I could be wrong and im not trying to offend but why do some of the filipinos specifically FILIPINAS sound like they have an indian accent. Similar to that of the singer TYLA (who has black african and indian heritage). Is indian culture parallel or embedded within filipino culture. Do filipino and indian culutre cross paths at some point. I also see a few indian ppl in the comments. But i noticed the filipino accent sounds similar to indians before i read the comment section. As a Korean Canadian I was very upset watching that video from Tzuyyang because my besties are Filipinos. I told this incident to my dad and he wasnt very happy to hear once again Korean people mocking / thinking SouthEast Asian people are "Lower" than they are. There are older/newer generations who doesnt think like that. Please know that not everyone thinks like that and treats like that. My dad said "Most Koreans have forgotten the reason why we are able to live a peaceful life is because of those soldiers coming to the strange place fighting for freedom for strange people and helping those people to win the war. We cannot act like that to the ones who helped us when we were poor. We cannot forget our history because once you forget your history its going to repeat again and again because we humans make the same mistakes over and over." I know that my apologies dont mean anything but I am really sorry and I wish people arent like that in Korea. I mean... Koreans do that one another. i just want to raise this as no one mentioned this in the interviews: it's how the language was portrayed and acted upon by anyone around it. if you watched all the Filipino videos speaking Tagalog in Korean accent, you can see that most of the people's reaction is amazement on how it was achieved since we like the language yet when it was Koreans trying to speak Tagalog, it is more on "mockery" and made fun of. we can't really wash our hands in this matter since Filipinos are also racist against our own so if we encounter these kind of videos, there's always an option of just ignoring it rather than fueling it with nasty comments. let's not ruin our relationship with other countries just because there are some citizens who mocks other nationalities. let's all practice what Pablo of SB19 said: ALWAYS CHOOSE TO BE KIND.

Clearly, these racist Koeans haven't talked to these smart kids. Filipinos, specially the educated young generation, are smart enough to understand that there's racism. Even Kpop and Kdrama fans are aware of this, it is just that they're fans of the art and the artists rather than the general Korean population. I remember I talked to a group of young Korean university male students who came here to tour - one of the reasons why they chose Philippines to travel first is not just beacuse of its cheap price and beautiful beaches, they were confident that they can hook up with girls easily - they were laughing by saying Filipina women "worship" Koreans no matter how they look like as long as they're Koreans. I actually regret hanging out with those guys. That's how low they think of Filipina women, and Philippines in general. So they think if they mock the accent (which by the way they come here to learn English), or tastes of local food, they get a pass. Anyhow, this does not apply to all Koreans or Filipinos. The Koreans who have met or become close to Filipinos tend to be kinder, more accepting and open-minded. However, most Korean friends I have had pre-determined "negative" stereotypes of Filipinos in general. So, thank you EL, for having this video. This is my favorite El's Planet video so far. As a matter of fact, yung latest move nila na magpapasok ng mga domestic helpers exclusively for filipinos, alam mo bang nakakainsulto yun?

