I bought some plant starts yesterday and it relieved my anxiety about the seeds I am late starting. Do what you have to do, whatever it takes to get growing. Gardening should be fun, so take the pressure off yourself, and don’t try to be perfect. The weather doesn’t follow a rigid schedule, and you don’t have to either.

I recently moved from So. Cal.where I planted mostly tropical ornamentals to make a park like atmosphere to enjoy. Now I’m hoping to have some success growing vegetables and flowers in central Texas. Keep teaching and encouraging. Bless you all.

I had to add this: My daughter and son-in-law are making me two raised beds that I can use in their garden because I live in an apartment with no space for a garden other than pots. Today I told her I want to make a cattle panel trellis to grow things like pole beans and cucumbers on, but she had no idea what I meant. She googled it and now she is on board and wants to make a bunch of cattle panel trellises in their garden! Yay! I can't wait. Thank you for the inspiration from your garden, Jess.

My mom shared you KZbin to me a while back. I haven't gotten to watching anything until today. I was watching too much true crime KZbinrs and it was really affecting my mood..so I finally decided to watch you. I'm glad I did. I am addicted. You talking about gardening and homestead is relaxing...and much better then what I was listening to..it was making me paranoid and have terrible dreams😳 I don't have animals or a garden...but now I wish I was watching a month ago. I'd have a garden starting now lol...I'd find the room 🤣😂 (I'd have to start everything inside my house because this area warms up but will randomly freeze at night even when it's been warm for a while). I may start just a simple herb garden because we dont have a lot of space. We rent and have a pretty small yard. The area I'd plant does get a lot of sun. Next year we will hopefully be in a home we but with a nice yard!!

Jess, I finally got my husband on board with the garden! It only took me three years 😂 He’s building beds for me! God spoke to him the other week and now we’re looking for bigger land so that we can have a big enough garden to feed our family, and the church family. I’m still going to garden here at home since we don’t exactly know when moving will happen. I’m going to have to direct sow. Our home is 864 “livable” square feet, and I just don’t have the room for starting seeds indoors. I know one thing, the new property will have a greenhouse! ....and maybe some goats. Stay Blessed! ❤️

I ordered the garden calendar & glass greenhouse sticker. I'm excited for your family, but will miss seeing you in it after you've moved. I am tickled to be able to have the sticker. 💐

Thank you. You are my Bob Ross. Plant it see what happens. If it dies, try something else. If it grows, eat it & enjoy. Repeat. No pressure. Just learn as you go.

The smell released from the earth after a rain is also called PETRICHOR and it is my absolute favorite. We grew up in Arizona where that smell is sacred. Thank you for explaining geosmin, I never knew that and am one who prefers golden beets to red beats!
