Do Filipino men resent foreigners dating their women? It's an obvious question on the minds of many western men, as they travel to paradise to choose a Filipina beauty - wouldn't the local guys take a dim view of the added competition? Don't foreigners make it even harder to find a mate? Well, let's ask them: do Filipino men resent foreigners dating their Filipina women?

Majority of these Men are too nice and very polite guys. And a bit too feminine I guess it is just how majority of guys are overthere. I feel about BAD because hyperghamy is a Real thing girls are just going for a better deal foreigner WHO is Richer more income ,different more masculine etc . Its the same in the West GIRLs are going for the better deal always they choose the better guy, seems in the Philippines the foreigner is the better deal ,but these guys are just Well behaved and nice gentlments they dont take IT in a Bad Way, I could see in general they are good people; I would be Mad if someone comes from other culture and start dating our girls in EUROPE,but I guess its just different culture

He's pretty accurate but not on the under age girls , western Foreigners are here for a traditional Philippino and cheaper living , it's very rare a western gos for a very young girl , it's mostly middle eastern men getting in trouble over that here where I live . The Philippines is more strict on that than many countries . My 10 years here I've never heard on a western man getting in trouble over a young girl but I've heard of a couple middle east men getting in trouble and deported .

@@jamestopeka2236 Yeah, the more traditional feminine aspect is a big part of it. Women in the West have become more masculine and promote the “boss babe”/“I’m a strong independent woman and I don’t need no man” mentality and therefore don’t appreciate the men, so the men would rather go somewhere else where they actually ARE appreciated by them and not demonized.

You did a great job with this topic and the guys were so well spoken. Another topic not often discussed by bloggers is the issue of National Security with China infringing upon Philippines territories in the Philippines seas. Deepening cooperation between the Philippines and the USA is very important for both countries. I hope you might look into this topic for a future blog by interviewing Filipinos on their concerns of Chinese infringements (claiming Philippines atolls, their military buildup on and around these atolls plus illegal fishing) as well as the concerns some Filipinos have regarding the three new military bases being built in the Philippines resulting in US troops, ships, and planes about to stationed in PI.

Funny you'd point that out cos I'm also curious about the immigration aspects of the issue. And I wonder if I'm the only one who took notice of the sudden appearance of those "no spitting" signs during the influx of Chinese immigration under Duterte.😂

You found a lot of very thoughtful young men to interview, Pea. It was quite interesting to note that only one seemed to resent foreigners dating Filipinas, and, even, then he wasn't really that resentful. I was laughing when you asked "why?" when one of the guys said that he noticed there are a lot of foreigners coming to Dumaguete recently. I could see in your mind that you were thinking "It's because of my vlogs."🤣🤣🤣 Does it hurt when those fish bite your earlobes and hang on them like that?😱

The best explanation for the "Foreigners Date Ugly" question that I've heard about and thought through myself has more to do with familiarity with any given set physiological traits than anything else. Effectively the Preferences or Beauty Standards a person develops growing up and living in a given environment/culture and produce a generally agreeable scale in that area, but when someone moves to a drastically different area that development experiences something akin to "Culture Shock" or "Jet Lag" and certain physiological traits get sorted into the novel or exotic categories and get a passive boost to their ratings in the early years. The same will be true of anyone moving from one demographic anywhere in the world to another demographic elsewhere in the world. This will be exceptionally pronounced when going to or from a very homogenous culture, which happens to more often be the norm in Asia, Africa, and South America. Eventually the sample size in the new area will either merge with the old, overtake the old, or become a new segment for rating. At which point the foreigner or immigrant's rating sale will gradually approach closer to a locals with blatant preference adjustments, but the segment wide novelty/exotic modifier will diminish over time. Now to make it easier to visualize with the 1-10 scale oft used. I think most people can pick out a 1-3 basically anywhere, the 9-10s are apparent pretty quickly, and the 7-8s tend to be objectively decent looking people that happen to strike a few preferences for the person rating and even between people from the same area and demographic will probably vary widely. Now for the 4-6 range, or the average, can be quite off from the local perception simply due to sample size. So now a person's 1-10 scale is essentially a 1-3 + 7-13 and no one uses 11-13, so almost everyone is a 1-3, 7-8, or a 10, since everyone who is at least average is getting an extra 2-3 points for exotic/novelty, and then maybe a few more when they hit preference overlaps. So now the foreigners are picking up local average people before they have developed a scale for their new area, and the locals see the ones picked up as "nothing special" since they were the neighbor kid not the model/actor/musician they've been drooling over since their teens. While normally for western cultures Asians get the "Exotic" tag, but for many of those cultures things like "Blonde Hair/Blue Eyes" get that treatment, but when kept in their home demographic both are nothing special or don't affect the rating system. There is a secondary problem that ties in for major media export countries, think the USA, Korea, and Japan. The foreign perception of these cultures features are heavily skewed towards the top of the spectrum and since people will be only rating against them and the ratings either get dragged up or blown away from average. Think things like, white man = Bradd Pitt or Henry Cavill, black woman = Beyonce or Halle Berry, Korean man/woman = BTS/Blackpink member. You end up with either an objectively okay looking dude is next to Henry Cavill on the scale because in the person's head there is only like 5 or 6 similar guys. So then these people will meet in say the Philippines and this 4-6 American guy meets a 4-6 Filipina, the American got 2 or 3 points from her for being 1 of 10 American Men on her scale that is exclusively 8-10s unbeknownst to her, and she got 2 or 3 points from him for going from being 1 of 5 or so Filipina's he known to being 1 of few thousand he saw this month and his brain hasn't quite processed that "Weighs less than me, smiles during greetings, and doesn't complain/ignore me all the time" aren't special or rare qualities anymore. So by the time either of them get past this or develop their mental databases, their partner probably became special or resented for something that doesn't translate onto a photo anymore. In conclusion the locals notice someone not having developed a local standard before dating as "Foreigners Date Ugly".

