Hey Julian! Thank you for the comparison. I will be in Thailand early next month for an entire month and your info will give me an idea of what to expect. I live in SoCal so I'm curious to see how the prices compare to Bangkok.

My parents and I visited Thailand in November 2022. IMO, the foods are about the same price (Thailand vs USA.) I didn't feel that street foods are sanitary enough. So, my parents always took me to restaurants around Bangkok & Nonthaburi. The restaurant I like the most is Vertigo, a rooftop dining. As far as, the fruits, I like ทุเรียน (ประมาณ ฿1,000/ภู), seedless sweet tamarind (ประมาณ ฿600 -฿900 ต่อกล่อง), dessert/ice cream with taro (จำราคาไม่ได้ครับแต่ถูก), and มะม่วง. We bought them from a grocery store inside The Mall งามวงค์วาน. Because my parents have a house within walking distance of the Mall. I also like Thai massage (facial & body). The only thing that I wished to experience, but didn't, was the Thai massage with many girls I can pick from. I heard that these girls will do more than massage. Next time, I might have to sneak out, but I only know how to get from my house to The Mall and back, and I could get lost, though.

I lived in Thailand (Pattaya) 11 years. No car. Now back in USA (Vegas) and still after 14 months, no car. Bus or Uber gets me where I need to go, and I think for less than the cost of car ownership. Food is more expensive for me. I can’t say I’ll ever return to Thailand. I’m 65, and long haul flights are not that fun anymore. Thanks for the videos !!!

That flight is brutal. Maybe better to spend a few days in Japan on a layover.

@@JULIANKGLASSER yeah I know but a nonstop would take at least an hour probably more off the flight time usually from USA west coast you have to connect in either Japan or Korea

Aloha Julian! Great to see you post! Your desk is so uncluttered; is it always that nice? Lol. Good topic you cover. My comments: cost of living is certainly high here in Hawaii. Housing is crazy, gas is highest in the USA, utilities have gone up, groceries are quite high, so Thailand wins hands down. About food, I don’t buy eggs, but a search shows a dozen eggs here is $10. About golf, a few years ago I played a course in Thailand for under $10 and caddy also under $10. You might get a course here for about $25, but that’s only late afternoon tee time, and it would be a par 3 municipal course so the maintenance is spotty. Nevertheless, Hawaii golf is pretty nice any and everyday. Lastly, to say the US girls are thicker is an understatement!!! Far more cuter girls in Thailand by a wide margin. Yes some attractive girls are here, but they think they’re a princess and unapproachable. So an easy choice: Thailand! Btw, I’m beginning my relocation to BKK in a few weeks; so excited! Bill

I’m originally from Waianae and have been here since 2019, went to see family recently and was surprised at how much more expensive food, gas and housing has become. Good luck on your transition here. I’m sure you have people here but let me know if you need any advise.

@@ikakau Wow! Interesting to see 2 local Hawaiians on the thread. And yep, HI is INSANELY expensive. Unless your rich in Hawaii, you'll be spinning wheels getting nowhere and stressing. BUT! is living in Thailand that much better than living in Hawaii? Would like to hear your opinion. Aloha guys!

It's so much easier to make money in the west and then vacation and then retire in Thailand. That's my plan! 8 years to go.

eh Julian, yea i remember that you were a Golfer. Did you take your Clubs to Thailand with you? I’ve never played Golf over there yet. I guess i could Rent Clubs over there. Golf here in Az is super expensive right now but when MLB Spring Training is over then the prices will come down. I still play about 3 times a month

I have 2 sets of clubs. One set in Thailand and one set in America. My set in America are better quality for the long clubs ex: Driver, 3 wood, and Irons. My clubs in Thailand are better quality for shorter clubs ex: wedges and putter. Need to combine the sets then will have a pretty legit set of tour quality clubs. I'm actually thinking about trying to get on the All Thailand Golf Tour in the future.

@@JULIANKGLASSER That’s awesome and i hope you are able to play on the All Thailand Tour! Hua Hin and Pattaya appeal to me because of the Golf Courses. America is a continent, USA or United states of America that's the countrie where you are. Even the inhabitants themselves believe that they are America.themselves have the perception that they are America, it is like saying that the Vietnamese say that they are Asia, without knowing that Asia represents many Countries. What is okay to say is that they are Americans like all the people of that continent from North, Central and south America.

Not the way we use the word american. To use your same example its like a person from the socialist republic of Vietnam being called Vietnamese. United states of America is shortened to American. You can use the word american whatever way you want and we will do the same. Thanks.

@@JULIANKGLASSER If you ask someone to name several countries in America, they will tell you that there are none, that is ignorance. No offense intended, it was not an attempt at a lesson, just a correction that no person in the USA will tell you, but everyone who lives in the American Continent is American, not just those from the USA.

Iʻm glad you are adjusting well in the US, I think that it is definitely dependent on your location. I recently visited Hawaiʻi and California and the food is defiantly much more expensive in those areas. I bought a top of the line new Ford Ranger here and it was a lot more inexpensive than equivalent models in the US, they also threw in free tinting. took care of the paperwork and one year free car insurance. Electricity and water is also a lot more inexpensive than the US, as well as medical costs. Wages are higher in the US but to me it wasn't worth it, stress. living pay check to pay check, worrying about paying for health care incase myself or my wife got sick, but everyone has their own opinion and there really is no right answer that covers every situation.
@JULIANKGLASSER Жыл бұрын
Thank you for sharing your thoughts Keanu. Water in Thailand is very cheap, I guess it depends on where you live and lifestyle. The stress is definitely true, less stressful in Thailand.
