What im curious is the view on cheating culture in Korea vs Japan. In Japan I keep hearing its widely accepted by men and women and not even seen as cheating. But I wonder about Koreas view on it.

I think that both genders have equal tendencies and desires to cheat. I think the idea of staying monogamous forever is a moral decision that each individual either takes or not, but it is not given to us by instinct. But since 99% of cultures in the world have been patriarchal (because men are phisically stronger than women), of course they forced the culture to be the way it serves them better: men can cheat, women absolutely cannot. For example. in Muslim countries back in the day a cheater woman would be literally stoned, while men could have multiple wives. They covered it with religion and integrated very deep into their culture. If women were phisically stronger, I personally believe we would have a similar world, just with women privilege and dominance instead. I think men and women have similar desire for power and control and are equally egoistic. But where I live, in Western Europe, thank god some women stood up against the patriarchy, which is why I think more men are faithful these days. While on the other hand, the percentage of cheaters changed from 99% men to practically 50/50. Because like I said, I do think that humans are naturalyl *serial* monogamists, which means on a hormonal level we feel sexually/romantically attracted to our partners for a few years, and then we "move on". (ofc there are exceptions, but from what I see in the world, usually married couples become more like siblings) So only the people with strongest moral codes and moral values do stay faithful all life to 1 person. Yeah, it's pretty sad, but that's just what I am objectively observing in the world without being judgemental.

Cheating per se is never a cultural thing. It will always depend on the person, and maybe to some extent on how he and his girlfriend take care of their relationship and how much hard work and importance they put into it.

Let's clear up one thing here: The last guy that said "Men are born that way" also said, "We look at beautiful girls on the street". His "cheating" bar is pretty low, to begin with.😂 And if he considers looking at other girls cheating, then he's right, men get more attracted by visuals than women. That's why they follow hundreds of models on Instagram because just the look of the woman is enough for them to get sexually attracted, whereas most women must know a thing or two about the guy and like something about their personality in order to find them attractive. That's a gender difference. I really don't think he'd say yes if they asked specifically about having sex with others without telling your partner about it. Also, cheating is still not clearly defined and, as we can see in the last example, it differs from person to person.

there is a proliferation of massage parlours, brothels,...basically almost block there is some prostitution establishment in Korea. It's very common for Korean men to go to brothels as it's a cultural thing. I've had many korean guy friends who think it's perfectly normal thing to do. Obviously that's considered cheating.. And Korean women are pretty but they also have a hard life due to the male dominated culture and some unfortunately due to debt etc have to resort to prostitution to survive.

Although chances of survival among the many will be reduced due to the lack of the protection offered by the male entity, a small percentage will survive and continue the reproductive cycle. (this is the minority) Of course this isn't to say that women don't cheat too. in general women only cheat if they feel the guy (protector/provider) in one way or another doesn't provide her with the security that she needs. From a biological standpoint, it's basically trying out other potential mates before abandoning the current one that does not meet required standards in fulfilling its supposed role. For people, standards can be manipulated by culture and so the reasons to cheat also constantly evolve, for man and woman. These are the basic biological theories on propagation and being conscious of these types of 'instinctive' behavior should allow for people to overcome their instinctive desires, as our more executive brain functions can essentially override them. ( similar to when your on a diet and you having not eaten properly for 2 days and now starving, your body urges you to find food. But if you have the will power, you can overcome the urges and choose not to) For as long as history has been recorded, infidelity has existed. There are very profound reasons for things like these and they will continue to occur long after we are dead. But of course this is not an excuse, just merely a rough explanation as to why it happens. And if you're a guy reading this. DON'T CHEAT. IT'S NOT WORTH THE TROUBLE.
