That had to be one peaceful night on the water. You had bass, pike and Dwight Yoakum to add some fun. I have an original Grass rat lure in bone white with the pickle shape. Amazing how loaded your fishing places are! I would just use a buzzbait most of the time at your places, the best overall lure for covering lots water with so many fish and pretty much weed free shorelines I really like the plopper lures, but nothing beats a buzzbait for the most water coverage, but you can throw a buzzbait in to some mazes and get it out of places the ploppers might not make it out of.

Between getting the internal parts lined up after every bite and having the bottom drainage hole in the middle of the lure so I’d have to pretty much fold it in half to squeeze the water out, it was too much frustration to fish that lure again.

AWESOME VIDEO and like casualangler576 said!!! Definately relaxing and entertaining to enjoy watching. You have it down pat on putting a person in the Kayak fishing with you, THANK YOU for the experience!!! With all the rain and flooding going on here in Iowa. Time spent on the water this year has been very minimal. Going next week to NW WI. for a week of fishing and your videos sure do get a person primed to go. Like yourself I'm a passionette Pike fisherman with a desire to one day catch a Muskie. Maybe this trip to WI. it will happen. I know its said about Pike. But in reality LM Bass are way worse. They/Bass are catchable with hooks attached to a licence plate. The Pickle lure never stood a chance without being eaten from a LM Bass!!! LOL

It occurred to me sitting here, having my coffee, that I've *rarely* if EVER seen a boat out on the lakes where you fish. For that matter, I've hardly seen any other people using the water at all, save for your buddies once in a while! Amazing, but interesting all at the same time! So I paused the video and wrote that comment right before you talking about the storm cell moving in. Hit play and you're at the next lake and you've got more people! haha anyway

I have 7:1 for all three. Most of the lures I throw I’m aiming at a small fishy looking area so I’ll work it 10-15ft through there and if I don’t get bit I like to get the lure back in fast to re cast. I don’t toss many lures that need a lot of cranking power where a lower gear ratio would be better.
@adamdevries81215 ай бұрын
@ndyakangler Thanks I'll check out the 7:1 zillion.wast sure if you were using 7:1 for your spook jr.Thanks.I'm using a paddle kayak aswell and fish shore lines.I agree that a faster gear ratio is best.I don't fish deeper .some lakes I fish have alot of traffic .pleasure boaters.jet skis etc. So I tend to fish early and later in the day..and the fish are usually tucked under docks.or close to shore. And weeds.curious what knot you like to use to tie on your lures? Thanks for letting me know about your set up.all the best my friend.

I have to conclude fish in general will grab anything that might be food before others. This could be just another block of wood or something. They could always spitted back out. Right? if it wasn't for the hooks. I see that all the time in an aquarium as well as my backyard pond.
