game after both teams had been missing shots with neither scoring for about two minutes up until that point and it shifted the momentum of the game

Yeah, the NBA's Christmas Day games are just regular season games but they are always big time matchups that air on national television. The NFL takes over the calendar in a similar way on American Thanksgiving Day. Number 1 was so big because it was just under 2 minutes left in Game 7 of the NBA Finals and the Warriors would have taken a two point lead if he didn't make that block. He was also in the far left corner of the court when the Cavs missed the shot before which led to the fast break so he was WAYYYYYY out of the play before sprinting down the court to make the block. The Cavs would go on to win the game by 4 to win the team's first ever NBA Championship and the first major sports championship for Cleveland since Jim Brown and the 1964 Browns won the NFL championship. Making the game and the play even bigger was that Lebron was from Akron, Ohio which is close to Cleveland, then he was drafted out of high school by Cleveland in 2003 where he had a number of great seasons but only made 1 Finals appearance where they got killed, then he left to join the Heat as a free agent and went to 4 straight NBA Finals winning 2 of them, then he went back to Cleveland as a free agent with the EXPLICIT purpose to bring home a championship...which he did so there was a LOT riding on that block.

NBA always has a lot of of nationally televised games on Christmas. If Christmas falls on a Sunday, there will be NFL as well. Nothing is as big a dal as the NFL on Thanksgiving though.

So, just for some added context on the last play: Cleveland sports had been incredibly successful through the mid-20th century, but then entered an infamous 70-year lack of championships, despite being one of the few cities with competitive teams in every major sport. In baseball, the Indians (now Guardians) were historically bad for decades, and suffered historically crushing losses in the World Series. The Cavaliers only previous success came at the same time as the Michael Jordan Bulls, so they never made it far in the playoffs. So, come 2016, James has returned to his hometown team after a few years in Miami, and he promised that he'd win the Cavs their first championship. He then led the Cavs to the NBA Finals, but the team fell to a 3-1 deficit, which no team in NBA history had ever come back from. Yet, the Cavs battled back to a decisive game 7. The lead in the game went back-and-forth many times, and near the end the game was tied. The Golden State Warriors had the winningest record in basketball history that year, were heavy favorites, and looked like they were building momentum at the end of the game to pull ahead, something they were famous for doing that entire year. LeBron's block from nowhere killed their momentum and led to a final two minutes where all the major players made great plays, ending a 70-year championship draught for the city of Cleveland. Look up pics of the championship parade, the entire city was mobbed. Streets weren't just shut down, they were flooded with people. It's one of the most dramatic stories in US sports of the century.

It’s common for NBA players to One hand dunk because these guys can ‘palm’ the ball 🏀…the ability to hold a full size basketball like a baseball ⚾️ these guys hands 🙌 are huge…the players who can’t palm it usually the shorter guys or guys with smaller hand Will ‘cuff’ the ball when dunking or laying up…..cuffing the ball is using your wrist/forearm with your 🖐️ to brace/stabilize the 🏀….instead of just palming it…

About highlight No. 2 which actually showed 3 shots. To give some context LeBron was pretty young and he was on his way to his first NBA finals in 2007. Some regard the team that was around him as one of the weakest ever to make the championship finals. In the Eastern Conference finals after each team had won two games on their home court, LeBron scored 48 points on Detroit's court to win game #5. He scored the last 24 points of the game taking the whole team on his back, and as we were listening on the radio (we were away from home) and I heard basket after basket scored, the hair on my neck began to stand up. It was unbelievable. The next game was back in Cleveland and they won and won the series.
