I’m glad to see the journey. It takes courage to put yourself out there and be honest about your knowledge gaps. Keep it going. I know you’ve moved on to a new car now but just wanted to share that you help inspire me to get a Z3. Same color inside and outside. 3.0 engine. Auto.

I’m glad to hear that. I hope you got a good one. I think if I ever bought another Z3, it’d be that spec exactly but with a manual. Congrats man, you’re gonna love it

Am glad you're keeping your Z3 I like everything you shared about it the ones that don't get it because they don't know what it's like to drive one no matter what kind of problems they may have it could be fixed and so much fun to drive with the top down I love my Z3 yr 2000 5-speed and I won't give it up either I have another car for a daily driver but if I can drive this as my daily driver I would but every chance I get I do drive it keep up with your good videos I like watching them all.

Do not sell the Z3 for a Miata. The reason being that you're not going to find a Miata outside of the newer models that haven't been abused and clapped out. Miatas are often the first car for a car guy and they will do anything and everything to that car and a lot of times they go as cheap as possible on their modifications and it's just something you do not want to get into. The Z3 is also a great first car because of how easy it is to work on. You just need to not be scared to try learning how to work on it yourself. All cars break down and all cars are expensive to fix. If you go to a mechanic that's reality. Paying for the convenience and the skill set of another person versus doing it yourself on the low. And I hear what you're saying about safety. I gets nervous with my Z3 which is why I don't drive on the freeway with it. However, you can be in the top rated safety vehicle of the year and still die in a car crash. I daily drive my Z3 and I enjoy it. I get plenty of comments from people at work because the car is unique. Enjoy the car and learn from it so that way you can gain the skill set you'll need for your next car. Don't waste your chance to learn how to fix a car with such a easy to work on car because your newer cars you're not going to want to fix yourself. Trust me.

My daily driven 220,000 plus mile 97 1.9L M44 Z3 with the manual transmission has been highway driven it's whole life and never ever been driven off road one time throughout the last 27 years. It's always been driven on normal smooth roads on the highway in MA and RI and still running strong. A lot of old German cars overall are solid reliable daily or highway drivers and that's what they're truly made for. I also do most of the work myself. Plus with these 1.9L M44 engines made in Austria were the last inline engines to have metal valve covers, metal intake manifolds, less plastics under the hood, and last but not least no Vanos timing to worry about.

Glad to hear the car is doing you well. How is it driving it up there? My car started life somewhere around the NY/NJ area so it’s lived a bit in the north but I’ve always been in the south with it. I get what you mean with the older german cars being reliable but, I feel like, cause of their age, the previous owner’s maintenance then comes into question too and what they do can impact your experience. I wanted the 4 cyl over the 6 for the main thing of no VANOS (…that and the fact that it uses 89 over 91 or 93)

Hi I think you need rear wheel spacers for the wide body fenders to fill the back out . Good job on the videos .

Thank you. I’ve thought about getting spacers but worry about how it affects the dynamics of the car and all that. I haven’t done too much research on that so I’m not too sure yet
