Honestly asking someone to court them is a sign of being respectful cos when you court a girl w/o her permission you might annoy them i might also look like a stalker or something so they have to ask those questions to make sure she's fine with it i agree with you it's hard to respond since you dont wanna hurt someone anyways if he do that courting w/o asking permission he'll get the answer in the end so there's no difference 😂 and Cj's experience is quiet weird for me probably due to i wasnt born in this generation way back then the guy should make a move first but again there's nothing wrong if the girl make a move cos life is too short if you like someone just tell them 👍

I usually only fling or date a girl that i meet at a bar or house party. preferably with a friend's friend. I tend to just make a good starter conversation with her and if i read the room right, then i ask her to be somewhere less crowded with me and have another conversation and see what develops from there. With foreigners. i just straight up checks up on her. Maybe a little smile or nod in her direction. If she checks out on you too then it's probably a good time to ask her to share a drink with you and hopefully it's a fun night.

If a guy asks you "can i cpurt you?", the safest answer is "it's up to you". That way, you have the option to get to know him better without setting any expectations, just tell him where he stands at that moment (e.g. i don't know you enough to reciprocate your feelings at this point in time). The downside of courtship is the guy will always show his best foot forward, and Filipino guys can be really romantic. What you see Oppas in Kdramas do is quite common acts for Filipino guys who are courting. You are very lucky the guy verbally confirmed his intentions, it means he was quite serious. Most Filipino guys will just start doing nice things for you, and it will be up to you to figure things out. You will know if a Filipino guy os REALLY serious if he knocks on your door to court you at your home ("umaakyat ng ligaw" in Filipino) because he is making it known to your family he is romantically interested in you. The ultimate act of Filipino courtship is "Harana" (serenade) and "Paninilbihan"(servitude; guy would run errands for the girl's whole family).

Yeah but the paninilbihan I think is too old school na po serenade still possible yeah if someone asks you to court you, especially a guy or men like me you should say it's up to yourself without setting any expectations because sometimes the other ladies' expectation is too high that we can not reach so we stop to ask even that girl like us that we can feel it sometimes base on there showing attitude toward us but if we know already her expectation is high so some of us guys or men's we will change our minds stop asking and some of the ladies or gentlemen them saying yes or no without knowing the person first then when they don't meet there the expectation that person eventually heartbroken by her or him all this is multi-gender all gender include even I did not put the other gender here

When you talk about girls also are somewhat courting or taking care of their partner, what i think was the naturality of our identity of what we are as a filipino cuz getting back in pre-colonial era women and men are equal, women can do what men can do and there's no roles about what women or men must do/be and there's no discrimination/judgement against each others gender. Women courting nowadays are becoming common, perhaps it already did. From what i observe nowadays we're getting back on what we are before, dispite of spain drastically change our culture, schools never thought our pre-colonial culture about gender roles but it getting back naturally.

These is facts to I agree but asking if you court her or him because ladies now is courting guys also and same-sex lgbt right is a safe way did After introducing your self your doing already this courtship stuff without asking the person if you can court him or her or any gender without setting expectation and suppose that should that person you want to court do not expect a lot from you because people are not the same they tend to look the same because of the situation

I'm simping on Rumy 😊❤️ But remember, Oppa in KDrama doesn't exist. The same thing as a perfect boyfriend to Filipinos. Jin should've said, "Do what you want". Btw saying Yes to "Can I court you?" doesn't mean you're on a relationship. It's just a formal way to express their emotion. During that period (courting) they'll do things like what Jin mentioned what it's like in Canada. Usually that time they'll eventually ask if you can be his girlfriend. you can just say "NO" or "Stop courting me" if you still doesn't like the person after the courting phase. Don't feel sorry about them being rejected, that's part of life.

Girls, just an unsolicited advice. Boys who want to court you should not court you just in schools and in the streets. They should come court you at your place and ask permission, say hello and introduce himself to your parents/guardians. A young man who asks/borrow money from you are assholes. Do not trust them. They should not ask ANYTHING from you. Courtship is done in the house not somewhere else girls🙂. There are still young men there with pure intentions. You will know it. The reason why Filipinos asking firsr to court a girl is that Filipinos were always used to think how to respect. They dont want to take any advantages towards the one they adore. Thats why theres a shy-type courting because they doesnt want to ruin any friendship if necessary. When they love, theres always a respect that follows.
