Don't you remember the part where he says in mark 11:26 if you do not forgive neither will your father in heaven will forgive you for your wrongdoing.so its saying forgive each other like forgiving someone for stealing or lying to you not in the spiritual sense,it wouldn't make sense for a fellow sinner to forgive all your sins who needed another person to forgive him and so on and so on and no one is perfect for all men fall short to the glory of God.and in 1john 1:9 it says "if we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive is of our sins and to cleanse us all from our sins.also some priest were found to be stealers pedophiles etc.so read the bible,pray for guidance and wisdom also pray in Jesu's name focus on a relationship with God that's all you need confess your sin to God (through Jesus's name) and be a new creation that is all John 3:16 for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life also avoid idolatry don't think those statues are holy people don't pray to them that's one of the commandments also Jesus did not have long hair or was beautiful remember that

Daniel Avelar It is a simple as that Jesus gave the authority to forgive sins to his disciples and they gave other men the same authority. Jesus gave the apostles the keys to the kingdom. He said, whatever you bind is bound and whatever you loose is loosened. Doesn't this ring a bell somewhere?

Peter CarlsonThat verse john 20:23 yeah I saw it it was a suppose to mean the authority Jesus gave the apostles to pronounce what sins have been forgiven not to forgive sins they can't cause they are simply men only Jesus can forgive your sins its that simple confess to the creator and ask for forgiveness for only Jesus can cleanse you spirituality

First of all, all sins are serious because we violate the commands God gave us. Secondly, our sin is between ourselves and God. If we are sincere about wanting to repent or confess our sins, God knows our heart. He knows and hears our every thought and every deed. We certainly do not need to go to anyone to confess our sins. God is the only one a person needs to confess to. If you feel the need to apologize to another person for a wrongful deed, then by all means go to him or her and confess you sin to them, but a priest is not necessary for anything. Catholics have a way of diminishing the work Jesus Christ did when He died on the cross. Jesus paid our sin debt in full. If we confess our sin to God He will forgive us and save us from the wrath and punishment we have earned. Jesus Christ is the only one we need to confess our sins to. Period.

True or False You are mistaken there, “True or False” KZbin channel.You have very little knowledge of Jesus Christ, how He lived and how He established His Church.Even after He healed a leper Christ said,”Go show yourself to the priest” and then charged him to tell no one.Christ worked that miracle of healing.Confession was instituted by Christ Himself,and is a miracle of grace for Catholics and all that seek the true Church of God!

Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the veil , that is His body, and since we have a High Priest over the house of God, Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith......Do we still need to go to a priest? Jesus is our High Priest to God.

Why do I have to go through a priest for forgiveness? Why can't I pray to Jesus MYSELF and be forgiven? Why do I need a middleman? I do NOT need a middleman, but I just realized that this is what the Protestant Reformation was all about, being able to go to God yourself rather than needing a priest to do it for you.

It's not surprising you (and many, many others) have difficulty with this. When Jesus himself said "your sins are forgiven" to the paralytic in Matthew 9:2, the crowd was "struck with awe and glorified God who had given such authority to human beings" (Matthew 9:8). You are right that the power to forgive sin is only proper to God. But that's what's so amazing. Jesus, God incarnate, has entrusted that power to men--to priests, in particular--to dispense that forgiveness. We see this in Matthew 16:18 when Jesus entrusts the power of the keys to his Church through Peter, the "rock" on which Jesus would build that Church. That is what Christians understood for the first 1,500 years or so, and it's what faithful Catholics still understand today. Confession is an awesome gift, and we should make use of it! Yeah, it's awkward to go to confession. But it feels so good after the fact, to have such confidence of forgiveness. We need God's grace and mercy, and this is how he has chosen to dispense it.

@jsignal
@jsignal 4 жыл бұрын
@@wynnssecret8584 Yes, priests go to confession just like other Catholics. We can't go to confession to ourselves, though, so we have to find other priests. That can be difficult in more rural areas (such as North Dakota where I reside). Parishioners in the pews can go to confession almost every day if they wish. The priest, though, has to find another priest, which can be difficult because of distance and scheduling. But it's worth the effort to receive God's mercy. Pray for holy priests!

