Useful info, thanks. I'm an Ironman athlete and I've been battling with shin splints (medial tibial) for pretty much 12 months. Other than the odd week off here and there, I've been able to manage it very carefully and continue running. My main problem is speed work, the moment I throw in speed work I pull up properly injured. I think I'm at the stage now where I probably need to take 6-8 weeks off running entirely. I can stand on one foot no problem, but plyo's immediately trigger pain. I'm seriously trying to get this resolved once and for all now. What are your thoughts on standing and seated calf raises while potentially having a medial tibial stress fracture? I seem to be able to do them without pain, is that enough for me to continue? Thanks

I understood your point but I’m going through shin splint phase rn. I started boxing after my fitness program. I’ve never done rope skipping in my life and i have a chicken legs which describes that I’ve never given much stress to my leg bones. After 3-4 weeks of rope skipping and running, my inner shin bone started paining with the pain on the top of the ball of ankle. The pain is the same in both legs. I’m resting rn but it still is giving me itchy pain after i walk a lot or even after crossing the road by rushing from one end to the other. Doc said just rest that’s it. What should i do to get rid of it? Also I’m vegetarian, just to clarify of my diet

Thanks for the video. I sounds more like a stress fracture for me. But it doesn't allways hurt, if I take a break from running for a week the pain goes away. And comes back after the 3rd day of running... Is this common? Oh, and I think I may have Plantar Fasciitis, but it feels good when I stretch...

Reduce your sugar intake, increase your protein intake, Rest for 6/7 weeks and then try to train again but gradually. Start easy àd slowly work yourself up to what training you really want to do.
