As a swede I have to say that another factor to why career is hard in Sweden is that Sweden is a small country and therefor very stale. People stay in their positions for a LONG time, not giving new people that many shots on trying to advance. And yes, just to underline what you already say, if you don't master swedish, it's pretty much impossible to grow in a swedish company.
