The excitation condition here is that the mechanical torque of an engine seems to be increased to a higher value, not a short period of push acceleration. To meet this mechanical power increase, the angle delta is subsequently increased in the electrical power P_G = Ea * V * sin(delta) / Xs.

Firstly, thanku so much for your enormous contribution to the entire student fraternity. Sir at 8:00, it's Ex= Ea - Vphi. Not the other way round. Secondly, this phasor diagram at 8:05 seems faulty sir.

It was a typing mistake, the vector diagram is correct...no it is not faulty, a detailed vector diagram is there in the following lectures..

Thanks for detailed information. please clarify about pole slip or out of sync..when we change mech torque shifting of E causing load angle increasing..at which angle it is consider as pole slip?please explain about loss of excitation also by Mho diagram. If already have link please share.

Why reactive power only flow from load to source and source to load? But active power flow from source olny why?

active power is the useful power consumed by the load by definition, whereas reactive power is stored as a magetic / electric fields

Bcoz it's equivalent to no load condition, hence induced emf and terminal voltage will be in phase. Or in other words u can say there's no current so no reactance drop.

sir you said in one of your lecture the delta angle is in between 15 to 20 degree so my question is if we increase the mechanical torque (of PM) can we surpass this angle limit and this question came in my mind because we are dealing with large power systems so is it practically possible? btw thanks for your lectures they are extremely helpful.

If you go above a certain value of delta the magnetic locking between stator magnetic field and rotor will get lost..and the generator will fall out if synchronism...

Power by steam turbine = steam flowrate * enthalpy drop inlet-outlet(often the condensor) Power by steam turbine = Torque * angular speed Angular speed = cst (varies between 49 and 51 Hz at most) defined by an ultra rigid electrical grid and the fact that we have a synchronous build machine Torque on a synchronous generator = proportional to the angle difference of Ef vector (exciter) and Ea vector (stator) = beta Electrical power delivered =(prop) Voltage * current Voltage on grid, and generator outlet is kept constant by AVR (automatic Voltage Regulator) current in stator will therefore increase to match the increase of power at constant voltage by increase of beta Hoping this will give an overview

at initial, "Applied Torque> Induced Torque" but when "Applied Torque= Induced Torque", both rotates at "Ws" speed. Is this "Ws" speed is after applying the "Torque" of the prime mover ? confused !!!