I am not a catholic and don't know any priest I can feel calm and safe enough about to define sins and confess asking forgiveness. One priest whom I told some bad thing to get his help to overcome it, stop, resulted not in forgiveness even, but more rejection of me, he didn't own my remorse and will to be freed from the sin. That made me feel worse and think it is no use trying if I don't get help and support, I might as well continue if I am already damaged forever. That is what severe long-term sleep -deprivation, lack of basic safety and -needs, social isolation/aloneliness in depression from long-term mistreatment can do to one. The spirit I can't rule, one doesn't function other than fragmentarily. Please reply and help me, dear priest.Thank you.

fjwisme,, Why do you think telling lies is a great video??.If the sacraments are the power that come from the body of Christ, Why do the Catholics do them??, As they ARE NOT the body of Christ.Nowhere in the New Testament dose confessing sins to a priest appear.Fr John has to twist the scriptures, because he knows there are no scriptures that say a priest can remit sins.The Catholic church take ONE out of context scriptures, Jn 20: 23, Twist it and build their false doctrine on it.What Jesus mean in Jn 20: 23, is, Every born again Christians, [NOT Catholics], can tell a repented person that their sins have been remitted . Jesus said in Lk 24: 47, It's when a person repents that their sins are forgiven, Also see 1 Jn 1: 9.,NOT when a person remits peoples sins, And NO WAY can a unregenerate sinful Catholic priest remit anyone's sins, Not ever with God working through them As they wrongly teach. And what's all this nonsense about Mary being "mediatrix of all graces"? .It's another Catholic lie.Read more Show less 2 Report spam or abuse

Dr Alan, the problem is that Catholics do not believe the bible to be the only go to for knowledge. To them Mary is far more important than what the Lord ever intended. As the bible says "Jesus ,mother and his brothers , Matt 12:46-50 and Mark 3:3 to which Catholics are told these are nephews not brothers as that really goes against the teaching they have from outside sources.

In these times, a better question is: Where can I find a validly ordained priest to confess my sins to? All of the sacraments were changed and it is doubtful the priests who have been ordained in the new right are actually priests, so when one confesses to a man dressed as a priest, but not validly ordained, are ones sins forgiven? Also, the Catholic Church has a "new" mass (small m). Is the Novus (latin for new) Ordo (latin for sect) church the one Archbishop Fulton Sheen spoke of. "“[Satan] will set up a counter church which will be the APE of the Catholic Church. . . . It will have all the notes and characteristics of the Church, but in reverse and emptied of its divine content.”

In it is also a prayer of protection from the new one world religion which does not come from Him. This Book of Truth was prophesied in (Daniel 10:21), "But I will tell thee what is set down in the scripture of truth: and none is my helper in all these things, but Michael your prince." (Daniel 12:4), "But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time appointed: many shall pass over, and knowledge shall be manifold." God bless!!! +++

I understand and agree that God desires to use the Church, to dispense His goodness. But why do we have to go to an "ordained Priest"? Are we not all members of a "Royal Priesthood" as Saint Paul has said? Do we not receive the Holy Spirit at Confirmation just as the Apostles did at Pentacost? It seems to me that the Churches current understanding on the dispensation of God's forgiveness is limited. What happens when you're stuck on a deserted island with another Chrisitian but no Priest? Thank you in advance for you' patience with my questions. I truly desire to understand our beautiful Faith. Blessings!

@patrioticacorn
@patrioticacorn 4 жыл бұрын
Because the apostles wouldn’t be staying in that city forever. His heart wasn’t right before God so it would take time for him to change his ways so if he did change his ways and if the apostles were not there to absolve his sins he was told to cry out to God and seek forgiveness “if possible” meaning completely depending on God’s mercy to forgive him directly not through the sacrament of reconciliation. He even asks the apostles to pray for him and intercede to God because he knew that their hearts were right before God and that he listened to their prayers.

