Do posture supports work? Should I use a posture support? What exercises for posture and back pain can I do? Often people with bad posture can resort to using a back support to correct posture. In this video we explain why this is bad, and how to fix back posture. There's no product out there that will be the best posture corrector, or will be a posture fix, without destroying any core or back muscle competence you actually have in the process.
themayfairclin...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
You've probably seen online if you're watching this video, there's tons and tons of these postures support is a funny t shirt or funny strategy put around your shoulders, this going to magically fix your posture. And if you get caught into using these, you're going to go down a very, very slippery slope very, very quickly without knowing and end up the other end of that slope feeling a little bit lost and in a difficult situation to get back to where you need to be. So that the main cause of the main objective of these devices, these t shirts, etc, for the upper back, and then the straps and sports Florida, is to do the job that your muscles could do, because you're being too lazy and not actually working on sitting up straight or standing with good posture. So you can get away with being lazy for an extended period of time. Now, the one big problem with this is that you have all of the muscles within you to deal with this posture to maintain a good posture.
Why on earth would you make an external device go take the one of those muscles so they can waste away. Now an
example two examples to make this very, very clear for you. Number one, you all know someone
who's had an injury, then they've broken a leg or
strange something, and they've been in a cast for a period of time, and not gonna be six weeks, okay, let alone a couple of years, you see the massive difference in the muscle mass and the muscle integrity. And if you've had this, you'll feel a massive difference in the strength of those muscles when you come out of the cast that period of disuse. And you get the activity that occurs that and that's a weak spot. Now you then have to build that muscle back. So if you're using a support all time to do the job of those muscles, they're not getting the stimulation they need, and they will undergo disuse, atrophy and get weaker. The second thing is the positions and the postures that you find comfortable that you're trying to correct and you say, Man, but it's hard for me to do that. One that's because of your muscles. weekend because young man using the property for a long period of time, and a support to do that isn't going to help. But secondly, if you go to your office tomorrow, look at the person to your right and call be that Boston for five minutes,
they'll be tremendously comfortable
satellite that for an extended period. But as soon as you go into that position and give it 30 seconds to
a minute, and you're going to be really uncomfortable.
And that's because you are a product of the way in which you've used your body over a long period of time. So all those ligaments and muscles start to stretch as you get into that nice contorted position in front of your desk. And you just get used to that. And the muscles change and don't give you balance to be able to stand up straight and hold yourself properly. It's not a problem, if the act of sitting up straight is uncomfortable to start with. But you have to go through a period of time to get those muscles and ligaments to adapt and change slowly and grow slowly for you to be comfortable. Again, sitting out Proposition A t shirt or funny strap or some sort of weird support does not do that job for you. And it most certainly does not help your muscles do that job.

a pretty popular Chiro that works with fighters on yt recommended me get a back posture strap. Apart from working on these muscles we are using this to keep the load off my muscles. Sometimes just trying to correct your bad seating postures and working out isn’t enough. I do a lot of computer work, apart from my job requiring me to hover over a grill bent..Seems like I found the final piece. Core, Lats, making sure my neck muscles are strong, all do great work as well.

@@BackInShapeProgram Thank you sir! When treating conditions I am always thinking about compound interest solutions, and even if the brace might just help me 10%, together with gym and some stretching the tides are turning. Still I have to say, shoulders are tricky....especially during sleep. Note taken, will not buy the straitening strap from amazon. I lost a lot of weight and regained it a year after and I'm not capable of holding my body straight when it's being heavily pulled forward, so I considered this strap as a temporary measure while I lost weight, but I'll reconsider and heavily focus on the weight first and deal with the pain in the meantime while I regain the strength to hold myself upright.

This is exactly what I suspected. I do have a question though. I have seen some posture correctors that do not force you into good posture. You can actually slouch while wearing them although it causes discomfort while doing so. When you are using good posture, there is no resistance from the corrector itself. Doesn’t this mean you are using your own muscles to maintain the good posture? Almost acting as a reminder vs being a brace?

Ok I'm not a doctor or anything but I feel like you're approaching this wrong. First of all the leg cast was a bad example. Its not the cast that weakens your muscles its the fact that your leg is broken, so you are not able to put any weight on it or move it. I would imagine a better example for a back brace would be for instance weight straps/ankle weights. They're strapped to your ankles but its still your muscles that are doing the lifting. It should be the same with back braces. I don't think its physically possible for these braces to do what your muscles normally do. I think they are just keeping your muscles at a certain position but your muscles still do the work. Again, I'm not a doctor or anything but just what you said didn't make much sense to me. I have bad posture because I'm on my computer all day, and there's no way I can remind myself 500 times a day to sit up straight. I didn't buy a back brace but I had felt like it would have been better than nothing

I just received mine, I will wear it for 14 days and will document my experience on here: follow me! Day 1 (15/12/21): First time wearing: Worn about `1 Hour non stop. at around lunch time. It hold up well and surprisingly feels really strong although it is very light weight. Straps are sticking well and even though you tight them very firmly, does not move their position a single millimetre. Standing up is very easy, sitting is easy and you can lay back too. However the most difficult part was actually using your arms, such as washing dishes or so. However if you use a laptop, phone etc that is easy as well as you do not move your upper arm too much. Your upper body including your arm is restricted. while wearing it very tightly you won't be able to bend your back at all. if you drop a pen to ground for instance you will have to take that pen without looking at it. Or you have to bend your lower back to 90 degree position to take the pen. Wearing under a t-shirt is great however! No one can actually tell you are wearing one, as well as you do not have to use your upper arms and having to bend to ground at all! Taking off: Anyways as soon as I took it after an hour of I felt how much actually it stretched my back. for the first 40 minutes did not have any issue, but last 20 minutes I started to feel slight pain all around my upper body. Day 2 (16/12/21): To be continued...