All I did was ask "Don't Filipinos also mock or imitate the Korean accent?" Sa apat na babae ko lang po 'yon tinanong kasi in the full uncut interview, palagi nilang na-memention yung pag-mock ng Filipino accent ng Koreans (and last interviewees sila that day) so it was a natural response from me, and it was unplanned as well. If we base it on the definition, yung act na pag-gaya tapos the fact na alam natin tinatawanan siya is also "mocking" kahit walang racism involved. As mentioned in the video as well, the Korean cosplayer was definitely racist, and it's the fault of the Mukbanger for bringing her on her KZbin channel. I quite agree to an extent na masyadong negative yung portrayal ng media nila sa Pilipinas. But knowing Koreans myself, I believe it's similar to how Filipino (and Western) media portrays the Middle East. Lumaki po ako sa Bahrain, at UAE, and pag balik ko sa Pilipinas, I did get several questions that shocked me. Kung safe ba daw, kung naka-camel kami papuntang school, and the most shocking for me kung 'di raw ako natatakot sa mga Arabo. And when I ask why, it's because of obvious reasons. When in fact the Middle East (Especially the GCC/MENA Area) is in fact a very well-developed region of the world. The UAE itself is one of the safest countries with two of the safest cities (Abu Dhabi, and Dubai). Of course totoo na may mga OFW sa Middle East na minamaltrato ng mga amo, kinukuhanan ng passport, at hindi binabayaran ng maayos, of course mas mababa sahod ng mga Pinoy sa middle east vs sa mga Local at Westerners kahit same position lang (Also did you know na hina-hire sa Middle East ma-hire yung mga K-12 vs K-10 graduates?), and of course radical muslim terrorists do exist in certain Middle Eastern countries, but it does not define the whole of the Middle East; just as the negative media portrayal of Philippines in South Korea does not our country. In my opinion, mas nae-exacerbate pa nga masyado since many Filipinos think positively of South Korea, and parang hindi pa nare-reciprocate. But this is why I do videos with Koreans that defy their expectations of what they think the Philippines is (A good example yung last video ko po!). Those who come and experience the Philippines more often than not open new perspectives on what a country is and how their people are. But I do agree that there are Koreans who mistreat their Filipino workers, and I do not condone those. Pero yung mga nafeature ko sa video are students who have never met such people. If I showed you the full interviews, I tried my best extracting from them the possible negatives done by Koreans in the Philippines since I really wanted to make sure this was a fair video. pero wala po talaga silang masabi based on their personal experience, and hindi rin nila kayang magsalita on other peoples behalf since hindi naman sila yung may karapatan para i-share yung story na 'yon. For your last point, I'm not sure kung sila yung mga foreigners with the highest crime rates in the Philippines, might have to research that myself. Pero ang layunin lang naman po nung video ay para magbigay daan para sa ganitong klaseng diskusyon/diskurso! Kaya't masaya ako na naibahagi mo yung mga thoughts at opinions mo in a respectful manner. 💜 As always, spread the love, and God bless po!

Just my opinion. Every country in the world has the tendency to be racist. Even the "nicest" countries have racists. Even us Filipinos are also sometimes racists. We just don't realize it. As a South Korean, I never thought to look down on any kind of race. I wasn’t even taught to be fair to all the races, it just came to me after I saw how kind everyone was towards each other disregarding of race. Now that might be the case because I lived in America for the majority of my life but even if I did live in South Korea for a long time, I just had the mentality that a race is a huge group of people, never one specific person who’s bad but never a specific person who’s good. So instead of looking at the negative side, I decided it was best to be kind to everyone and let the heart of a person decide whether I like them or not, not their race.

Everyone has crap to say about everyone else in this world. Racism and ignorance are ever present wherever you go. The issue is that we Filipinos value the world’s opinions and perceptions too much. Maybe it’s our colonial past, but we constantly seek approval and recognition from foreigners. So much so that a lot of times we value their opinions of us more than our own opinions of ourselves. We make it a mission to show the world that we are the kindest, happiest, most hospitable etc. When in reality, we are no less ignorant and judgmental as the rest of the world. Just take their comments with a grain of salt and recognize how absurd it is to expect respect. Being offended is a natural reaction, but it ultimately leads to nothing. Everyone can have an opinion about you, you could either agree and improve on yourself or disagree and reinforce your beliefs. Either way, it’s constructive.

there's a difference between mocking an accent full of malice, and imitating an accent in good fun. I think what we need to learn, is that when one person of a particular heritage disparage filipinos as a whole, that we don't have to do the same thing and generalize his/her heritage. We need to isolate the person speaking as himself, and his opinions.

