Looks like you had a great time. Enjoyed the video great job what river system or lake is that I don’t mind sharing anyways, you keep Fishing keep catching them. We’ll keep watching them.

Hey thanks a lot for watching! Don't recognize your name so if your new thanks a lot for checking out the video, they're usually not that long. If you've been here before sorry I didn't recognize you I will next time. And that's the lower Susquehanna River in MD. I usually fish the upper section of it in PA for channels and flatheads, but in the winter I fish there and the Potomac River around D.C. for big blue cats.

Great video and great fishing bro .. I was down a couple weeks ago and got a 53 pounder out of there 👊🏼💪🏽
@TheFlattyDaddies8 ай бұрын
Whoa that's awesome man congratulations! That's definitely the biggest blue I've heard come from the Susky so that's cool to hear. They're getting bigger! Bet that was a battle.
@jay-7178 ай бұрын
@@TheFlattyDaddies yes It was a insane battle bro for sure ! After getting him in the boat I called my boy and headed to the dock ,of course I left the scale in the truck . Yes I have heard they are getting bigger also . Keep up the good work !!

@TheFlattyDaddies8 ай бұрын
Thanks man that means a lot! Good to see you in the comments again. I try not to make the videos that long but there were just so many big fish I couldn't make it shorter. That place is getting better every year! Have you been out fishing much?

@chriswalls58318 ай бұрын
You're catching not next to the bridge but close to it nice cats though where I'm at if I had boat I turn it about 20 to 40 yards by the bridge throwing in the current with it not vs it.
@TheFlattyDaddies8 ай бұрын
Hey man thanks for watching! That's cool you fish that area too it's a great spot on the river. I think I know the area you're talking about there's a nice big hole there that has produced for me before. That has to be tough bank fishing there when that current is flowing so hard. If you see me putting in ever and I don't have any one with me say hi and I'll take you out with me. Plenty of room on that boat. If nothing else it'll show you the depths along the bank where you fish.
@Ben-c6j8 ай бұрын
You called it years ago when you were catching all the 20-30lbers that in 5-10 years the lower Sus would hold some monsters! Good job sir, you won’t have to make as many trips to the Potomac soon enough
@TheFlattyDaddies8 ай бұрын
Hey man thank you for sticking around for that long! And yeah despite the people commercial catching them they are still growing in size and number. Someone in the comments said they caught a 53lber a few weeks ago down there, so who knows how big they are or how big they'll get. That would be awesome if I didn't have to go to the Potomac all the time for monsters. Thanks for watching!
@TheAnglerJay8 ай бұрын
Good to see you back out! Definitely think they school heavy in winter months! They might be in there thicker than the potomac. Wow!
@TheFlattyDaddies8 ай бұрын
Hey man thanks a lot, it was good to get a video out again. I was dragging my feet editing for some reason, but I've got another one almost done and there's some bruisers in it. When they are schooled up like that in the winter they are definitely thicker than the Potomac, I've had good action on it but nothing compared to when the Susky is hot.

Dude you can't move when you're getting slammed like that!!! Looks like they was wearing you out???!! 😂😂
@TheFlattyDaddies8 ай бұрын
Yeah it's always a tough decision whether to move or not, especially when they're biting. But the KZbin videos don't show the down time either. I just know when they are on like that, whenever the bite slows down and I move to another spot I get slammed again. And I try to switch up the spots and scenery for the people watching, even if in that area it doesn't look all that different. Thanks for watching! And yeah I was pretty tired after that trip lol

@@TheFlattyDaddies Went and took a drive to find Marina Park in Port Deposit. We found it but they had it closed off due to all the wood and trash/grass that washed up during the storm. Water must have been super high! Saw the Railroad police there and he said to go to Perryville and check out their ramp. We did but it did look like it had any place to park. Also at the Marina Park the cop said that you had to get a permit. Permit place wasn't open. Looked like it would have been flooded out anyway. Whats the permit cost there??

Man I'm just really lucky to have two rivers within driving distance that hold so many blue cats. I couldn't catch flatheads last year to save my life though lol. Thank you for watching! I hope you can get a boat soon, even if it's just a jon boat with a 9.9 motor. As long as it runs and floats it's all you need in most situations. I got that pontoon because my family wanted to get out with me and we needed the space, but it's definitely more than I need. Good luck out there!

What's the closest boat ramp to put you at the 95 bridge? Which one do you recommend??
@TheFlattyDaddies8 ай бұрын
I've been using the ramp at Marina Park this year since the Port Deposit ramp went to only yearly passes and it's $100 for out of staters. The Marina Park is $10 a day and is very close to where I like to fish. They also do a great job at keeping it open and clean. Good luck out there!

On your second fish it made me wonder why people leave rod holders in every where (in the way)
@TheFlattyDaddies8 ай бұрын
Hey man thanks for watching! I like having all those rod holders so I can choose where I put my rod. The location of the rod can help keep the line where I want it if there's a lot of current. In PA we can only use 3 rods per person so it gives me lots of options. They do get in the way but for me it's worth the trade off.
@DarrylHanks-j1j8 ай бұрын
Fish definetely run together, I had four rods go down at once while control drifting, it was a mess to deal with. but I would not trade that memory for nothing:)
@TheFlattyDaddies8 ай бұрын
Yeah there's definitely something to that. I never put enough attention to it before but now that I think back on my blue catfishing I do get a lot of doubles and triples. I bet that was nuts having four rods get hit while drifting, it's bad enough anchored. I hope you have that happen again!
@PopPopJoe8 ай бұрын

@TheFlattyDaddies8 ай бұрын
Hey thanks for watching again! And yeah that's the 95 bridge. It's a great area to fish from there up to where it gets shallow.

Nothing personal, but how many fishing pols are you using? We have an old saying, "If you shoot a machine gun into a pack of hogs, you're bound bound to take home some bacon" Just kidding! Peace and blessings.
@TheFlattyDaddies8 ай бұрын
I have a saying too, if I drive really far to catch my fish I want the best chance to catch as many as possible. Which leads to me fishing with 6 rods if they allow it. In PA we're only allowed 3 rods so I stick to that and still enjoy fishing, but when I'm down in MD tidal waters fishing for those blues I love maximizing my fish catching opportunities. It gets chaotic at times but it keeps me super busy and off my phone, completely absorbed in fishing. But everyone fishes differently and there's nothing wrong with that as long as it's legal. Thanks for watching!

From everything I’ve read in the laws and from the wardens is 3 rods per person, only exception is trolling in march in the bay.
