I wont say Baku or Hungary because those were both helped out by front-runner setbacks or retirements, but I will say Monaco because every person that should've been in front of my Super Seb, he beat on merit that day. P5 without many retirements in the 7th fastest car is no joke, especially considering that the AM is essentially the reverse of the Alpine, meaning no qualy pace, all race pace. Lately he's been able to keep up with faster cars like we just saw today catching Norris at the end of the race for P10. IN SHORT: Seb's still got it. He's not all the way there yet, but people think that he's nowhere still because we think the AMR21 is faster than we should be giving it credit for, when I think it's in between the Alpine/Team Gasly and the Williams almost exactly, and both drivers, Seb and Lance, are both performing well/ok.

Why is that? He basically build up not 1, not 2, but 3 teams up to be world championship winners. He drove for Benetton and made them world champions. He left them at the height of their performance to go to Ferrari to pull them out of one of their biggest slums and ring in one of the most dominant eras of Formula 1. Yea but one thing that needs to stop being ignored for purely political reasons, the very core reason for why there aren’t many women in formula 1, is the fundamental fact that men and women are different. And among our differences are differences in interests and ambitions. There just aren’t nearly as many women who WANT to be Motorsport drivers, and so with so little of them there it’s very easy for them to get filtered out. There isn’t really decent chance for a woman to be the one topping the times because if the sheer lack of them in the pool. And this isn’t a totally bad thing. The reason it’s seen as a bad thing is because whenever we see a male dominated space we immediately jump to the idea of discrimination and while there is undoubtedly an existence of that in some areas, the interests are the Main driving forces behind the number of women compared to men. The same can be said for female dominated areas. So while you can say that more effort can be made to get girls interested and karting, at what point do you draw the line, and are not just trying to pull more girls in just because you want the number of girls to go up and not because these girls actually want to do this. With all that said I still see a woman in f1 within the next 10 years but probably not for the right reasons. Edit: when I say it’s not a bad thing what I actually meant to say was that it’s not the result of bad intentions. My bad

If you put Nikita Mazepin in a 2021 Mercedes and Lewis in a 2021 Haas, Mazepin would outperform Hamilton purely because the peak performance of the Haas is worse than the average performance of the Mercedes. Q2: As a British person, the British/Worldwide F1 broadcast is heavily biased. Maybe it’s because certain pundits just don’t like certain drivers, maybe it’s to boost prevalence of British drivers, but there’s definitely a bias there that you can see with every pundit (excluding Nico when he comes on, Nico is legendary purely for how savage and chaotic he is) Q3: GOAT status cannot be achieved. Records will be broken, the world always moves on. If you look purely on statistics, Hamilton is the GOAT, but add some context to that and you realise he’s a great driver in a dominating car. Look at Schumi and you see a great driver in a dominant car willing to play dirty to win, but he built 3 separate teams into championship teams. Benetton were nowhere without Schumi, he dragged Ferrari out of their worst slump in history to their greatest dominance, he built the still-standing foundations for the Mercedes we know today. Q4: Yes, he definitely deserves his seat. Did you see his defence on Lewis at Hungary? Did you see him having over 100 overtakes this season? His status definitely helped his comeback, but his seat is deserved by his pure class this season. Q5: To call Seb overrated for his current loss of form is to call Hamilton overrated because of his form in 2011. It’s arbitrary, Vettel has won 4 WDC’s in cars where his teammate didn’t finish 2nd in a WDC once. Give 2013 Vettel a Mercedes and 9 years to fine-tune it to his liking and you’ve got yourself a decade of domination. Q6: I honestly don’t think women will ever succeed in F1. Not now, not in 10 years, probably not ever. People really don’t understand how physically demanding driving open-wheelers are and there are physical limits women reach that (in athletes) men can surpass. Even if you exclude that physicality problem, there’s just more men interested in motorsport and more men in the talent pool at the moment. These female drivers we constantly talk about have had strong financial backing, otherwise they wouldn’t have made it this far at all. So why has Mazepin (who many F1 fans call talentless) found an F1 seat and they haven’t? It’s because Mazepin, although poor by F1 standards, was a race winner in F2 and still finished high enough in the standings for a super license in a very unlucky season for himself. The best women right now need a female only category because they’ve realised they aren’t talented enough for the junior series of the pinnacle of motorsport. It definitely won’t happen in the next 10 years unless a team is struggling so much for sponsors and PR that they hire a woman as a pay-driver to drive for them. That’s just my take, good to see others able to voice opinions on the channel and having actual conversations about it. Hope we get more of this content to come!

