I bought the Fiido D4s 3 weeks ago which is very similar. I thought it was the best thing I've ever bought because it's faster than a car as my average time per mile on the bike is 5.1 minutes, and in my car my average time per mile is 7.2 minutes (over the whole of April). If getting some exercise commuting to work and enjoying it, and with the price of Diesel well within a year it will have paid for itself. Glad to be put right by this video and some of the comments I've obviously bought a piece of crap and instead of using it on a BMX trail I've stupidity been using it for commuting to work.

Er, why? They're made for commuting, ie putting them on trains at all times of day. If you want to go off roading, buy an off road bike. Bit like asking "will this multi purpose pen knife chop this oak tree down?" Yes , given enough time, you probably could but you'd be a knob trying. Use a friggin axe. Having said that, my folder has a bafang mid drive and a rear geared hub together and not much beats me off the lights. I haven't tried it like a BMX, but I'm sure someone will try 🥴

The folding clamp needs adjusting. It’s far too loose. Mine is much tighter. It’s a 2 second job.

Greets from colonies ... [Canada, eh?] ... Given more than half the planet today as "urban"... [used to crumbling infrastructures ... "off road" ... not so much] ... "Intermodal " blending trains etc ... Folders Super Handy for commuters ... [plus, parking in the closet at work has a lower risk of it "disappearing" .. ask your insurance agent] ... Nice to stow aboard for sailors ... Re "locking" lever ... compare their design of fold with eg a Brompton ... Cheers

fairly confident that bike will not last the year with this kind of riding, or at least without serious regular upkeep and preventative maintenance. Although in all fairness if the frame cracked the entire thing would be binned anyway bar the electrical components.

I use the fat tire version all the time off road. It's extremely fun. I am going to try a mountain bike trail when the weather gets better. My guess is it will cope fine with it.

@@dtz1000 Yeah I had it, he did not test the bike all; that well and used it for what it is just not designed for. The ado 20, did well, great speed at 35 KPH and with some pedal power, most hills, easy. I went another folderlike - But its 750W with fat tire, a Snow bike and it will leave most of his bikes behind on hills but even this bike wont go as fast as the ado 20.

Mate, some folders have better clamp mechanisms than the type of this one. Watch the clamp when your on the rough, it has way too much movement even if it only unfolded once on ya. I had a folder same as Andy kirbys with the radio on the back, the clamps a little better made on that one would never undo. Still I ended up selling my fat folder bike and keeping my specialized hardrock sport I converted, same back and red one you done a short while ago. Much better feel and geonometry. Still though mate, watching that long annoying stem on that folder just bring back some annoying memories of them bikes. Stem is enough to put me off. Unless your regularly putting your bike in the back of a corsa with your kids also in the back then a folder may then have its perks Keep up the videos mate good stuff 👍

Well THAT bike is rubbish no matter if it folds or not! I actually dislike that style because it looks like you're riding a piece of I-beam. That latch design is unsafe, and I won't buy a bike with it. In contrast, a design like the RadMini uses a three step mechanism and can't come loose. We had eleven bikes when I got the RadMini (former marathon cyclist), and it's become one of my favorites. A couple of minor mods makes it out perform 1000 watt mid drives with ease, and the owner of a company that makes e-bikes disinvited me from their group rides because it made them look bad. I ride in state parks and mountain bike trails frequently, and the best bit is coming back, popping the bike into the trunk, and being on my way while others are struggling with their bike racks.
@dtz10002 жыл бұрын
I own the fat tire version and it's not rubbish. It's especially good for the UK as it's a 500W ebike that is legal where only 250W is usually allowed. You being from America will have better choices available to you though.
