It's make more sense to say, 'veganism is the answer to everything', but in any case, I'm sure vegans know that that's not true. Adopting a plant-based diet on world-wide basis would be very helpful, but it wouldn't leave us with no more problems to solve. However, it important to note that veganism isn't just about people eating plants-only for the environment (although there are certainly ethical arguments to be made for that), but rather it's really about un-alienating animals from their right to live and not be exploited by others, it's about expanding our circles of inclusion, and so on. And veganism in action is defined as abstaining from using animals to greatest of one's abilities, to the extent that it does the least harm possible. Vegans _do_ believe that if more and more people do this, eventually animal liberation will be achieved. It is our hope that if people aren't taught to take it for granted the it's all right and normal to commodify and oppress sentient beings other than humans, they'll be less likely to do it to other humans. So, in that sense, we do think veganism can solve many problems, but not all

I don't know about that, this is a small handful of people. students at these places are only intelligent within what this society deems as intelligent, which has nothing to do with emotional intelligence. Some of the best conversations I've had on the topic are with people who may not be recognised as smart but when I asked them questions about this, looked within themselves, instead of looking for external answers.

I know that it might be difficult to hear that vegans want domestic animals to peacefully go extinct but that's one of the hardest things you as a vegan will have to understand and acknowledge. It was **never** necessary to steal milk from cows, no matter how certain cultures want to spin the "loving" relationship and how the cow allegedly benefits from the 'productive' relationship. There is little information about sentience? Only irrelevant excuses -- grass growing, spinach leaves, the purpose of rocks... There's no 'ambiguity' about stealing and exploiting. Perhaps he lives near a dairy farm in India that keeps the mother with the baby cow and allows suckling. That's unusual, but a few religions require it. But he may not have asked the right questions about what happens to cows when they stop producing, or what happens to male calves.

Same here, tbh when I was younger, I’ve always thought that everybody would WANT to be vegetarian(i didn’t know about what they did in the egg and dairy industry then) but they couldn’t because they valued taste over life, and I thought that everybody would agree that being vegetarian(vegan rn ofc) is morally the right way. I didn’t know people actually have excuses and some actually believe that animals are meant to be eaten. I remembered the first time hearing someone say that, my young brain literally was blown away(and not in a good way lol)

I am making the transition from an omni diet to veganism. Initially I wanted to do it primarily to reduce my carbon footprint, and then when I started watching Mic the Vegan’s videos I felt confident I was doing the right thing due to reading and discovering the scientifically backed research on nutrition and health. And then I found your channel and as a result am doing a lot more thinking about the ethical and moral implications of consuming animal products, which I had always refused to consider and rather focus on more or less selfish reasons like personal health and reversing the impact of climate change. I am fascinated by the way you debate and argue with passion, it really inspires me to make this change to reduce the suffering of the animals and to spread awareness. Thank you so much.

Ed, I want to thank you for changing my life. You are a hero. Not only do I feel much happier now because I know truly that I am doing something good, I also feel that my mind is more structured. I also changed the minds of many of my friends because they wanted to know my opinion on the topic that changed me. Not only do I think beeing Vegan benefits myself I really think I am doing something good for the world. I want to reduce suffering as much as possible and beeing vegan is a great step towards this goal. Not only did beeing vegan help me to know what I want to do but also thought me who I want to be. I thought a lot about morality and came to the conclusion that I should confront all my Problems and issues und the way to fix problems of humanity is to start to confront ourselves with our morality and structure even more who we cant to not only become as individuals but as a society. I try to get involved in some form of activism as often as I can, I usually go to an annonymous for the voiceless event once a month and do loads of online activism. The great thing about AV is that I don't feel so frustrated when I can't change all the people who are closest to me, because I know that I've helped to wake up so many other people who I've spoken to. It's so important that people like us speak out for the animals and the planet, keep up the great work!

@Kieran Jones Do you like the taste of raw, unflavoured meat? Most people don't. Besides flavouring it with loads of salt, ironically, meat is usually flavoured with plants (herbs and spices) Since going vegan I've never been healthier both mentally and physically. I'm also not lacking in any nutrients and in fact I was more lacking in nutrients when I ate meat. When moving onto a plant based diet your taste buds change, I now love the taste of almost all fruit and veg (even raw) and cannot stand even the site or smell of meat.

I'll start by saying I've been Vegan for over two years. I've never felt better in my life and beyond the health benefits, I feel that I am living so much more in synch and congruently than I ever have based on this choice. It's become a huge passion for me. Having said that, I was really moved and enlightened by the last point in this video. While we have all seen the horrors of what some of the workers do to the animals which would be considered cruelty to the highest degree, I never stopped to think of how this really can be considered the exploitation of humans as well. For those in desperate need of money to put food on the table, (no pun intended,) this would be the lowest possible job one can have if you have any love for animals at all. It makes me wonder if ANY of the workers have pets of their own. There is literally NO difference taking the life of a dog or cat, versus a pig, cow, lamb, chicken, or any other sentient being on the planet!

You don't have to eat a great amount of animal products in order to be healthy. But you do need to eat some. You can actually get by with just eating fish like salmon and mollusks, some eggs and some dairy.

I actually really enjoy the interviews on college campuses because you can tell these students actually think about their answers before they say them, and they sort of have a mini "debate" in their head before they come up with a response to make sure they aren't making any logical fallacies.
