A few months ago when I was reviewing for the Civil Engineering board exam I was looking for a motivation, then I stumbled upon your channel. Your videos kept my spirit up when I was studying day in and day out. I PASSED THE EXAM!!! 🎉 😊 I'm finally getting clients and designing homes. I now work 15 hrs a day at home but just like you I don't mind it 'cause I'm doing what I love. I still watch your videos when I'm working or whenever I need an extra push. In the future, I want to be successful like you are. Thank you so much for inspiring me. 😊💕

Watching you stay at office till late makes me reminice to my college day when my friends and i will stay at one of our school classroom, and order take outs while waiting for our laptops to finish rendering. While the cleaning lady constantly asking us to go home cause she had to lock down and us begging her for 5 more minutes and bought her dinner and coffee so she would let us stay for another hour😂

Karin, question... *1. How did you get the opportunity to quote/do a proposal on this job?* Was it a cold call? Was it a referral? Was it networking? An incoming enquiry into your office? Existing project? Thanks!
@monica41585 жыл бұрын
@Bailey Rae Hey Bailey, yes, I was just wondering myself also ... I love listening to Entrepreneurship channels on KZbin (Karin being one of my favs) and have always wonderef what mix of thier actual yearly incoming new business is made up of.... but more importantly, How do they even get the opportunity to even get in front of a potential client to even do a proposal... example; *NEW Client BIZ - not existing clients* Year 1 - 100% Cold calling + Networking Year 2 - 50% Cold calling + 50% referrals Year 3 - 60% Referrals + 30% Incoming enquiries + 10% Cold calling AND to top it all off, from the proposals that are sent to quote on new business, out of every 10 proposals that are sent, how many(what %) are won that turn into paying clients? I dunno, I'm just a numbers gal!!! Wishing you all the best Bailey😊

If I may inject a point for growth in the business. Teach those who you collaborate with, to change from being a "Yes, yes" associate, and realize that they must engage in constructive dialogue, with other opinion that differ from your ideas, a variety concepts are what is required for growth in the company. You would want to know that the company can operate without your direct involvement. This means more business, and more deligation, means more profit. Best regards 🏝️

Karin! I have been watching your videos for the last few days and am so impressed and in awe of the process. I’ve been considering switching fields (currently I work in the medical field, though I have a bachelor’s in fine arts!). Your videos have inspired me to pursue interior design.. I’ve watched your video on your journey into getting to where you are, but do you have any input as to what level of schooling you would be more apt to hire if the resume came across your desk? In the US, there are bachelor level programs as well as master level. Do you think it matters? Or are portfolio review and character assessment prioritized in the hiring process? Thanks!!! Can’t wait to watch more, I would love to work for you if I lived in Canada. Your team seems like an amazing troupe!

Hey Karin! I watch your videos every Monday! you are such a big inspiration for me and my interior design journey. i watch you videos every morning before class. I love your work and I been watching your journey for a while, So Inspiring! I have a question though. Us, your supporters and watchers see the great side of things in your videos but i wanted to know what are disagreements like with your designers. As i watch your videos It seems like when your designers come and show you what they work on and you add in what could make it better or what should be taken out, do they ever say no to you? or why they don't like a decision you made? or is it always "since she is the boss let's just go with what she wants"? Since we never see that, does that ever happen or is that something you don't want us to see? I'm trying to process pros and cons. and how to balance out that situation if it was to happen.

I wonder why the House of Bohn designers didn’t *sell* their original colour palette (red/dark wood). Karin seemed to change the fundamental direction with clear rationale from the client. In fairness, the video can’t capture everything, maybe that didn’t make the cut.
