Miah- I was 40 years old 26 years ago. I wish someone would have told me to pay close attention and try to remember these days. Twenty six years from now they may be a very blurry memory. I do remember it was just then my size 6 jeans started getting a little too tight. I know you will have a wonderful day with your loving family. cheers from York Pennsylvania

My family is forcing me into online dating, and the temptation to say, just look at jess from roots and refuge, that's who i'm trying to be, so if you can be a husband to that, that's what I need, is too much😂😂😂

It's very sad when you don't post. I enjoy you most of all. However, there's a family member of mine with 3 mil plus members/ followers, and they force content. And stress a lot. Not my vibe. And not my content. If I ever take up the content craft, you'll be my inspiration. ❤

I totally agree with you as far as the soil! I bought an off brand organic soil for transplanting. Immediately they started dying! After a week I re-transplanted into “Black Gold” and they snapped out of it and took off!! I have a friend that did the same thing last year.

I've just stopped everything and ran away from my life more than once. Started over completely, abandoned friends (before social media made it so easy to keep in touch). Not sure why, but havent had the urge in years so must have healed up some old wounds finally.

I just dug up a bed of asparagus yesterday that i need to move. It already had new spears budding under the soil! I don't think I'll get a chance to put them anywhere for a week or two because of weather but i found information lacking to be found on how to store them best for a couple weeks.

I put a pop up like yours on my glassed in front porch. It worked great for the cooler temps, but I did use lights because there is a solid roof over it. I put a small heater in for the below freezing times. I will continue to use it for my seed starting.

To move the asparagus with the least disturbance, I'd prepare new, permanent beds, with a rich, loamy soil mixed with sand, giving each clunp room to expand over time. Then, while they're fully dormant, first in sections, I'd remove the soil on top of, let's say the center of the raised bed, onto a tarp so it can easily be lifted and moved to where it's needed Then, from all sides, I'd dig deep and gently pry upwards a bit, to loosen the roots, with a hand trowel and fork like hand tool. I'd try to get under the roots, and lift out sections to relocate and cover, gently packing in soil with my fingers, for finding and eli.inating any air pockets, and then gently water, to see that soil has covered the roots. Then, back fill some more and water a bit more to make sure there's soil making contact as needed before filling in the rest of the soil. By working in sections you can take breaks as needed. If you watered around the roots, you needn't water on top when backfilled, unless the soil is completely dry If it doesn't rain for a week, I'd water it enough to filter down to moisten, but not soak the roots. I love asparagus! I agree with Ben! When I was in school, we had recess and got to run around outside and to breathe the fresh air!

I don't think its ever to early to think about the garden. My last feost daye is late April/early May and im gearing up to start planning. I'm going to be experimenting with growing brassicas earlier this year as we go from freezing to hot practically overnight here in SW Idaho and they all bolt before I get fruit. Any adventure you want to take us on ill be there to watch!

Happy Birthday to both of you❤! Please show us your travels that would be nice to see a day in the life of R&R. I live in a very short garden season climate.. and I can tell you now I vicariously live through your garden every single year! I start my first plants in March and even that’s too early but it’s good for my heart so I do it anyway. Happy Christmas to everyone who celebrates and happy holidays to everyone..

You n eed to add a down draft system to your greenhouse. (Like in a trailer house) I did reshearse about 40 years ago and heat rises so be sensible people...... i have duct work around the outside walls and recently have placed water bottles on top of the ducts to have a hydro boost with my heat. So wonderful with other humidity, mist system going. My whole thing is about 25,000 sq feet and I grow tropicals and vegetables. Very comfortable for me to work in as well all winter. Mine is gas powered and I have a thermostat, wall mounted, no problem with the moisture.

I have a copy of the secret garden in my shelves in my room. It is my favourite childhood book. When I have trouble sleeping, I will take it out and read just a bit, and I will be back with the children in the walls. I would love to see some adventures of your trip! Oh and Happy Birthday Miah! 🥳