Hi. In your personal experience, how long does it usually take for that "uncomfortable" feeling to go away after you start to actively take steps to correct your posture. For example, I'm using a lumbar support roll at work now and the last few days have definitely been more challenging due to some discomfort

It's difficult to say as everyone is starting from a different position - with different factors that affect them. As unhelpful as the answer is, the truth is, until you adapt - so just keep going until it is, working on your strengthening will help and with time you'll get there.

I disagree with your approach to try to discredit them. They are meant to help with a bad habit problem which I had. You mentioned that it’s uncomfortable to copy someone with the right posture my man has a perfect posture always getting compliments. Tried very hard to copy him work out with him I would always go back to what I’m used to. Until I got a posture support and now I’ve outgrown that habit. So no it doesn’t do nothing it just forces you to stand upright to gradually get the right posture over time.

The point is that the muscles at the front of your chest will become shortened over time and the muscles on your upper back become lengthened as a result of a incorrect posture. The brace simply aids to hold your body in a correct posture, which over time will help to shorten the muscle on your upper back and stretch the muscles on your chest. This along with relevant exercises would theoretically bring your body into a better more upright posture. I have just purchased a posture belt/strap and will begin a exercise routine as well. Hopefully it works, I'm not expecting results over night, but we should certainly try and help ourselves more and build an understanding of our own bodies

Can I use the back brace as a "guidance" to remind me to keep upright? I will still be doing all the work to keep my shoulders back and my spine straight, but having this around me would constantly remind me. I'm 19 years old and I've been using a computer for a few years now and I've only come to realisation that I really do need to fix my back before it goes to a point of no return. Have done for around 4 years. Somedays I'm fine & somedays it really gets to me & ruins my day. I have had to get up & leave from a meal a few times before as I was so uncomfortable. No real trigger. I do sleep on my stomach & apparently this isn't the greatest. Read up about having a pillow under me around the pelvis area, tried with a normal pillow you'd sleep on but felt a little uncomfortable. Not sure if that was me getting used to it or if it was causing me more harm than good. Sorry for the long message. Thanks in advance if you get back to me & take care.

What is a person to do when they've had 4 Lumbar Surgeries Jan '2005' Laminectomy February '2005' EMERGENCY SURGERY due to Facet fracture (with loss of bladder control when they fractured) Spinal Fusion L4 to S1 with prosthetic disc at S1 (that has since worn away) August '2010' removal of screws but cages left in, December '2013' Permanent Spinal Cord Stimulator which feels like annoying Bass, and CURRENTLY HAVE a COLLAPSED LUMBAR T-11 to L3. I was to do a 5th Lumbar surgery last January but fear I won't walk again. My back issues are NOT due to an accident, I was born this way, I have bone Spurs, Spondylosis, Spinal Stenosis, Scoliosis, Degenerative Joint Disease in sacroiliac, 1mm anterior subluxation L3-L4, Osteophytosis, flattening of spinal cord, anything -osis I've got it. I NEED something to support my back it feels like I have a TON OF BRICKS and as if it wants to give way. I literally just yesterday threw my back out bending about 25° and now it hurts to give my steps. It's at the scissor motion when I step with my left leg that pulls on my right leg. I have pinching, pulling and as if someone is poking my bone with needle. What would you recommend I do for support. I see pain management and I'm scheduled for Facet blocks next week. I've been doing those for 7 years rotating between Lumbar and Cervical. Facet blocks, Nerve Ablations and I am put under anesthesia everytime. Your Feed Back is GREATLY!!!! APPRECIATED!!! Thank you!! I am well aware of the disclaimer that your NOT giving me medical advice. I'm just asking for an opinion due to my circumstances. From "A Strong Titanium Warrior X 4"

@@BackInShapeProgram That is so NICE of YOU, Thank you for that. After my comment to you, I realized you're in London (insert sigh here) too bad COVID-19 hasn't let up. I'd literally hop on a plane, I did review the link you provided and I am willing to pay the membership fees. I'm going to take advantage of the Free info then I'll sign up. I will definitely keep your info handy for the future. I'm scheduled for a CT in the morning (fingers crossed)hopefully, I haven't worsened too much. Regardless, I know doing surgery is just not beneficial for me. I can't THANK YOU enough for giving me your time of day. Keep doing what you do in helping ALL of US Warriors with our Spinal battle scars. Blessings to you for your heart and knowledge!!!

You are keeping people from getting a super handy and great tool. It is not there to skip your exercise but to reprogram your body to align your shoulders in a more healthy position, ALONG with exercise. Don`t listen to this guy.

They obviously don’t recommend these. Because a simple strap is fixing what they went to school for a decade to do. They’re just mad it works and puts them out of business guys.

@@alexrenolds504 I think you'd be best off watching this more recent video we did on the only one that we would recommend. maybe when you're working from home. It's the one that really we could justify to people. but no need to use it when going to bed. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iKicYZarZtB7gZI

Why did you buy it? It’s not meant to train you it’s meant to help you get out of the bad habit of slouching your back etc. so it works to fulfill the purpose it’s been designed for.
