For example, if a celebrity or athlete cheats on their partner, they are forced to apologize in front of the cameras, and it is covered in the news every day. I’m Japanese living in Canada. Japanese are not popular at all. Foreign girls are not interested in Japanese. Because there is an image that Japanese boys are shy, quiet, conservative and boring. Every female friend said that kind of things when I asked them first impressions of me when I said I am Japanese. And I feel it’s kind of true considering Japanese people in my school. So, do not think that they have a chance to get Japanese boy, they are not interested in you at all. You make a move first if you are interested in foreign girls. Do not afraid of taking a shot! But the real question is do foreign girls want to date Japanese boys? My personal answer would be that I'm not opposed to the idea if I found someone I got on well with, but most likely no. Because men (of all cultures) seem to have such a hard time being normal about foreign women (of any race/culture). Dating is already hard enough in your own country, adding language barriers and that weird fetishism on top... just no.

I think if a foreign woman is serious about moving to Japan for job or character evolution or whatever reason, she may more than likely consider dating and marrying a Japanese man because she's going to be there permanently, not on Visa. There is a KZbin channel called Rachel and Jun of a foreigner/Japanese married couple. Foreign women who live in a country date within that country.

What you say is very true. Even amongst Westerners, there can be a very "fetishist" side to it. I'm a French female, and holy, the amount of guys who are attracted to me solely because of my French accent is crazy... It's honestly very awkward. Some darker skinned men have also shown fetichism for the whiteness of my skin. Of course, everybody can have something that they particularly like, but some people really take it too far and turn it into a fetish.
