I'm 45 years old and sort of a career changer. I have been a touring musician for the past 20+ years. I am in my bachelor's for psychology at the moment and I am going back and forth between counselor and psychology for my master's degree. This was very helpful hearing about the internship for psychology graduate students.

Hi! I’m studying to become a school psychologist now and am in the second year of my graduate program. I want to work in a school once I graduate but I’m also curious what it would be like to work in a hospital, and other settings like private practice. Could you make a video on job options for school psychologists outside of the school setting and what those responsibilities would be?

Hey! I think I responded to your question in a different video. In general, I recommend a job with flexible hours since your coursework is the priority (restaurant, before or after school programs, tutoring, etc)

you should be! I would just double check with the program to see what their specific prerequisites are. some of my ed cohort members had to take one or two classes before starting

I wish I could talk to Madeline about NIU! I’m from Chicago and don’t really look forward to having to go to dekalb for 3 years, but NIU has one of the best school psych programs in Illinois! I would stay in the city if I could but if the program is good I won’t mind moving there for a bit

Eastern Illinois also has a really good School Psych program and it’s a great school with amazing faculty!
