Just have to share...I used this trick I learned from you to propose to my gf last week. But instead of finding a coin...she found a diamond ring. She was stunned. Speechless. Then giggling. Then said, "Yes!". It is a wonderful memory for us. Thank you !!!

@@darioandstuff2061 I used the actual pull tab for the sound while I palmed the ring and switched them discretely as I wrapped the ring up in the napkin. I did use a quarter for the pass through the hand part. But it was a ring in stead of a quarter in the napkin. The funny part is, she already knew the trick because I had performed for on her before, clumsily. I told her I just wanted to practice it on her once.

You had me every time on everything!! I now understand that the power of assumption even precedes critical thinking after I have been made aware of what I ought to pay attention to. It's probably how our brains work and how evolution solved it to be able to navigate through what otherwise would have been a constant overload of sensory input from all our senses. From what I understand our eyesight vision is much poorer than we experience due to that our brains reconstruct much of the image we see by filling in the blanks with previous data as we go along. It's probably something that is beyond our conscious will in the same way as the autonomic nervous system. For instance, from what I understand, walking is a controlled form of falling that our brains have solved in real-time and that's why it's much harder than we thought to build machines that can walk like a human. But if you trick my visual cortex you can make me fall to the ground on pure assumption even though I am prepared for something like that to happen.
@SankeyMagic5 жыл бұрын
So well put!!!!
@davereid-daly22054 жыл бұрын
He didn't trick your visual cortex. Instead he played with your perception. There are 34 visual feedback and feedforward loops which operate simultaneously. At any given time your brain can choose to use all its feedback loops or only some of them. Each set and sequence of loops returns a different perceptive outcome. Its has a lot to do with neural-gating and relevant information transfer.

Always entertaining. I'm am amazed at how you can fool folks by playing off their assumptions. I can see how it would take years to be able to do this stuff smoothly and seamlessly and naturally. You literally have to have been doing this kind of slight-of-hand since childhood. I also love the psychology involved in your speech patterns that allows you to basically control what the public is thinking, or rather, what you are allowing them to think - so it enhances the illusion and heightens their wonder. Brilliant!

Staying Alive by The Bee Gees Reason: I am a nurse, and I work in the surgical/trauma ICU. I have Designated this song as the ringtone for every one of my alarms in my phone. So, coming into work each day this song plays multiple times so its rhythm is in the back of my mind all day. The purpose for that is that this song is about 100 bpm which is the rate of compressions during CPR if done correctly. Also “staying alive” is generally the theme of the day at my workplace. For these reasons, if I were a super hero, this would be my theme song.
