I actually have a guest character I thought of for COTW. Now it's not a fighting game rep and some might think it's out of place, but the way her design is and from a spin off fighter based on that series I looked up, I think she could translate well into Fatal Fury in my opinion. That would be Hong Meiling from Touhou fame. I know she'd be another Kung Fu fighter when we already have Hotaru and we're all pretty sure Gato will be back, but I think for an interesting and out of the box choice, I figured Meiling would be a fun idea. I know Touhou is mainly a hard core shooter, but some of the designs I could see being used for an action or fighting game and Meiling fits the latter.

What pisses me off the most about guest characters is when they include them in a game that already has a crap ton of characters. mk literally has 50 playable characters yet they get shafted for characters that arent even a mainstay for the game. they really waste resources on a character they will never be in the next game. it makes even less sense when the actual series of games has enough characters to pull from, if muthaf-@#$% bleach ever becomes a fighting game and it has a freaking guest character i gaurentee people will not be happy, because there are almost 100 characters from the anime you could use instead. just imagine playing your favorite fighting game and some guest character gets in over the character you've been playing for a decade. sorry about the rant

For me personally, the only way for guest characters to be a problem is if they *don't fit* in the fighting game their in! Think about it, we go back to MK9, the guest characters we got were Kratos and Freddy Kruger, and they both fit perfectly in that game! Because MK is all about blood and gore, extreme violence, and horror aesthetics, and the God of War games and Nightmare on Elm Street both have those same features. Then, with MKX, we got Jason Voorhees, Leatherface, Xenomorph and Predator, and again they fit well in the game, because of its dark and gritty background. MK11 however, we got Robocop, Terminator, Joker, Spawn, and Rambo, and well that lineup of guests, feels pretty mediocre in my opinion, because some of them do fit well, while others don't. Now, with MK1, we have Omni-Man, Homelander, and Peacemaker, and soon we are getting Ghostface, T-1000, and Conan the Barbarian! So, Mortal Kombat's guest characters is getting *burned out* With Injustice, we only got Scorpion, only because NRS wanted to. Then with the sequel, we got Sub-Zero, Hellboy, Raiden, and the TMNT, and it felt like they were overshadowing other DC characters that weren't in the game. (which I guess that's what led to MK11 and MK1 now having 6+ guests!) Then with Soulcalibur 6, we got Geralt and 2B, they worked well because the game had swords and hammers involved. With Tekken 7, Akuma and Geese Howard worked well because they also are fighting games, and have that tournament vibe that Tekken shares. However, Negan (Walking dead) and Noctis (Final Fantasy), they are like only there because of fanbase purposes. Then, with KOF15, we got Haohmaru, Nakoruru, and Darli Dagger (team Samurai Shodown), I mean why include weaponry characters when not everyone in KOF uses a weapon (excluding Billy Kane, since he has a staff) Finally, with Street Fighter 6, we have Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui, who are from SNK's "Fatal Fury" and "King of Fighters" and they work because Capcom and SNK have crossovered so well in the 90s Overall though, guest characters in fighting games can work, *ONLY* if the *FIT* well in that certain game!

Hot take: I get Bison returning. Thanks to the SFA lore(which kind of retcons 2), the mf is a damn body surfer. I'd have the story be that Bison's new body should be pretty weak(something like "Zombie" Sigma in Megaman X6)and work from there. Maybe have his definitive end be that Cammy truly wipes him out this time, which(theoretically)helps with her character's closure and maybe even get T-Hawk back to relevancy(remember, his sister is one of the Bison Dolls)too.

If I had the opportunity to do KP2 for MK1: Sonya, Jade, Kano. For guests: Punchline(DC), The Crow, Jago(KI). Now Street Fighter 6 I think it’s gonna be 1 guest character and 3 sf characters each season for now on (depending on how many seasons we’re getting out of this game). (Hopefully it’s six seasons), but here’s the reality, some street fighter characters were probably never going to make the cut anyway (to be honest). Fatal Fury: cotw I think will have a street fighter character or two as a guest(s) in the game. By the way, The Chris Lotus big fan of your content. You’re a top tier creator. Keep doing your thing brother.

I really really do not like MK guest characters as of recent. I mean it’s not like I’m toxic or a dick about it to people that disagree with me. But This is the worst pack of DLC for MK. It just feels too random like Ghostface really he’s not a fighter and for T 1000 he’s only iconic within the terminator franchise not outside of it And it kind of feels the only reason they made Cyrax and Sector females is because the guest characters took the spot of MK females and for Conan I guess he the only one that makes sense. He’s all about dark fantasy, fighting monsters and stuff and he fits quite well with Mortal Kombat.

Well actually I would say it’s the opposite in some cases the Queen’s Blade ecchi franchise had an RPG crossover with fighting game characters on the psp called Queen’s gate spiral chaos and people have described the card game as a fighting game. Queen’s Blade to this day doesn’t have a fighting game or a guest character in a fighting game.

U meant "Asuka" not "Bedman" with the "?" mark situation. I also really hate the over usage of guest fighters in MK but I simply just don't play the game

@OnyxeBlade Its Bedman? (Delilah) that uses a question mark not Asuka. Asuka uses the That Man alias. It actually kind of an amalgamation of both of when you think about it. Using the question mark and hiding behind an alias.
