I cannot conceive how those original puppets came to be. Did nobody, nobody in the designing or creation or rehearsal process think, “hey guys, maybe we should change something up here, cause this looks a bit wrong?” I mean come on. How did that get approved by so many creatives before it got to stage?

Has putting words like ‘triggered’ into shows ever not been cringey? I genuinely can’t think of a time it’s not come across as a ‘how do you do fellow kids?’ moment Also this made me remember how I’ll never forgive Bedknobs and Broomsticks for that ending twist. Genuinely left the theatre feeling like I’d been emotionally robbed for the sake of recreating the bittersweetess of Mary Poppins.

Same i'm working very hard to repress that ending so I can go back to enjoying the film version. I hate that sort of ending anyway in other media somehow it was even worse watching it live.

In the book, the two lead Dalmatians are Pongo and Missis. Perdita is another Dalmatian the Dearlys adopt to help feed the puppies.

This show far exceeded my expectations , unfortunately they were very low to begin with ! I’d give it a 3 stars but it’s completely inoffensive and the puppetry I do believe was excellent

Generic was exactly the word I used to describe the music, and I thought the lyrics and book were some of the worst I’d ever heard in a show. The issue for me though is that it felt tonally confused, because the simplicity of the script and extravagance of the visual elements very much will appeal to younger kids, but then they go into some quite graphic detail in their description of murdering and skinning the puppies. For me it just felt like bad panto

Interesting you felt it had a pantomime atmosphere! As a young teen I was a cast member in my local panto written by, directed and starring Johnny McKnight!

Not sure what to expect about this show, but the photos look great and I missed it near me. I would have loved to go and support one of the ensemble members I was at University with and worked with once and she was phenomenal and I'm over the moon she is touring and doing so well!

I wasn't a fan of the adaptation side either. In particular that joke about Peta, it makes them look like heroes, anything but. But the songs, while yes, derivative, were nice. The Puppetry was the star!

I saw this production in Norwich and wasn’t expecting any thing from it - I was pleasantly surprised!. On the other hand I saw both Heathers and Bonnie & Clyde here and thought they were both bland and uninteresting. Does this mean I know nothing - Bonnie & Clyde didn’t finish their tour and when I saw Heathers the theatre was only half full.

I find it hard to believe that Heathers is somehow more bland and uninteresting than a 101 Dalmations adaptation 😂 perhaps that particular cast was lacking something
