Amazing video! I’ve been waiting years for someone to put out a video or even article on this topic. For anyone wondering, a "pitchers web" is usually a basket weave, or anything where you CANNOT see thru it. This is to protect the fingering of your pitches. It may be unlikely someone can see ur fingers inside an h web but why risk it.

I've read somewhere that outfield gloves use H webs to actually look at the ball true the web. Also can be helpful when the ball is in the sun. I've purchased a new gloves this year and I've switched from full web to H, and I love it since my position is always outfield. Thanks for the great video

I agree with Robbie I wouldn't recommend looking through the web either, use the glove to block the sun that way if you have to move you never lose sight of the ball you're relying on looking through a small window in the glove and hoping that that window aligns with the glove blocking the sun not even a good habit to start doing. Close the glove and use it to block the sun like you're supposed to lol.

Outside of the pitcher and catcher positions, you pretty much can't go wrong with an H web. They're common in the outfield and at 3B, reasonably prevalent at 1B, and even some middle infielders use them (like DJ LemMahieu and Corey Seager). I think this is because the H web mostly accommodates the glove pattern; it likely won't make it deeper or more shallow.

When it comes to durability I feel that as far as cross and h gloves go, the always seem to be less durable than the basket web. From my perspective, this is all personal preference and comfort.

The "6-fingered" Rawlings Trapeze model was specially designed for Stan Musial, so he could use the same glove in both right field and at first base near the end of his career. I got my own Stan Musial HOH TG-12 in late 1960 when I was almost 8. I use a tan 13-inch "6-fingered" Rawlings HOH Trapeze PRO-TB24 these days for my senior softball, whether I play third base, first base, or outfield. My 32-year-old daughter has two tan "6-fingered" Rawlings HOH Trapeze gloves.

When I was a kid. I got a baseball glove for Christmas.. it was very good quality (Rawlings) We didn’t know what position it was designed for. I broke it in by playing with it, and it didn’t matter. I played as a baseman/outfielder/short stop even pitcher occasion. What matters most is your athleticism. A good athlete or make any club work in any position with the exception of catching.

When it comes to relacing a web after a lace breaks, would an H Web be a much simpler relacing job than a Trap or 6 Finger, what with all the elaborate "braids" that those webs require? Or does an experienced glove relacer have no trouble with either of those? I ask because if I were to go out and buy a top of the line glove to "last me a lifetime", I'll plan on keeping it forever and that includes inevitably relacing it at some point rather than move on from it, and if an H Web is a much simpler relacing job, that could be another point in its favor.

I like a slightly deeper pocket at short 11 3/4" and the shallowest possible at 2nd, (I like my 2nd baseman's glove to be flat like a frying pan 11-11 1/4"). I like an H web for third with a deep pocket 11 3/4 to 12". Outfield minimum 12.5" with an H web. I love the three finger style, too. Pitcher - anything that can hide the ball.

Just bought a 12" 'pitcher' glove to use as my main softball glove. I couldn't even imagine going larger than 12" but many/most do.
@Ireland8312 жыл бұрын
I used to use my 12.5" outfielders glove as my softball glove. I think 11" is not nearly big enough for softball. 12"..is OK....sort of depends on the design and depth of pocket. I think if you don't make the glove close thumb to pinky then do not use it for softball. Not sure about your situation, but I would buy a dedicated softball glove as that 12" glove you have is probably on the small side.

You should try out a hockey goalie glove. Each manufacturer has a specific feel as well as each of their models has a different closure. The pockets can act differently based on whether the lacing is nylon or skate lace and also the T for the pocket either being a single or double changes how the gloves receive pucks. Does a spiral lace on an i web matter bc that’s what I got and I play second

I have a 44 with the spiral I-web and like it a lot. It does make the web more ridged structurally so that’s just a preference thing. I would think keeping a more ridged web would help with ball transfers but maybe that’s just me….

Hey bro, I’,m a big fan and I was wondering if you could do a video in the Kris Bryant model. I got my dad one for Christmas and always thought it was weird how he used such a big glove at 3rd and how he shapes it.

Have you ever tried getting an Asics glove like Shohei's? I'm not willing to take the $600+ dollar gamble, but maybe the Ball Glove King is :)

I love mixing, shallow pocket glove models with traditionally deeper webs in the infield. There's endless combinations.
