If I may be so bold: I did not hear cellulitis mentioned. I came down with cellulitis in both legs about 20 years ago. The left leg much worse than the right. Antibiotics corrected the cellulitis. However, I had difficulty dealing with daily swelling for years after even though I slept with my legs elevated and wearing compression stockings. It wasn't until a friend suggested Lymphatic Drainage Message Therapy about five years ago that I got the situation under control. The right leg has returned to normal with little additional attention required. The left leg still requires periodic Lymphatic Drainage Message Therapy to keep the swelling under control, but is a significant improvement as demonstrated when I don't do the therapy the calf area swells to twice its normal size within a week.

I had major abdominal surgery but also had issues that caused lymphedema but after this surgery it has gotten worse and they simply have no clue and no direction to guide me in...thank you so much I wish I lived closer so I can be a patient of yours! What about a C-section? I've had two but the last one with my son ten years ago was when my feet, ankles feet and calves started swelling and have never really stopped. There was a student in the room when I had my last one and I was in surgery for like an hour or more longer than the first one which was only about twenty mins start to finish and out in recovery room. The student Dr was naming parts of my body to the other Dr and all kind of things that I didn't understand fully what was going on because I couldn't see or feel mostly anything for certain down below my neck region, and I was ten x more sore and in excruciating pain after this second c section and I never read anything anywhere about lymphedema until this video and you pretty much made it clear that my c section scar and surgery was the cause of my swelling from the get go. I've been sleeping on a recliner since my total hysterectomy that the recliner folds out into a bed shape but I've had enough of it and I really can't do the leg lifts in it, I use to be a very active person and done Tai Chi for 10 years plus but since my surgery I'm different now .

I had a total hysterectomy May of last year and had a little swelling in my ankles which in November of last year both feet started swelling every day and my doctor thinks it's due to my blood pressure medication and she lowered my metformin too because I had a problem with it in the past , I'm looking for exercises to help get the fluid retention down and I don't have a bed to lay flat on and I can't get on the floor so is there something out here for me to try?

I do exercises sitting on the couch or chair, it’s helps and eventually I got to where I could move around more

Ugh! Was an informative video. No offense, but I wish the guy (Red shirt) could of explained things, without being cut off every time he began to share a point. Red Shirt : "You need to look out for swelling around areas..." *cut off mid sentence* Blue shirt : "hold up, so what are we looking for...swelling? Or just enlarged areas?" Red shirt ::continues:: " that have been injured before.., or unless.." *cut off mid fragment* White shirt "so were looking for new injuries or ? I'm not following explain.?" Red shirt : :bites tongue:: " yes, swollen areas, as I'll explain, from new or old injuries, possibly... " *being interrupted multi directions::* Blue shirt:" yeah, so you mentioned that you'd explain, but this is visual right ..? No insignificant signs? Because i m not familiar, I'd like to know more, so tell us about why it caused!" Red shirts: " okay, yeah, if its only one leg, then its more likely lymph edema... " White shirt :" so not just edema? .... So that's about the way this video was , in my eyes. The exercises video was helpful. This one was just frustration. I dk what I'm more likely to have because the Two admitted to not knowing the topic, couldn't refrain from repeating him, every time he got a chance to speak again, from! Being cut off. Guy has mad Patience. Sorry, I had to be rude on this comment. I've a serious condition that needs facts, so I can deal with the next fifty years, but the guy with answers can't share because the guys suppose to be helping people are trying to help people lol.

i had total knee replacement last year in my right leg. Now i have swelling in both legs from the shins down. i have bumps all over me lower legs too. im gonna go to the doctor with this. I hope I dont have lymphedema.

I had gastric bypass surgery in May 2007 but I had the edema prior to that surgery. I now weigh 284 lbs. My left leg itches off and on every now and then. It used to leak but doesn't anymore. I walk 10,000+ steps a day. Do I have lymphedema?

Aloha, I have chronic Lymphedema partially from rare Dercum's Disease. Dercum's disease is a very painful disease that has many painful tumors, partly in the Lymphatic system, affecting the tissues under the skin, the facia, connective tissues, and adipose tissues, and more. Multiple painful growths, ( some are lipomas) often block the lymph and also grow from setting lymph. What about doing Lymphatic Drainage massage? what about swelling both ankle after 10 days of tonsillectomy. this happened to me. . now after a month it swell again but not big. the 1st swelling gone after 3days. the 2nd one after i changed my diet and walk a lot. my blood test for kidney and heart says negative for now. my EnT Dr worried at first but he says the test is negative. . maybe my sleep position or driving long hours? i sleep on a chair for 14 days after surgery...maybe graviti? i changed to very healthy diet now and drink a lot of water the swelling almost gone now. im worried.i still overweight. try so hard to lose weight now. i just 36 years old this feeling make me sad everyday even the swell now gone.

I went to ER due to pain on left side flank and back and got a CT scan. It showed an abnormality in left kidney and an MRI was done later showing some masses inside left kidney. Soon after the MRI, where they put the dye into the veins, I got really bad lymphedema both feet and legs. Could the dye have affected me? I still have it. I've been trying to get help here but we have only 1 lymphedema therapist in town and I cannot go out of town due to immobility. The 1 therapist is booked up and I'm on a waiting list so been trying to learn ways to reduce the swelling myself. Always had a tendency to get swollen ankles during long car rides or sitting down too much but this is way different. I cannot even lay down to raise my feet over my heart to get relief due to the continued back pain issues.

My right leg after RTKR. Water blisters. 4 months post-op. R leg is 3” bigger than left. Knee surgeon says it’s normal to have this for a year or even 18 months. Wish I’d never had this surgery. I’m miserable.
