He’s not wrong. I mean look at Notre Dame being independent and not joining the conference. How is it fair for them skipping conference championship game to playoff while others conference teams have to risk for their conference championship game?

Would you rather play bama or uga or someone in the sec championship and potentially lose? Or not play and potentially be a 5-6 seed. Play someone like Boise or a low seed. And then play byu or Colorado or smu in your next round. The choice seems pretty clear

College football is a business. I’m on Lane’s side on this one. Conference championships don’t mean as much as they used to. Business is business at the end of the day. Risk/reward just doesn’t seem to be worth it.
