Bednar and Cooper are the prototypes for good coaches going forward. They're both patient and treat the players and reporters with respect. The days of abusive angry coaches are numbered.

torts still has 3 years left right? that might be one of the last just straight mean coaches (hes a good coach but its hard to play for him)

Bednar and Cooper's exchanges in 2022 were so classy and inspiring

Hard nosed coaches are still required, and you can bet all good teams still have at least one head cracker on the coaching staff who is willing to rip into the players when they underperform. People rag on Tortorella a lot but the guys has a lot of integrity and many great players really liked playing for him.

@@33RoyCorpPor they will just get weeded out and will need to adapt players aren’t soft like people say now we just have a better understanding of mental health and injuries, some coaches are stuck with the suck it up attitude

I think its just time to start looking at coaches in the minors to step up. The league has been recirculating the same coaches a lot. Time for some fresh blood and new perspective.

There actually only a few NHL coaches that have the respect from their players and fans. 19 head coaches is a lot. I guess it's easier to fire a coach than trade players. Coaches have become escape goats for teams.
