I have the Karoo 4 on the Tuareg and they are great. Windscreen was an issue too. Bought the IRS from Italy, standard height but wider towards the bottom. Made a big difference, no more turbulence and on longer trips the upper body and legs are wind protected. Factory Hand guards are rubbish too. Dropped the bike on the first ride off road, had to turn it around whilst still on the ground. Handguard broke, so did the brake leaver. Was a fun ride home... Got Acerbis - all good now. Great videos BTW 😁

I have had Dunlop Trailmax Raid tyres fitted to my little BMW G310GS and found them to be great in all conditions.

Dunlop TrailMax Raid, Heidenau K60 Ranger, Tusk 2Track from Rocky Mountain ATV: I am personally running these currently; off-road is exceptional and on road is quite good, MOTOZ TIRES are, in my opinion, the best adv tires. They make a DUAL VENTURE front tire that can be reversed. You can choose between the Tractionator Adventure Tire or the Tractionator Rallz tire. The later being the more aggressive off-road rear tire.

I have the tuareg too, 14000km. I like it a lot too. But if I have to be neat picky, I’d say : - wind protection ; depending on your height, you may need a taller windscreen or a deflector (deflector in my case for 175cm) - seat confort ; it’s good, but after a long day, my ass starts to hurt. I think I’ll be looking for a confort seat (or accessory that will do that job) - good suspension but you need to set them up properly (harder imho). I love the sound too, but I’m thinking of changing the exhaust (while keeping the cata because I don’t want to bother people). I have the ax41 tires. They are really good on road. Off-road they perform quite good too for 50/50 tires. I do more road that off-road, so I might change tires for something a little more road oriented while being off-road ready. The stock tires (rally STR) were really good imo, but I want to try something else. Cheers.

- screen, I changed to a tall one, then changed back again because I hate looking through it at the trail or the road - seat, I understand! - suspension, I've not had any problems at all. Very adjustable, can work on road and off road at my speeds (so far!)

I've found the STR tyres to be pretty awful off-road but pretty good on-road. It's odd because they look as if they'll be decent off-road. The lateral grip seems to be the problem, which makes sense when you study the tread. I'd be tempted to try the Dunlop Trailmax Raids.

Can't see if you have posted anything further about your tyre choice but on the similar XL750 I have tried Bridgestone AX 41 ( good and predictable on and excellent off road ) and more recently Dunlop Trailmax Raid ( excellent road and surprisingly good off road). If you like the Pirelli STR on road but not off the TrailMax Raid might be the best pick as a perfect compromise tyre. The AX41 provides a little bit more bite off road and is very feelsome on road but you find you might get a bit too much traction control intervention on road in the wet.