Proud and blessed to be a Catholic! After baptism though we are always beloved children of God - in the judicial sense, but serious sins will severe our relationship and fellowship with God, therefore we must seek and receive forgiveness from God through the sacrament. After baptism it is all about keeping up to our relationship with God." Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed-not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence-continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose. The woman with the issue of blood had nothing to do with sin! This had to do with the purification rites of the Jewish faith. The Book of Leviticus explains this. Blood in the Jewish faith, has to do with either life or death. Blood had the ability to give life, but if it wasn’t associated with life, it was associated with death. It purified, yet defiled at the same time. A woman had to wash in a ceremonial bathhouse called a “miqvah” every month for the purification of her body. If she didn’t, she was not clean, therefore no one could touch her without becoming unclean as well. The same was true if someone came in contact with a dead body...you needed to wash, or you became unclean. This had absolutely nothing to do with sin & everything to do with the healing of Christ. So I am not understanding the point of this video. The woman touched the hem of Jesus garment, His tallit, or prayer shawl, & was healed. This woman had not been touched for 12yrs! She reached out & touched the fringe of His tallit & she had faith enough to believe that she was healed. Beautiful Truth! Not confessing anything to a priest since this was not about anyone’s sin.

PLEASE STOP !! forgiving sins does both, it also heal your soul. Are you guys with so big ego that you would go to such extent to disprove the CC. it's quit pathetic. Stop misleading souls by cherry picking the bible because you don't want to hear the truth. The Catholic Church is the only true Church because Christ founded it, nothing else. How can you claim to love Jesus and reject his Church, Body and Blood and his Mother? Please God wants you in Heaven, turn down pride and come to Mercy. Christ's church is simply going through what he has gone through, false accusations. You see the perfect truth and call it a lie just as they saw a perfect man and accused him of lies. We have a God love and a God of endurance, Jesus knows where he is taking his Church, those who endure with him until the end will be like him in glory . The incorrupted bodies of some of our priests and nuns prove to me that the CC has GOD's stamp of approval. Come home to the fullness of the truth.

No it is not biblical. Read your bible yourself... Funny story, a few days ago I asked a nun what must I do to be saved and get to heaven just to see her answer. She said all I have to do is be good, and do good works. I said oh really, what if I'm a muslim and dont believe in Jesus can I still go to heaven. She said yes. I quickly asked the Holy Spirit in my mind what I should respond to her. So I revealed to her that I was actually a former catholic and why i left. I mentioned John 14:6 to her, that jesus is the way the truth and the life, and is the only way to heaven. I also told her the bible says, he who hath the son hath life he who hath not the son hath not life. She heard what I said but ignored it, and said "it's not about Jesus". We talked more and ended on a good note, but my point was to show her how far removed catholics have become from the simple gospel. ITS ALL ABOUT JESUS! Jesus died for our sins so that we can go to heaven. We have to believe on him. Praise the Lord

For big sins? No! All sin is equal! All sins can be forgiven! We just need to call on God for his forgiveness! Thats why there is repentance! We will burn in hell for our sin thats why we must have true repentance which mean ask God for forgiveness and turn away from our sin! And think of the 10 commandments theres a 10 length chain your holding on to the end, doesn't matter which of the commandments you break in that chain if one breaks you will fall. Sin is sin! Matthew 23:9 King James Version (KJV) 9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. In John 14:6 Jesus says, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Catholic priest do believe in the New Testament and it is all the prophecies of the old testaments coming true. But they stay in the old testament. Im only telling everyone because it is the truth through the living word The Gospel. God bless you all!. Remember Hosea 4:6 New King James Version 6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. God says those who love him are the ones who keep his commandments, he commanded the apostles to do the last supper (mass) in memory of him. Even going as far as saying those who don’t eat his flesh and drink his blood have no life in them. So with that said, why would anyone trust the personal opinion of a Protestant who doesn’t love God and has no life in them?

Exodus 6:23 Aaron (Priest) took to himself Elisheba, daughter of Amminadab, sister of Nahshon, as wife; and she bore him Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar. Aaron was a prophet, high priest, and the elder brother of Moses in the Abrahamic religions. Knowledge of Aaron, along with his brother Moses, comes exclusively from religious texts, such as the Bible Exodus 6:25 Eleazar, (Priest) Aaron’s son, took for himself one of the daughters of Putiel as wife; and she bore him Phinehas. These are the heads of the fathers’ houses of the Levites according to their families. Priests were married and had children, how is it that the Catholic church has the gall to change the Word of God? I guess you catholics know better than God who created the universe and people. I'd like to see you explain yourself out of that one LOL. 1 Timothy 4:3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. Guess you'll have to talk to your priest for an explanation.

The verses you provided are from the Old Testament. Catholic complied the bible, they were given authority from Christ himself to teach. That includes interpreting scripture which was revealed to them by God.