Lots of reasons women aren't in formula one. As a young girl I wanted to race in F1 but didn't have the money to start. I started at 16. Got 29 podiums and 13 wins in karts. However, money is a massive problem and I won't be able to move up unless I get massive sponsorship.

Opinion: Sebastian Vettel is better than Lewis Hamilton. He is not the GOAT but looking at Seb he had some bad seasons Lewis had one in 2011. Well Seb had a bad car more times than Lewis. Seb also is the youngest world champion, he has the most wins in a row record which can not be broken by Hamilton who had the best car so many years. Seb also was outperforming the opposition more than Lewis when he had the best car in 2011 and 2013 while Lewis did that only once in 2020. In terms of their teammates both Webber and Rosberg and Bottas are on the same level, so you can't say that Vettel had a worse teammate.

about the vettel is overrated question... I get feeling like the half that agree doesn't rlly get the term ? Cuz from all ppl I know they don't rate drivers by each year but by their whole carrer ? so what that he isn't performing like before... but in his era ... he was rockin mate..
@DjDolHaus863 жыл бұрын
I think the overrated element is related to overexpectation, a lot of people thought that ferrari did him dirty and that he'd suddenly start setting the world alight in the Aston Martin when really the truth was that while Ferrari weren't the best to him they did give him a car capable of winning a WDC and he didn't make the best of the opportunity. He's not the driver he was in his RB dominance era and likely won't ever be again, this doesn't mean he's not a great driver but he's fallen away from that top tier

I can't believe people have forgotten how M S got his championships. In the mid 90s he was banned for 2 races and Benetton were finded 500k for using illegal Launch control and traction control. He took out Damon Hill and was not punished, he then tried to take out Jacques Villeneuve, this time he had all his points for the year removed. He should not be included in talks about the new world champion Max and 7 time world champion Lewis

Like the car question has one answer. The car is 80% the drivier 20% so the car is way more important. You can win the drivers title with average drivers but you cant win the drivers title with average cars. On that last one. Would I like to see a woman in F1? Yes. Do I think it will ever happen? No. And it has nothing to do with grassroots in my opinion. Unfortunately women have a biological disadvantage, so the woman who can compete on the same level as the men in F1 is 100% gonna be the GOAT. I think a better alternative would be to have W Series elevated from a support series into a sister series to F1 with its own feeder series supporting it.

The Car is More Important Than the Driver: Disagree. They are equally important. You mean to tell me that if Andrea De Cesaris was in a McLaren, he'd be a World Champion? BS. F1 Media is Inherently British Biased: Somewhat agree. Not that it's a bad thing. A lot of F1 fans are British, and you have got so many British presenters and commentators on the Sky F1, Channel 4 F1 and F1 KZbin Channel. The only non-British personalities that leap out are Rosberg and Webber. But at the end of the day, what does it matter? Michael Schumacher is the GOAT: Absolutely Agree. Though Lewis is statistically a better driver, I'd argue being a champion in Michael's time required a bit less technological know-how, and a little more reliance on the driver's skillset. Fernando Alonso deserves to be back in F1: Somewhat agreed. Who doesn't like Fernando? He's putting in some solid performances with Alpine. Also F1 does need some legends to rely upon for marketing, and to draw in older fans. (i.e: Kimi, Fernando, Sebastian, Lewis) Sebastian Vettel is overrated: Absolutely not. How can one call Vettel overrated when he's not even the best driver in F1 history. Such a bizarre concept to me. A woman will compete in F1 in the next 10 years: Probably not. I hate to say no, but as mentioned in the video, the W Series cars are basically F4 spec. And it takes a lot more for the women to earn the relevant superlicense points which isn't really fair to be honest. And honestly "grassroots" is not the answer. How many drivers in recent years have made it to F1 via the grassroots way, and not because they came from money, or had contacts who had money? There are some, sure, but not many.

The car is 80%/ the driver 20% in F1. Especially in this hybrid era, it has become more apparant, then ever, but it has in many ways it has allways been like this! Exepct from the very strange season of 2012, no season in modern times, has ever seen more then three teams been competitive & winning races in the same season. To put it this way, Mazapin would have been up at the front in the Merc, Hamilton would have been at the back in the Haas. In 2000 Michael won in the Ferrari, & Massacane drove the Minardi, & Michael would never have won in that Minardi, & Massacane would have been competitive in the Ferrari. Just as Senna would be at the back in 1990, in the Brabham, instead of winning for McLaren! It"s as simple as that. Hopefully #NextGen can fix some of that problem, which in many ways is one of the longest facing issues of F1. But let"s face it F1 will never be a Single make championship. If that is your thing, then watch Indycar or F2 ;)
