Do Inside Out 2 & Turning Red Take Place In The Same Universe?
The premiere of Inside Out 2 has added another successful film to the Pixar and Disney roster. Many fans have waited years to see what was next for Riley and her emotions. The sequel tells a compelling story about growing up, encountering changes, and learning to accept parts of oneself that may seem unlikeable on the surface. The film contains many themes and lessons, such as the previously released Turning Red. The similarities don’t stop there, however, and in today’s video, we’ll discuss how the two films could coexist in the same universe.

Something I'm curious about is that if Inside out and Turning Red do truly take place in the same universe, do Mei's emotions turn into little pandas when she becomes a red panda? And if ALL Pixar films are connected, it's fun to picture the endless possiblites on what was going on in all the characters heads during their movies. Do toys in Toy Story get their own little toy emotions?! My brain can litterally spend forever on this

Both Inside Out and Turning Red exist in the same universe. This can be assumed because in episode 3 of the new show Dream Productions, Riley is shown wearing a 4 Town shirt, and in the dream the 4 Town song comes on!

This wouldn’t make sense because the inside out 1 would have to be in 2000. Mei mei is 13 but in 2002 as seen on the calendar when mei mei’s mom is telling her the panda won’t last forever. I think inside out 1 is placed in 2015 hence the fact it released in 2015 and inside out 2 being placed in 2016-17 because Riley is 13. This is just a conspiracy.
