I would just use a pvc flow valve for water control, that’s what I use on my cleanup sluice and my bluebowl. Nice video though! 👍

Or a speed controller from Harbor Freight, I have 2 from there. A foot pedal control and a dial controller, you could hook that up to the pump

These are my favorite videos period. I love builds like this because it gives me hope that I can do it too. Ive only been out to the river twice so far ever to pan but plan on going a lot more this summer. Anyways thanks for the awesome content and I hope to see more builds like this, maybe a larger sluice for river use, in the future.

Good to see ya man, been a minute. Get that voltage regulated and it will run good. Instead of using a battery, I bought a ac/dc converter and glad I did. Just made sure it was rated at a higher amperage than my pump. Peace 🤘⛏🇺🇸

I use a laptop powe supply from thrift store when at home and add a small piece of dollar tree carpet ti the top of the sluice to buffer the water like a hibanker baffle looks good 😎 👍

Just came across your channel, subscribed in the first 30secs, and I'm watching all your stuff now... Keeping in line with "(y)our style of doing stuff", lol, to better help control the water flow, you don't wanna mess with voltage inputs or restricting the water, both will strain the pump and/or pump motor... Instead, just put in a constant flow bypass (like sprint car fuel systems) by adding in either a "T" or "Y" to the water hose just past the pump, one to the sluice and the other back into the water tub... whatever you have that's easier and cheaper to adapt in to whatever you have as far as a hose bib/shutoff valve (i just used an old washing machine "Y" hose run backwards to a hose bib on a new miller table I built)... PVC ball valves are cheap, but are a pain to get adjusted... I suggest using either the cheap garden hose bibs, they seem to work best as far as adjusting or even the quarter turn toilet valves, but they can be a bear to adapt to from the junk pile... or if you have barbed fittings laying around, you can use the $3-$5 irrigation shutoff valves found at Home Depot, Lowes, etc... also, harbor freight's 264gph fountain pump ($20 on sale) comes with a bypass valve, so does the 640gph I think... ANYWAY, voltage says constant so the motor is happy and the water is flowing free so the pump stays happy and you can control the water flow so you stay happy 😊😊 As for power supply, an old laptop, router, lcd, etc power adapter/supply are great power sources at home... For a 12v pump stay in the 12v-13.6v range and you want more amps than the pump requires... I'm pretty sure we have the same amazon bilge pump, mine is 12v/3a, only $16... Anyway, you can grab a new 12v/10a power adapter on ebay or amazon for ~$13 or an even an old power supply from a desktop PC should have a plug putting out around 12v/25a... I like the simplicity of your clamp to hold the hose on the top, I just can't help myself with trying to over complicate that... lol sorry i rambled, keep up the good work and thanks for sharing...

A little bit of carpet upside down at the top so the water slows down and equals out. Run it an inch or so over the start of the v mat

How did you slow down the flow on the water? I have the same pump but it's way too much water coming out. I thought maybe a to fitted on the pipe but it won't reduce the flow of water from the pump so would probably blow the pipe off?

Brother if you have a way to warm up battery prior it won't surge on ya....battery is essentially warming itself by working and then surging voltage during this cycle