Women in general date men for economic purposes and that's the vast majority of women. This doesn't make them a gold digger which just using him for money and fancy things, not just basic needs. Other ladies call me “Maninoy” and are always asking me to find an “American Boyfriend” for them and in such a case, I become protective of my American friends! Filipino men don't really care if some foreigners are dating a filipina woman same with us filipino men who married a white chicks or latina. Interracial couple is fine but the most annoying thing about foreigners dating a filipinas mostly they come to the philippines for spreading pedophilia, pornography, sexual abuse, womanizing, and always putting down to Filipino men and western women about their problem. Lastly most filipina women prefer their own men than foreign guys (except if you are southeast asian guy and east asian guy) especially an upper class filipina and middle class filipina and they think all foreign guys are a threat, untraditional men, and misogynist. Remember 117 population in the philippines, so there are more filipino-filipina couples than filipino-foreign couples and we have beauty standard. That's why we ain't really care if foreigners married Filipinas.

It even shows in this interview. It just so happens Filipino people generally are very open and welcoming hence mostly everyone is open to date a foreigner. Despite Filipinos being fluent in English, of course the native language/Filipino language hits more personal and closer to one's heart. I tried to compare myself and my friends back when we were the same age and, boy, we definitely knew a lot and could express ourselves well - both male and female. I was out of the country for 20 years and was quite shocked when I came back. But then again, I've lived in the Capital region NCR of the country, and I wonder if that's a factor as well. @@CABell-6thsept I think it's just what we know from social experiments with women. Women tend to conform to group behavior and talking points and what to say, expectations etc. We know this even from salary experiments where if they all know what they are going to ask for salary they all cluster around the same number. But if they don't know what each other is getting, then they all try to get as much as they can for themselves. They have evolutionary reasons for this, but it boils down to not trying to raise their status and so they don't show they are a threat to other women around them. That's also why their friends are the same level as beauty as them, not a threat.

As a filipino grewing up in Dumaguete and I do not feel that the foriegners are stealing our women, not true at all, and I think most filipino men agree with me. If you rate a woman 1 to 10 in beauty most of the filipinas that the foreigners marries or date are rated 4-5-6 , to the foreigners they are rated maybe 8-9-10 lol sorry to say that, good for the filipinas then, they get to marry a foreigner to better their life status. Filipini men tend to like light skinned mestiza women. So nothing to be mad about if they marry flipinas or make thrm their gf. My true opinion as a filipino and now living in the US.I am a US Navy veteran from Dumaguete and I am happy to see many Americans marry filipinas, no recentment at all. My ship go over thr world and I am happy tosee filipinas in many parts of the world married to foreign men. My only complaint is you have to watch out for the taxi drivers trying to take advantage of you! I am being accepted into the rural community still getting used to chismis! Sure, I have been subject to some of it. But I don't mind. I wake up every day 100m from a white sand beach, its wonderfully warm, love the chickens, my gf is amazing, and I can buy half a bottle of run once a week for 75php !!! In my experience it is best to distinguish between the kinds of foreigners coming to the Philippines 🇵🇭. One group are older divorced men looking for a second chance to find love with a younger traditional wife. These men usually have a personal liking for the Philippines and it’s culture. Another group are the men who are seeking a gf who may or may not later become a wife. These men are taking things easy and want to experience more of the Philippines. Another group are those foreigners who are related in some way to people in the Philippines and come to vacation with family. The last group (and worst) are the foreign “sex tourists” composed of pedophiles. One should be very careful “who” you meet from a foreign country and what their intentions are. 😊😊😊

Pea: It's funny that the key thing to take a very strong mental note on in this video is your comment at the end. Intentions are everything. When a person travels to another country, whether it be to migrate or just visit, intentions are the thing that separates how their experience will be, and how the locals will feel about them. When travelling with good intentions, and an open mind and heart, the possibilities are limitless on how positive the experience for both you and the place that you travel to. It's all up to the traveler on what the intentions will be. As some of the men you interviewed said about rude behavior, Those are the travelers that didn't make the intention check for themselves before they left home. You just shouldn't go to another country and expect things to be exactly the same as they are in your home country. If that were the case, WHY GO ANYWHERE? Keep up the great work my friend.