I agree! Most people in SEA tend to compare their appearance with East Asians. It’s kinda sad how people are discriminated by their appearance and the country they’re from (specifically if they’re from underdeveloped countries (yet being proud of where you’re originally from is truly something that cannot be exchanged) but however, not everyone is involved in. There’s still nice people around! Even in my country (Myanmar - formerly Burma), there’s still racism/criticism which is a common issue specifically on online lately. The discrimination towards skin colours are one of the common issues around here as well. Due to the excessive heat and sunlight all across SEA, most typical individual’s skin colour gradually goes burnt/dark, yet they received negative criticism for that. I, myself have never experienced that but I’ve seen some people getting attacked online/irl. From my perspective, most Asians in reality don’t show obvious racism unlike Western people. (at least what I’ve seen on the internet and I might be wrong!) But we’re able to figure out if one’s criticising others by witnessing at their glare, facial expressions, and through gossiping. (Criticising doesn’t always mean something bad tho!) I’ve seen a video about how the majority of Filipinos are affected by creams which believed to whiten their skin colours but instead leading to dangers in life. Things could’ve gone even worsen, honestly. I have Filipino friends as well as seen Filipinos foreigners in my area. Truth be told, I couldn’t even distinguish as if they’re from here until they disclose themselves. (We SEAs have identical appearances) I adore my neighbouring countries regardless of ongoing conflicts and disputations going around online which I’m not fond of at all, alongside policial issues as well. Honestly, no country/people is safe from racism. If you’re a true human being, you will at least have done criticising someone by looking at their appearance, and that’s a common thing! (I admit I have done as well) The only difference would be if propaganda is spread across the world about a country, people mostly would see the negative side of it and no longer accepting the truth. One apparent example would be China. People might’ve gone negative due to politics but in reality, ordinary citizens living there don’t have nothing to do with it and does not deserve hate. However, China surely have good sides as well as bad ones within the country besides politics as well, and the same goes to every country in the world. Each country has its own good/negative sides and the way every one of them is not treated equally is due to the rising media which became the main source to people’s attention. If the media talks about good aspects more, that country would be recognised, loved, and received more popularity/attention. If they do the opposite, that’s when the real issue comes in. Example, if you ask a foreigner who doesn’t live in Asia about countries in Asia, they’re more likely to respond countries within East Asia (first/only) than other parts of Asia (South, Southeast, Middle East, Central, Western) whereas they are mostly not recognised and might’ve received discrimination unlike the ones that are well-known. That leads to the conclusion here, which is that not every individual is being taken part in these situations. Nice people do exist in the real world! Every country existing in this world has its both the good and the bad sides/people! Not everyone is gonna agree with me, but you’re free to share your own perspectives and thoughts! :) Stay positive!!

The West and Turkey have amplified their dehumanizing stereotypes against South Asians, examples being: street sh*tters, scammers, savages, filthy, r@pists, etc. Now, they are adding a new stereotype“zoophilia “. I am pretty sure you have seen this on social media where trolls take articles about animals r@ped in India and post it. The West has been dehumanizing South Asians for over a century. Also, they portray India as anti-Muslim . I don’t think we face discrimination because of skin color as many Italians, Greeks, Persians, and Hispanics have tan skin, but face far less discrimination. These stereotypes also affect other South Asians. It’s about image.

"Filipino" being a derogatory term in S. Korea is wild. What a disappointment, but then we shouldn't be surprised. S. Korea won't be rich forever, and in fact they were poorer than any ASEAN country not that long ago. When ASEAN rises to it's fullest potential, it can easily eclipse S. Korea. So we in ASEAN who are being looked down upon by S. Koreans, we'll just bide our time while the country continues its downward spiral. No jobs, the birthrate being so low it's well below replacement levels, a steadily ageing population, young people not getting married or having children. S. Korea is living the end-stage of unbridled capitalism. It's what happens when the Oligarchs don't even try to hide they control the government and only really want people as slaves. Fun Fact: Korea has the longest unbroken chain of slavery going back 1,500 years.

Firstly, super digusted with the way so many south koreans view south east asians. I have seen way too many koreans put asians on a hierarchy and putting themselves on top As someone half korean myself, i have noticed in some south east asian cultures, being asked if youre korean) its considered a compliment. E.g. "omg youre so pretty! Are you korean?" My very close best friend is Filipino and got this comment. If you look at the statistics, around 1 out of every 5 women has undergone some form of plastic surgery (nothing wrong with it. Your body your choice) but if you are to say that koreans are pretty and compare other's beauties to south koreans, remember it might not even be a natural beauty youre referring to.... So many south east asians compare their apearance to those kpop idols and kdrama actors. Well... many of those kpop idols and kdrama actors have gotton work done (again, not trying to demonise surguries here. If you want to do those procedures that completely up to you). Honestly, this kind of mindset destroys self esteem (and the very concept of beauty itself one could argue) I have been upset about this topic for years and to be honest, I'm glad the true colours of south koreans (not all) are coming to light. I really wish all egotistical south koreans self reflect but tbh, nothing will happen unless south korea becomes the poorest country in the world and starts begging for help from those same people that they thought were bellow them. And here come the angry comments.... 😅

For me, mimicking an accent is not racist. This type of comedy has been around for centuries. Even we, Filipinos mimick Visayan accent. It will only be racist if the accent is associated or used to describe how low class people talk. We should think harder and try not to be too sensitive, especially with our generation now they are clouded with the real concept of racism because of clout and social media. Being too woke is not good either. Real racism exists, but this is not it.
