Fred Gwynne played Herman Munster. He was 6'6 and 380 lbs. they put padding on his costume and he wore platform shoes that made him an actual 7 foot monster. Very Cool. He Actually was that Big. If you watch him next to the other actors you can really see it. Loved that show. It was Fun. Grandpa was 6 feet tall.

The only downside of the TV show "The Munsters" is that it only has 2 seasons. I wish they had made at least 5 more seasons. It is a very clean and funny show without any profanity.

Every single one of the actors that played each of these wonderful characters proved irreplaceable, even Marilyn that ultimately was played by three actresses, though, Pat Priest will forever be remember for the character. None of the revamped trials to the original series were successful. I do not think they ever will.

@aschule5684 lol...yeah both shows were a tongue in cheek poke at the horror genre. Looking back Adam's Family was a little more sarcastic and heady, Munsters was more slapstick. But I'm just a more slapstick kinda guy. Will Farrell is my favorite actor of all time ...lol. I thought the guy Rob Zombie was gonna do a Munsters movie but I'm not sure. Peace!!!
