I had bad experiences when dating bi men in the past as a gay man who was wanting something serious, most of my experiences has been “you’re hot and there’s nothing wrong with you, you’re great, but I wanna be with a woman when I think of anything serious.” So needless to say I avoided dating bi men for a while. Ironically tho my now husband is bisexual and he’s everything I ever could ask for. Of course we are only monogamous and I did let him know that’s what I needed and that I respect him being bisexual but that I would never be a woman and that he needed to be sure he would be okay with only being with me ( a man ) until death or (hopefully never) until we are separated. I won’t lie and say it didn’t make me a little insecure at first but like they said, you have to respect your partner and just respect the rules y’all have set up for y’all’s relationship in order for it to be healthy and the line of communication open.

As a 66-year-old BI guy, currently in the process of coming out, there is so much here I relate to. Particularly the cheating question. I was married for 20 years and sure I looked and had temptation but it's all about commitment. Simple rule, when you are in a relationship you stay with that person. If the relationship fails, then and only then can you explore another partner. I've also found a degree of confusion to some I have come out to on what being BI is. "But you're really Gay, right?" Ah no, I'm attracted to BOTH men and women. I am BISEXUAL. So how do I make a decision on a partner? Well prepare for a tad more confusion, ultimately, it's the personality of the person that wins me over so I am also PANSEXUAL! Mind blown. LOL If I have one criticism on this video it would be the age of the participants. Referring to the question on fitting in with the Gay community, I see a lot of ageism. Being isolated by my peers who are younger. So older BIs should have been part of this. We are here and just as queer. Our views are equally of value.

Bi is stuck in an old idea just as gay was once understood as men who wanted to act like women, and lesbians as women who wanted to act like men. However, these concepts have evolved, but bi has not. Then they invented pan to define that he could be interested in anyone; which is not real. No one is interested in anyone, we all have our own terms of physical and mental attraction. To say that personality is what conquers is being obvious because it happens to everyone.

So technically ur not both but I get the sentiment. I once told someone I was pan and they asked me to describe it and I simply said “being attracted to everyone” (looking back I now know that was a horrible response) later on she told people that I like to have orgies and have sex with anyone who wants it. As a lesbian I have learned a lot today while watching this video, I have had a lot of experience and emotions towards bisexual individuals myself. I am currently in a relationship with a pansexual woman, and while pansexuality and bisexuality is different, I do sometimes get the same insecurity for both, and this is something I have worked on. While I do have this little fear in the back of my head where my brain tries to tell me my gf will leave me for a man, I trust her and I have worked to quite that little voice in my head, the only reason it doesn’t fully go away is because I have OCD and it’s now more just a compulsive thought that I can’t really stop, but I have learned to ignore. Secondly, funny enough even though I have this compulsion, I as a nonbinary lesbian have always felt safer and seen as more valid with a pan or bi partner than another lesbian partner, but that has only been my experience so far. I also wanted to speak on a thing or two, some of the individuals seem to perhaps be bisexual, but heteroromantic. I am not absolutely sure to be honest. I don’t know how it feels to have emotions or sexual feelings towards more than one so gender, so I am not exactly sure how that works. All in all I just hope everyone in this video ends up finding a loving partner and relationship that feels their needs, open or closed. I have met so few fellow bis/pans that I had no idea the low-key longing to be with a different gender or sex than the one you're in a relationship with was so prevalent. I am an AFAB NB in a committed married relationship with a man and am no cheater, so the fact that I frequently dream and fantasize about (imaginary) women and trans folks surprises me, and even made me wonder a few years ago if maybe I'm actually a lesbian in denial. And looking back on past relationships, I would usually flip-flop between men and women with each relationship or hookup. So glad I stumbled upon this video and now know this is fairly common!

This is what happens when bi people pay too much attention to the gender and not the person. As someone who is bi I understand that every person is different, when it becomes girls vs guys it diminishes the actual person. When people ask me a girl vs guy questions i always answer with what action/personality/features I like and then relate it to how they show up in both genders rather than stereotyping both genders. Instead of saying who has better sex, explain what sex you like and how that affects who you tend to sleep with more.

I feel like if bi people were up front with their preferences, there would be less biphobia from inside the community especially. If you don’t see yourself marrying one gender you have to be up front about that. So many people get hurt by people not sharing their preferences and then assume things like “all bi people are either straight or gay and they’re just experimenting” or “all bi people won’t be satisfied with just one gender”. I know this sounds like victim blaming, but I’m just saying I think we could be better about sharing things so that we’re not perceived in a bad way Edit: I feel I should add I’m not talking about if you’re confused and figure out what you want later. I don't like when people call it "more straight/gay", tbh, because those sexualities are by definition exclusive. I'm never gay or straight, I can lean more towards women or men. But I never experience the world in the way a straight or gay person would, I don't know what it's like to never have been attracted to men/women at all. It might sound like hair splitting, but if we don't want people to think we "turned straight" after marrying someone of the same sex, we need to be careful when we are trying to explain experiences that non-bi people don't have.

The woman in the intro saying men are easy so she sleeps with them is so perplexing and telling of modern dating. I don't know how she thinks that makes her any less easy than the person she's sleeping with? What a way to throw yourself onto a pedestal inappropriately, like it's just very disrespectful to the people she's sleeping with and she seems to believe that they're the ones getting rewarded by sleeping with her. Very interesting take from her. Same woman had to think for a second before going to the "strongly disagree" section when asked if they like men more than women. So much radiating shame from her in the fact that she likes men at all.

@@danieljessekaplan7034 Well, she is, and it’s disrespectful to the guys who aren’t easy. If you wanna be easy as a guy, go do it. Plenty of men value themselves though, as do women. Plenty of easy women as well. Generally p mixed for all genders lmao. Easy women for easy men, and difficult women for difficult men. People who value themselves end up with people who value themselves. It’s just that simple. Do you really think the men who actually value themselves and their bodies/time are going around sleeping with easy girls? No, they are focusing on themselves and finding an actual relationship. They go on dates with people before sleeping with them. They cut someone off before sleeping with them. This is what mature adults do. People like this person in the video and people like you think that the world is forged around the type of lives that you live, and the way that you see the world, when, in reality, there’s a whole silent demographic of people who are not even involved in hook up culture because they value themselves, inherently, and their representation is overshadowed because they are quiet. They just mind their own business. So no, not all men are like that at all. A lot of men really value themselves and their bodies and their time.
